yeah that's how we do it in iran.it is done in the birthdays and weddings.mostly women come and do this dance and after a while they get a little money from the birthday boy/girl or the couple. after a while they pass it to somebody else and so on... till the song ends and give it back to the birthday boy/girl or the couple to cut the cake.

@ronothedem Why do you think every persian guy wears the farvahar necklace? Its a symbol of our ancient zorastrian religion and is considered unislamic. To understand why many iranians demonize islam is because our ancestors were taxed, persecuted, our libraries burnt (ie in ctesiphon), and Arabic declared the official language in the country. You can read all about what the Persians faced under the Ummayads. They basically tried to erase our history, and brought an end to our golden age.

Although it is not islamic to hate jews, some palestinians have been so damaged by what happened (i.e. losing one's parents, impoverishment) that they do start hating jews in general. The same goes for what happened on 9-11.
