  • Creed is all about scott & mark together.. But in Alter bridge is more about mark and his great solo performance...

  • i think his find the real solo is hard to beat, i would say open your eyes is his fastest solo, the reason creed never had solos except for pity for a dime, is because stapp isnt a metal guy like tremonti, therefore he didnt want solos in creed, stapp strived for commercial success, i doubt tremonti was that particularly about making the big time as long as he was enjoyed and writing and playing music he liked. thats why creed broke up and alter bridge formed. But we get both now so happy days

  • SONSOFDAY - Revolution

  • The Pity For A Dime solo was excellent, though! First song I learned on guitar.

And furthermore, the solos of Full Circle fuck up any Alter Bridge solo. Just listen to Overcome.

  • @92796Apollo

Overcome is imo not his best solo at all! It's heavy and fast, but that doesn't make it the best. And you know, you can't compare his creed solo's with his AB solo's, it's the same fucking guy! And just to prove you wrong, listen to Coeur D'alene, or pretty much any Blackbird solo, Brand New Start, Come to Life, Ties That Bind, I can just keep going. I mean, the song itself is just not one of the best songs he's ever written, less melodic than his usual.

  • Absolutely love Marks playing! Top notch guitarist

  • Cool! Mark Tremonti is my altime favorite guitarist. What i love about this vid is that it shows how drasticlly his style has changed threw the years. Like, the solo in With Arms Wide Open is nothing like his solo in Open Your Eyes! I just made a compilation vid of his 10 best solos with Alter Bridge.

  • He's come a long way in the last 14 years. He is my favorite active guitar player playing today. My alive-or-dead "ultimate" band would have to be Miles Kennedy, Mark Tremonti, John Bonham, and Cliff Burton.

  • @hosersupreme That would be AWESOME!!

  • well to be fair about the creed solos... most of them are old songs they didnt have very good wah pedals and stuff back then untill like 2002-2003 so dont judge the old ones cause they sound good for its time

  • @ITMeCE I agree. His solos with Alter Bridge are beter mostly for that reason. It is amazing how much a change in technology can change you entire openion on the talent of a musician.

  • i love the solo for "down to my last" every single note of it is perfect and i especially love the over-lapping guitars at the end- perfect

  • uploading mark tremonti full circle and ab3 solos + guest solos

  • i heard he got lessons from Michael Angelo Batio in between Creed and Alter Bridge, it really shows in the melody and shreding in his alter bridges, and his tone is much purer and clearer, but all the solos are cool and really sing

  • In my opinion Myles Kennedy's singing is MUCH better than Scott Stapp's & obviously Tremonti's guitar playing in AB is just insanely greater than in creed so my vote had to go to ALTER BRIDGE!!!!!

  • Open Your Eyes is Mark's greatest and most Beautiful solo ever... Others seem like just fast, but open your eyes solo has soul in it.. in my opinion..

    MT RULES.. \m/

  • @n3m0prince Are you fucking kidding? Listen to Burn It Down, one of the most emotional songs AB has ever written.

  • @IImangII Dude, didn't u c me writting "in my opinion"?

  • Santa Muerte? Holy death! I think Mark sold his soul....

  • THAT IS F'CKING INSPIRATIONAL

  • KICK ASS !!

  • CREED is about music and amazing melody (no need so much solo to make them sound great)

AB is about Mark Tremonti- The song is great... the intro...the solo and sound pefect but chorus of the song can't compare to CREED... i love both bands but i stay with CREED coz they will take me higher...to the place where blind man see... lolz :p

  • @KhmerAngkor2008 That is what i love so mutch about alter bridge. Alter bridge was Marks chance to expand his righting and playing abillity. He couldn't get any better with Creed because they were scared that a change of pace would affect their popularity in a negative way. I love both bands, but i think Alter Bridge is My favorite.

  • Unless he was a closet shredder while he was in Creed, i don't see how somebody could go from the limited solos he did in Creed to what he's doing now.

He must have sold his soul, or either practiced his F'ing ass off. I think the latter but still.......amazing progress fairly quick.

  • @Grazydine He has always been a shredder (grew up on Metallica, etc.). Creed just didn't do that stuff. But after he got his signature guitar, he said he felt like he didn't deserve it, so he practiced to get better. So there was a big leap when that happened.

  • open your eyes solo in my opinion is his greatest

  • @rsizemore12 HELL YEAH :D WAHH WAHHH WAHHHAHAHA

  • stand here with me was Mark's most impressive solo in Creed.

  • @mustangcobain65 i respect your opinion, but ive gotta disagree

i think his best w/ creed is either Don't Stop Dancing or With Arms Wide Open (full version, not the radio cutoff

  • yeah no wonder he looks bored when playing w/creed. good, but yawn compared to AB!!!

  • Have to say, his solos are SICK, but listen to "End is Here" by AB, and no solo really in that song, but still an insane song guitar-wise.

  • @rimwrecka100590 amazing song

  • Comment removed

  • the solos from my own prison have a classical them about them.. guess that's what makes him different

  • mark has his own style in drop D tuning and just explodes with imagination!!!

  • mark is the shittttt!!!!! i love how he is getting solos with alter bridge he didnt get many with creed

  • hey man. it was because Scott stapp didn't want him to do the solos he wanted to.. that's why he left with the rest of the band.. that was one reason why he left. the others have not been told.. lets see what its like with him being back with creed i hope they can work as a band and stapp doesn't be a bitch lol

  • down to my last is his best solo ever

    r

  • one day remains rulezzz!!

  • Blackbird wins. PERIOD.

  • Hannah Montana FTW!

  • jonas brothers FTW!

  • amazing solos: pity for a dime, find the real, open your eyes, down to my last

  • i think that the beautiful, stand here with me,don't stop dancing, find the real, one day remains, open your eyes, down to my last, ties that bind solos are his best solos ever you cant just chose one of his solos

  • Im trying the Illusion solo now. Its fast for me :(

  • pity for a dime has always been such a sick solo.

  • i love the solo to dont stop dancing

  • Where's buried alive????? o_O

  • "Stand Here With Me" is the best Creed solo on this list. The best Alter Bridge solo on this list is "Down To My Last" in my opinion.

  • he seems like he grew with the rest of the band when it turns to the alter bridge you can hear an all around betterness not to say creed isnt good just doesnt live up to alter bridge to me

  • pity for a dime solo is awesome!

  • creed has more melodic solo's than alter bridge but i love them both so much

  • where was rise today?! that was one of his best solos.

  • i think his creed ones go more with the songs and are more musical instead of just riffs, both sound sicj, but i think the creed ones are more reflective of the song and more musical

  • Yep!

  • tremonti could not play just bad ass in creed like can he said after creed he started hanging with outher players and picked up on there tricks

  • I think that his guitar solos were well reflected of the styles that he played in both bands. I have always been and will remain a fan of Tremonti's guitar playing, and will also remain a fan of both AB and creed :)

  • his Alterbridge solo's are way better and sound good !

  • @wilz373 That's 'cause he would've been playing longer and he's more experienced now then when he was in Creed.

  • @wilz373 :

That's true and that's one of the reasons why Creed broke up in the first place. Besides Stapp becoming such a douche bag (which he now claims he changed his attitude) didn't want Tremonti to use too many solos in the tracks. When Mark formed Alter Bridge, he mentioned that he was going to use more killer riffs and longer solos and so he did. MARK TREMONTI ROCKS!!!!! \m/

  • ive loved both creed and AB for as long as i can remember....i think that mark couldnt stand out as much with his guitar in creed b/c of wind up records and the way there albums where geared.....like when the 3 left and formed AB every song was like a guitar solo plus i think scott and brian stood out alot more to in AB......there new song overcome has a bad ass guitar solo in it

  • Great video, it really does show how he improved. Down to My last is probably my favorite solo ever.

  • Basically mark got better when he joined alterbridge!

  • yes he even stated that once he joined Alter Bridge you'd be able to see his true talent. And no offence to Creed, but they played heavier things, Alter Bridge is very complicated, you can tell by the tabs as you go from Creed to Alter Bridge.

  • @LegendaryGerous

have you ever looked at a Creed tab?...A lot of Alter Bridge's stuff is pretty easy, and some of it pretty complex, but Mark's Alt picking and mode variations in Creed are amazing

  • I have looked at many of Creeds tabs, yes they are hard, but an Alter Bridge tab is like a freaking book compared to a Creed tab. He even said he plays more intricate stuff in Alter Bridge.

  • @LegendaryGerous yeah i guess your right..maybe because the only AB song i learned all the way through was Find The Real..haha..and its simple

  • Yes Find the Real is a pretty simple song. Even if you listen to Creeds new stuff, they are playing much better and harder than previous Creed albums, but the intracasies aren't there, this is especially apparent in the drums and bass playing. Still Creed is awesome and December they are going to start writing for AB again, hells yeah.

  • i dont know about AMAZING...id hand that to someone like jeff loomis. but yeah i see what u mean mark is good

  • loomis ftw!

  • i agree! dude the intro riff to one last breath is confusing as hell for the first time! but still pretty complex even for advanced players!

  • @mrpinkice yeah man that song is really tricky haha

  • Killer post dude, I haven't heard a lot of these Creed songs.

I never really noticed Tremonti while he was in Creed, but when Alter Bridge rolled around, I knew he was the driving force behind it.

Him and Myles together writing music is the "Greatest music I've ever Heard in my Life"

  • yes Creed was very good but you noticed them more as a whole, Brians bass really stood out. But when I put in one day remains and the title track came on, I went, " HOLY SHIT! That's like a song made up of a solo!" Hence Alter Bridge has become my favorite band since 04.

  • mark tremonti is my fuckin hero... nuff said

  • Make sure to check out the Fret12 website where you can ask Tremonti any question you want and he will answer them himself via web-cam. check it out!

  • You guys saying Tremonti didn't solo much in Creed because of no second guitarist... most of the One Day Remains album (Alter Bridge) has Mark exclusively on guitar. Myles Kennedy mostly just sang until the Blackbird album. It was most likely a difference of opinion between Stapp and Tremonti that kept the solos tame and somewhat rare.

  • you are spot on.. stapp isnt a fan of flashy solos, mark is.

  • WAAAH! LA santa muerte shirt!!

  • I hadnt notice that until now, dude!!!

  • i meant alice cooper. its someone named alice. Close enough:0)

  • yeah, its not alice in chains.

    its an Alice Cooper cover

  • all of tremontis solos combined back to back add up to over 19 minutes of solos. double what this video shows.

  • Go ahead and knit all his solo's together please :D oh and send me a message when you're done

  • i already have it. its been done since a few months after blackbird was released. i need to add a few of the new creed solos eventually

  • GREAT thanks, I'll have a look :D

  • i havent uploaded it. ill get you a copy though

  • i made one of these kinda of mp3s a long ass time ago. mark has something like 32 solos in all

  • Creed rock.

  • what album is i'm eighteen on?

  • It's not on any of their album's its just a cover they did and then they recorded it.

  • you goin to see creed on this tour. i got my tix. 5th row baby!

  • im jealous man. Gotta wait until the 30th to get my tickets

  • Kiss me.

  • im 18 is an Alice and Chains cover....rare, but its on youtube.

  • it's definitely not alice in chains

  • Comment removed

  • It was on the sound track for the movie "the faculty"

  • Best of the best!!! Tremonti rocks!!!!

  • what happened to buried alive?? the two solos he pulls out on it are just amazing - the best by far in my opinion

  • look at the other clip mate...

  • i totally agree they fit perfectly

  • i dont even understand how this is valid... you cant even compare anything between creed and alter bridge. you cant solo when you dont have a second guitarist it just doesnt fit. i mean i guess its cool to see how hes changed but nothing is comparable at all between the two bands

  • :51 is illusion by creed 1:41 is i'm eighteen by creed

  • what song is at 1:41?

  • tremontis best solo is on brand new start. that solo is just perfect

  • you must have never heard blackbird

  • i hav and myles kennedys part of the solo is probably better.

but all tremonti solos are awesome

  • Does anybody know the name of the song that starts at 0:51?

  • Illusions

  • my favourite Creed solo is from Stand Here With Me. I cant pick just one from Alterbridge, they're all just as amazin as eachother

  • blackbird solo is the best solo i've ever heard. i play it over and over when i listen to that song. very powerful and moving.

  • Have you ever heard the improved solo from With Arms Wide Open that he played live? It's still my favorite of all of his solo's.. not the most difficult but it just perfectly fit the song and kicked ass.

  • is that version on youtube?

  • i think open your eyes is one of the best guitar solos ever

  • i feel that mark did what he felt the song needed with creed rather than trying to shred. he did the solos so that they would contribute something to the song. now with alter bridge the songs are faster metal songs therefore shredding solos fit.

  • well, now he has myles keeping the rythm, so it's a hell loads easier to go freakishly fast and come back to normal

  • he didn't have a second guitarist in creed so he couldn't do most of the soloing that he wanted to.

  • Well, he could have done what Page did on the Zeppelin studio albums...dubbing dual guitars. He was a lone guitarist too you know :)

  • Yea, but then you can't do it live....

In Flames pulled something like that, rhythm and dual lead, and instead of just adding a second lead/a new rhythm player, they went to the basic lead/rhythm format....

    LAME

  • bs - In Flames do dual leads live, the rhythm is played back.

  • Yea, on the old stuff, but the new stuff is being written with a single lead and a single rhythm

  • Anyone else notice how much faster his solos get after the jump to Alter Bridge? ^__^ Mark is amazing.

  • Faster doesn't mean it's better.

  • for Mark Tremonti it does. thats just his style

  • tremonti does much more than play fast

  • my fav is stand here with me

  • yeah tremonti has definitely gotten way better over the years. as a songwriter and a guitar player. my only complaint is he uses the wah an awful lot now. but i guess that's his sound. still incredible though

  • yeah

  • hey man cool vid:) 5/5
