  • I recorded this on tv back when I was a kid. I remember watching it on tv back then. :)

  • i point everyone to this TV special when i try to illustrate how Disney has mismanaged the Muppets...

This is the 30 yr anniversary..

    their 50th? A (re)release of DVDs... it's just a shame

i still have much hope for the future

  • That's because rereleasing the best is better then making low quality new stuff. They are on their way back though with Bohemian Rhapsody . They're trying to make a movie, but they're trying to do it right.

  • Did Yorick count as a monster or just an abstract thing?

  • I haven't heard the Fraggle Rock theme song in YEARS!

  • "Now that I'm here, I can't wait to leave!"

    Classic!

  • I love the muppets!! I miss watching The Muppet Show every Sunday! Jim Henson is truly missed, Ernie hasn't sounded the same since.

  • early sesame street is so different..

can't believe they went and put a parental warning on it though.. my how times have changed

  • hahahaah ya, its only a warning for dummys tho who get easily scared =D

    unlike u ofcourse =)

  • It's on almost all of our old kid's shows. I think it's because of the current no tallent kids shows and how our society has to be so "PC" that anything that was good for kids had to be destroyed in case it offended someone.

  • it's a losing battle.. b/c regarding kids shows: people will always scrutinize every aspect of the programming b/c they refuse to consider wether they should be using the TV as a babysitter in the first place

  • MONSTARS! MY FAVS!

  • gonzo

  • Why did Sweetums sound like a hillbilly?

  • that's just how Richard Hunter peformed him.. he also did jr. gorg so maybe some of that is in there

it's just sweetums is a big monster with sort of a huly dopey innocence.

  • No, that was Dave Goelz.

  • XD Bernice the pigeon. <33

  • I loved the Muppet Baby segment, it was so adorable. I'm suprised that with the sucsess of the Muppet Babies cartoons, they never did a series of short films or even a movie using the live muppet baby puppets seen in the Muppets take Manhatten movie.

  • the babies did pop back up in the christmas tv special..

  • which one coz i thik i hav em all!

  • muppet family christmas

  • what?

  • Oh yah i think they r in the bit where they role projection clips. Right?

  • yep

  • coooooool

  • Aaah, that part with the alphabet and kermit and that girl was so cute ^^

  • Big Bird: It's great to be here at the Muppets' 30th birthday, but where's the cake?

Oscar: JUST GET ON WITH YOUR SPEECH, FEATHER-FACE!

  • I *heart* Oscar. Poor guy, they have him wearing a suit!

  • I almost spit my beer out all over my laptop when I heard Oscar refer to Big Bird as an overgrown bag of giblets...LOL!!

  • Sweetums Two Headed Monster Fozzie Count Big Bird Oscar Ernie Bert Kermit Gonzo Cookie Monster Grover Staler Waldorf

  • That Kermit and little girl ABC's was great XD

  • MISS FINCH IS THERE! :)

  • She gave me nightmares as a kid

  • Yeah she was a great villain.

But she was easily redeemed in the end of "Follow That Bird" because she realized she was wrong and she accepted it.

  • that thing at 1:28 will give you worse nightmares

  • (02:19) Ah, ah, ah! *KRAKOOM!!!*

  • There's a Sesame Street monster sitting with the Frackles, Behemoth, Sweetums and the other monsters. I didn't think SS monsters were into explosions and watching other characters get eaten.

  • i like fraggle rock better

  • "your nose is loose bert" (laughs) LOLOL!

  • LOL @ THE "GROWN UP FRIENDS HAND"!

  • i agree with u dracul.

  • The little girl messing up and saying "Cookie Monster" with the illustration showing up...hilarious.

BTW, the animated versions of the Muppets were from some shorts created for "Little Muppet Monsters", but the show was pulled for creative reasons after only a few episodes.

  • she did that on purpose. in case u don't know

  • Jim Henson drew the 1st sketch for Big Bird as Muppet on Sesame Street when the show first premiered on NET back in the year 1969. He was a very talented artist- May he always rest in peace in heaven.

  • WOW 17 years. Now Sesame Street is ALMOST 40 WOW!

  • Yes. Sesame Street has been taped for almost 40 years now from Kaufman's Studios in Astoria, Queens, New York. Muppet King Jim Henson perfomed Kermit, Ernie, and Guy Smiley on there till his untimely death on May 16, 1990- May he always rest in peace in eternal life in heaven. He was such a wonderful man!

  • Yeah. I miss the old days

  • Did you know that The Muppet Show was the most popular show in 100 countries when it ran syndicated for 5 seasons from 1976 to 1981? I want to buy The Complete Second Season as a dvd set for Christmas. I already own season one on a dvd set.

  • Yeah I know thats AWSOME. Best t.v show ever! I have both sets of the muppet show

  • Which season did you like better? Season 1 or 2? I liked the 1st season where Kermit used to flirt with all the female guest stars in the talk spot!

  • Season 2 was better. Season 1 was alot different form the rest of the muppet seasons, but the season 1 theme was better. U will LOVE season 2.

  • In the 1st season of The Muppet Show, the show wasn't fully developed yet. I've downloaded many episodes of the 2nd season here on you tube.I love the J. P. Morgan episode! I used to watch The Muppet Show reruns ins on Nickeloeon back in the year 1995.

  • Me Too!! but I don't remeber well?

  • The Muppet Show originally ran syndicated on CBS from 1976 to 1981- for 5 seasons. British Producer Sir Lew Lord Grade's ITC organization and Henson Associates produced The Muppet Show in Elstree, a suburb of London, England. I remember it vaguely as a 2 year old toddler back in the year 1980.

  • Lucky U. I was born in the early 90s

  • The Muppet Show had very clever writing. Did you ever read Jim Hensons' Biography, The Works? It talks about the whole history of The Muppet Empire! It's a wonderful book to read!

  • I did a biography on "Jim Henson" I love that when I was in 7th grade. The book was awsome. So was my poster of Jim's characters like Kermit, Ernie, Rowlf, Dr.Teeth, and pently more from his world. It was the best project of that year.

  • At 7:08, look for Kermit, Miss Piggy & Fozie animated verisons
