  • AT 8:18 LOOK HOW HIGHT HIS JUMPSHOT IS THAT WHY HE AND PISTOL WERE DA GOOD AT SCORING

  • LeSteriod is not a big physical freak but a pill popper.

  • back to back highlights

  • hoopsencyclopedia this vid is the *, that's why I love NBA perhaps even with its problems. I'm following this exercise system that's utilized even by NBA players - 50 inch vertical (dot) com - I already jump few ins higher and being more impactful on the court!

Michael Jordan 1988: 38pts Vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

  • This is not High Quality it is terrible quality !! You need to fix your picture and ripping

  • NBA players in the old days would've used Ankle Insurance when they were guarding Michael Jordan.

  • Well, since this last year was LeBron's 6th, that's going to be a little difficult, but I get the point.

    Here are the scoring totals in BronBron's first 6 years: 20(42%), 27(47%), 31(48%), 27(48%), 30(48%), 28(49%)--pretty damn good.

    Here are MJ's first 6 full years: 28(52%), 37(48%), 35(54%), 33(54%), 34(53%), 32(54%)

LeBron has been good, but Jordan is generally scoring at least 3-5 more PPG and shooting about 6% better. That's a huge difference.

  • also look at rebounds and assists. may not be the better scorer but a better all around player.

  • It's difficult to enter an entire stats page into the character limit, but that claim is out of control.

First of all, even though LeBron played better defense THIS year, he still wasn't nearly the player MJ was.

MJ was first team defense every year but his rookie year, he was defensive player of the year in his third full season, and when moved to PG he averaged 33, 8, and 8. LeBron hasn't done that yet.

LeBron has averaged about 1 more rebound and the same number of assists as MJ.

  • dont you ever put a fucking comparison like that up again.

  • I'm assuming that wasn't directed at me.

  • Let me add something to this.

Lebron playing in watered down, no HOF allstar bigmen, 3-sec rule, no handcheck era & he still hasnt ave more than 50% FG for single season.

MJ played in full defensive real NBA golden era where he was thrown to ground often by badboys.

MJ still ave 50 or above % regularly.

no contest. Lebron can win 6 MVPs but cannot beat MJ's 5 reg season MVPs never. competition aint the same.

  • while your at it. compare rings and compare achivements on and off the court.

  • Mo williams was an allstar reserve and they only put him on there after 2 other people got hurt. Z wasn't an allstar this year.

  • so wut are you trying to say lebron is better than michael dey may not even get past da magic

  • Why are you posting on a Jordan video and waffling on about Lebron. Lebron is a big physical freak and a great shooter but he doesnt have 1/10 the poetry and artistry of Jordan at his peak. Jordan is the greatest ever. Lebron needs another 10 years before he is in the discussion, he could get injured and there is no way he will stay that explosive at 265 lbs as he is now, he will slow down big time. Dont get wrapped up in the hype of today and appreciate these classic performances of the GOAT.

  • @pharry4life I wouldn't go as far as calling Lebron a great shooter.

  • your so stupid man Jordan is better LeBron is not even better than Kobe and he doesnt have a Ring so i dont know why your bragging about him doing things by himself

  • Hoa many years did it take Pippen to develop? Lebron will never win Championships as long as he is a pass first type player. He needs a dominant scorer to have that type of game in his team. Pippen avg 7.9 ppg his rookie yr and then stepped it up to 14.4.his second year...he was a horrible ft shooter...with70% for the career...Pippen fed of MJ at all times. 8 time defensive first team in a 17 yr career is below avg...to be honest...pippen was just the best complimentary player to MJ. period.

  • Scottie Pippen is one the biggest surprises in the NBA. Before being drafted, he was a nobody..literally. He played in University of Central Arkansas, he was not exposed to the TV, heck he was not even a local celebrity in his hometown. Pippen was just a skinny 6-7 guy.

He was drafted by the SuperSonics and eventually traded to the bulls in 87.

The bulls and specially Jordan helped him bring out his true potential. If Pippen played elsewhere, he would not be the hall-of-famer that he is!

  • ur rite man

  • Yes, pippen had jordan and vice versa, Jordan had Pippen.

Don't make another excuse about Lebron not having an all-star cast. Jordan made his teammates better, same as what lebron can do. But don't insinuate that Pippen was already a superstar when he was teamed up with MJ.

He is just like Mo Williams, who became an all-star with James. But the difference is, LeBron is yet to win.

  • Amen, I'm tired of hearin bout Lebron.

  • Matthewkerri12345 when was the last time LeBron or Kobe fouled out of a game?

  • MJ the best of all time, and always will be....I am a Cavs fan and had to endure alot of games like this one with Mike. It really pains me to see a young Ron Harper playing so well with the Cavs. I am sure everyone remembers the Danny Ferry trade for Ron Harper....I still think that the Cavs might have won a few championships if they wouldn't have made that huge mistake...I think maybe now with our number 23, this might finally be our year

  • They called 2783 personal fouls on MJ over the length of his career.

  • oh yeah

  • Man that opening clip is sick, leaning up and under. 1988 Cleveland Cavaliers ranked 5th in the NBA in defense. 1989 Cleveland Cavaliers ranked 2cnd in the NBA in defense. I don't think people understand how underrated this Cavs defense was. Plus that block at 2:17 has been in more highlight reels than I can even name. He PACKED Ron Harper's shot. I love this upload Hoops! Looking forward to your future masterpieces!

  • This Block is truly amazing...

  • Agreed!

  • I agree with uberathlete. People show these great clips of Kobe doing these amazing feats. Ask yourself how many times do you see Kobe do that? Ive seen his cluth games and they do not compare with MJ. This guy did incredible moves almost every game. He had consistency.

  • lmao 23 owned the cavs lmao now another 23 owning the bulls go figure

  • How is it that every mj video or kobe video there has to be some person that has to bring up the jordan/kobe comparison, lets just apprecitate jordan greatness and kobe greatness. We all kno mj is arguably the greatest ever and kobe is one of the greatest ever. True nba fans would just leave it at that. Peace

  • Re: Wrxrtd's comment. EXACTLY! Even at a young age MJ was so polished. He knew exactly where he wanted to get on the floor, what shot to take, and more importantly, when to do it. Amazing.

  • Then I read yesterday that he wants to be traded. I mean, what the hell man? These guys are petulent man childs. He gets his ego bruised by Stan Van Gundy, who was basically telling the truth. Shaq always complained of Floppers than does the same thing! Shaq is really Narcissistic. Just wondered how you and other people feel about him. He just seems like the kid who, when he gets slighted, doesn't want to play in their playground anymore.

  • Hey I know this is unrelated to this vid Hoops, but I have to rant about something. What is wrong with Shaquille O'Neal? Is he EVER happy?? A couple of days ago in an Interview he was praising the Phoenix Suns Medical Staff and how they use "alternative" methods and how the excercises make him feel 25 again. The Interviewer asked him, "Shaq I know you guys aren't winning, but you seem happier than I have seen you in a long time". Shaq basically said that he was.

  • yes sir

  • nice 6:19

  • Even as a young player in his 20s Jordan showed the patience and maturity of a 10-11 year Veteran!

  • excellent video hoops, thumbs up for you!! great job!

  • midrange...

  • whoa hoops a digweed fan? sweet.

  • he woulda been a beast of a wide receiver he has the height and the hands and he has basketball speed but he could prolly train for football speed

  • I think Jordan had one thing mentioned here over Kobe: his huge hands. Kobe's hands aren't as big and therefore is physically incapable of some of the things Jordan did (like fake a pass with one hand).

Kobe definitely developed his shot faster though.

  • How did you come to the conclusion that he developed his shot faster than MJ??? Kobe was a terrible shooter when he came into the NBA and had probably the worst shot selection ive ever seen from a 2 guard! Jordan always played withih himself, even right out of college. He knew what he could and couldnt do. And what he couldnt do...he then developed. Kobe came out of high school with an attitude that he could do everything, and he showed his immaturity as a player from day one!

  • Jordan had more than big hands. He has a higher vertical and runs faster. Look it up. Jordan was more athletic than Kobe, which is was partly why he could pull off his moves a lot easier and with more consistency and efficiency. He also had a huge repertoire of moves even early in his career. People forget about this. He could do most everything early on and needed only to refine himself through the years.

  • I feel like I'm watching a highlight reel, not one game.

  • oh man! I love the music. Future music from the 80's

  • awesome! love it! peace2u!

  • i love jordan, man he was the smartest in the game he always knew how to get to the hoop and be in perfect position

  • Is it just me, or could more people palm the ball in the 80s than these days? It just seems like there's a lot more palming during passing and laying up. Did they change the ball since then, or have hands gotten smaller? Or am I just wrong?

  • No youre right. Hands aint got smaller n ball aint changed that much but rules. Today handchecking isnt allowed any more so the game is less aggressive, its easier to steel the ball if youre able to get your man off balance with sum checks n u aint have to worry so much bout da foul. secondly back then there was no D-3second-rule, so you can wait for da slasher in an mo comfortable position to palm. Lebron would have scored 19 PPG in the 80s n MJ in his prime could score maybe 45PPG today

  • You can not say that about Lebron. That is unfair. First, we'll never know. Second, he's very young and you can't judge him right now. Third, as young as he is, he's already a great player. Not MJ (but who will?), but one that will be remembered. He's a different kind of player and you should enjoy watching him play (same for Kobe).

  • Yeah BronBron is agreat player. But good you mention Kobe. I think he would still be able to put his numbers up even in the 80s. Cauze hes movin flowting n with grace, creatin spaces n slippin thru them( Luv his game, aint comparin him to MJ though)LBJ is mo a beast, just rumblin to da hoop n everybody has to step aside because of da new rules. But maybe I realy go to hard on him, we never know. But its just terrible how da league hypes him, just look at da last second call few days ago vs ATL

  • how can you say we cant judge him then in the same sentence say OH but hes a great player. NO one wants the fans to be critical of lebron yet they want to put him in the conversation with greats. If he is put on that level then he should be judged on that level and he aint did nothing great yet

  • i love the porn music that came in about 7 and a half minutes!

  • Another great video uploaded by the greatest video maker of all time, hoopsencyclopedia! Kudos my friend. That Cavs team was tough indeed!

  • EM

  • GOAT

  • nice upload Hoops

  • you see they were even trying to compare ron harper to MIKE,they've been trying to compare ppl to him since he stepped foot in the league and they still are trying today

  • what's the name of the song ?

  • Song is "Torch" by John Digweed

  • Comment removed

  • i think kobe, i love lebron but kobe looks and scores like mike, for now, i love lebron but as for him its too soon to legitamately tell, at least for a couple of years

  • there will still be no-one like mike that we have seen so far!!!!! most deff!!!! the greatest!, you know the whole infidelity thing with kobe has put a hinder on his career RIGHT NOW, but the same thing happened with Mike, plus the whole gambling scandle, but it all faded away, same with Kobe,......we'll see, no way to tell untill kobes career is over

  • micheal jordan was so amazing

  • I think the Cavs should go back to those jerseys. Not a big fan of the new ones...

  • at that point in time it was like watching the prince developing into king of basketball. skills were still raw at the time

  • good stuff thanks

  • See kids, it made no diference if it was the unathletic Craig Elho, or the very athletic Ron Harper, Mike was gonna burn you no matter what size or level of athleticism you had.

  • And they were both tall guards contrary to people saying Jordan faced only shorter players

  • thanks

But... but.. but.. I thought he had no mid range game?

    LOL

some of these kids kill me with their ignorance.

  • first...lol jk awesome video thanks for posting.

I love to look back at some of his old games.

  • great game

  • I popped the cherry!
