@reniisgod Well, I wasn't trying to offend your character choice anyways. I'm just saying that El Fuerte at least has more personality and creativity than a sizeable fraction of the cast. He's also really fun to play as.
@reniisgod Oh, I play as Vega quite a bit too. Along with Bison, he's one of the characters I get the most wins with on SSFIV3D. I've seen him compared to El Fuerte in terms of level of mobility.
@bONz08r0nzan I have alot of respect for Bison players, some of his combos are quite tricky to pull off during online play. The only reason i dislike El Fuerte is because it's all a guessing game when fighting him online. People spam his dive bomb when your about to get up, either that or his running slide. Does my head in
@reniisgod Implying that El Fuerte's RSF isn't tricky to pull off during online play... or any play for that matter. Fact of the matter, if you play aggressively against him, El Fuerte can't do shit, unless the Fuerte player is Godlike. El Fuerte's strength is tearing down turtlers and fireball spammers.
His custom is to share a meal with his opponent after a fight. I'm assuming the quotes are after they try it. And it's implied that he's a terrible chef.
@omgcandy16Kimicari0 It's funny, in the udon comics he seems to not have any issue serving up some good stuff (T.Hawk was like 'gimme some mo') He's obviously messing with stuff he's never used
@Itachi4forever It's not a stereotype of a mexican. It's a stereotype of a Mexican fighter. This isn't the first thing that came to mind when they thought of a Mexican, it's the first thing that came to mind when thinking of a Mexican FIGHTER. What other fighting styles are associated with Mexico? I can only think of one, Bull Fighting, but that's already taken by Vega.
@Itachi4forever Its not racist if its not insulting or demeaning to his race. The character is a comical rendition of a Luchador not a Mexican. He is probably based of El Santo a famous wrestler recognized by his costume witch in nearly identical to El Fuerte's. Also don't forget about T.Hawk the other Mexican street Fighter.
@Itachi4forever Yeah he is a Native American, as in a native of America, Mexico being part of it. North/South/Central/Latin, America is a pretty big place. No, really check it out his birthplace is listed as Mexico, his stage in SF2 was in Guadalajara, Mexico and his theme song is very Mexican. Its weird I know.
Have you guys actually played street fighter before? It's meant to be racially stereotyped, that's what makes it so funny. Look at Zangief, he cossack dances. El Fuerte, has tortilla in his moves. Rufus, he's a biker. Ken, he dresses up as a cowboy in his alternate. Dudley, British and elegant. Sakura, Japanese and dresses up in a schoolgirl outfit. Balrog, he grows up in the ghetto and when he dies screams MY FIGHT MONEY!!!!!!!
@jakers22 Im Mexican, And Thats How they Do it In Mexico. So Its True, So capcom should keep doing this.. it Would sound silly if they made the mexican do kung fu right? lol and the African american do Lucha.
@usernameshortage Juri does Taekwondo, thats real. Fei Long does Kung Fu. Dudley and Balrog are boxers. Hell, Hakan doing oil wrestling is more real. In reality, wrestling is nothing like how El Fuerte does it. Mexican wrestlers don't do things like Tortilla copter. I say he's the biggest racial stereotype because all of his moves have the names of Mexican food in them, he has an atrociously over the top accent, and just because he's Mexican, they make him a luchador.
@Saturnstales That's just Capcom's excuse to make him the most racially stereotypical character. I mean, he's a Mexican wrestler chef? That's odd? Why would they do that? Oh, it was to make him shout out Mexican foods when he attacks.
i think people added el fuerte so there would be some diversity, so there wasnt all whites. And for SUPER street fighter 4, their bringing dee-jay back
i mean that they put el fuerte in there for MORE diversity...cause in the other street fighters they didn't have hispanic people, and my bad about forgetting balrog
@14Videogamer Well, yeah. You fight him in Spain, he's represented by a Spanish flag, he uses a style called "Spanish Ninjitsu" and in SF4, he has a Spanish accent.
Ehhh, El Fuerte is awesome like a well prepared stew but without more strength, he is as unused as sour milk. They need to add more spices to the recipe to make him a valid ingriedient. BOOM
@TheBlackSMA Super Street Fighter 4 added the Chilli peppers, salt and other aromatic ingredients which took him high up the menu. God bless that secret recipe El Fuerte is now the main course :D
Actually, El Fuerte is openly inspired to El Santo.
Rey Mysterio is just one of dozens (hundreds?) of Mexican luchadores that look quite alike, because they share the common pants and mask attire. El Fuerte reminds you of Rey just because Rey is the only luchador that is known to the fandom these days, outside of Mexico.
