  • He took is like a champ, didn't make the reporter look like more of a baffoon than he already is, he knows he made a mistake, but just let it slide. What a cool guy.

  • just relax everyone.. no need for insults to be honest.. pretty simple mistake really..and after 24 years of losing a world cup maybe he got lost in the moment after we finally won one.

  • what an idiot

  • What an idiot. I hope you apologised to Dusautoir as well. Shameful.

  • i dought dusautoir cared about anything he was saying, he just lost the world cup finals lol, thats why he didnt give a full interview. plus he only speaks some english so he probably didnt pick up on it.

  • LOL! I love how you can see the effort in his face trying not to laugh.

  • Dusautoir tries very hard to keep from laughing at 00:23

  • Is he the same "reporter" who have credited to Vincent Clerc a try from C.Heymans in a 2009 test match in NZ? I hope so cause I would be sad if New Zealand has more than one totally clueless reporter aired on prime time.

  • @wiapoj thank you!!

  • I find it funny, that none of you has actually listened to what Ian Smith is saying. Thierry Henry was a former French football player and if you go to 0:14 and actually listen for one in your life, you will hear the words, "Thierry Henry, former French Footballer would have been very proud of you today"... He was saying that Thierry Henry would have been proud of Thierry Dusautoirs performance in that match... Hillarious, none of you actually listened to what he was saying?? The jokes on you!!!

  • @MsKiwiJim No, I think you missed it. He makes the mistake and tries to cover it up at the end. Joke is on you twice haha!

  • @wiapoj No, I think its what he wanted to say all along, do you really think Ian Smith would make that mistake twice, hahaha fool. Since when has Ian Smith ever had anything to do with football???

  • @MsKiwiJim Watch the video again. He clearly calls him Thierry Henry at the start. He then trys to call him it again to cover it up. Why would he bring up Thierry Henry at all? Saying he would be proud of Dusautoir. It doesn't make any sense. Fact is they both have the same first name and he got it wrong. All other viewers of this video agree. Watch it again you will get it.

  • @wiapoj I've watched it several times and at first I agreed also, I know he called him Thierry Henry at the start, but you're right... why?? You're right... It doesn't make sense... so why?? Its not like its an easy mistake to make, you don't stand there at a rugby world cup final looking at Thierry Dusautoir and associate it with Thierry Henry at all, especially when you're from New Zealand and have relatively little to nothing to do with football.

  • Which makes me think he had that pre-planned, to say one of his countries great sportsman would have been proud of him but couldn't find the words at the start.

  • Their first name being the same adds to the play on words... I think it was probably Ian Smith humour, that since he is a simple idiot, nobody understands. Dusautoir looks shocked aswell.

  • @MsKiwiJim get off Ian Smiths nuts.... he f#cked it up and tried to cover it up period, anyone with ears and a brain can see that.

  • @RealNigerianz I know right? Everyone else understands it. @MsKiwiJim just don't get it...

  • @RealNigerianz Sorry mate, I forgot Nigerians were the rugby experts!!

  • @MsKiwiJim Can you see itnow though? A lot a peopleseen this video and they all agree. Just not you :-)

  • @wiapoj Mate, I seen it all along, im an All Blacks supporter, but Dusautoir has long been one of my favourite players. I also think Ian Smith is cricketing scum who should'nt be allowed to do test rugby. But there is a chance thats what he wanted to say from the start. Grant Nisbett is being bashed for saying 4 billion kiwis have witnessed this... also an easy mistake, as 4 billion is the est. global audience. Kiwi's waited 24 years for this moment, can't blame them for having wonky thoughts.

  • @MsKiwiJim I don't care who you support. I just want to know if you see the video for what it is now. A lot of people debate on youtube and no one ever gives up their opinion. Just interesting to see if I could sway another users thoughts. I agree, he could have been planning to talk about Thierry Henry but I doubt it very much. Just a slip of the tongue. A funny one ;-)

  • @wiapoj As I said in my previous comment, I've seen the video for what it is all along. But an easy mistake to make PARTICULARLY if you were planning to make it. Don't forget he had only minutes earlier been interviewing All Black coach Graham Henry. Like I said, millions of Kiwi's were taking in the moment, put anyone of them in the centre of Eden Park to interview a foreign player and its likely they will seem a lot less compose than that...

  • @MsKiwiJim You seemed to think he did it on purpose in your earlier comments. Good to see you have it right now ;-) He is a reporter. Always under pressure. Could be a small story or the world cup, it's his job. Still just a simple slip of the tongue. Similar names and everyone knows Henry so he just fucked up. Chur...

  • @MsKiwiJim I have no more points to raise. Everyone else seems to get this.

  • Comment removed

  • @MsKiwiJim I never removed it. I assumed you did. Maybe it got flagged for spam or something.

  • What song is being played in the background?!

  • @steelshall April Sun in Cuba by Dragon

  • This why you shouldn't have a former NZ Cricket player commentate rugby!!!

  • Grant Nisbett, minutes later, mentioned something about 4.2 billion New Zealanders. What a fucking joke! What a fucking joke!

  • lol at his face when the interviewer calls him henry haha hes like im gonna smash you if you call me henry one more time hahaa but then he laughs when the fag finally lets him talk hahahaha GC'

well deserved player of the year

  • DUSAUTOIR RUGBY GOD

  • it was a honor for him

  • Man I thought I was the only person on earth who noticed this.... I'm sure it wasn't an accident...... just trying to add a bit of insult to injury....... nothing wrong with that! GOOD SHIT A.B'S!!!!!

  • Easy mistake to make: both of them are very gifted with the ball in hand, as the Irish football team knows.

  • @ChuckieMcHaggis Hahaha nice one bro...... was thinking for a sec, what the hell is this guy on about, Henry plays soccer??? Then I remembered lol.....

  • "epic" and "fail" are so overused.

  • he should smack him on the head with the award! haha

  • The entire France is proud of you Thierry ! And of Thierry Henry too, but that's an other story :)

  • another kiwi reporter told William Servat: "I konw your name is not William", these guys seriously have to learn to do their job properly, I would post the link but apparently youtube doesn't like that

  • @al119280 I saw that, too. Totally hopeless.

  • That is possibly the most retarded piece of interviewing ever...

  • looked like he wanted smack him when he first call him that, he should of

  • he he what a stupid reporter

  • At least he didn't just roll up and go, "Hey Losing Black guy!"

  • damn ! thierry has made a lot of weight lifting !!

  • Dusautoir is trying so hard not to crack up

  • ian smith you fat fuck just die

  • I love how he tries to rescue it the second time: 'Thierry Henry...the former French footballer...would be very proud of you.' Broadcast interview fail.

  • He looks like he's going to laugh/is angry lol.

  • Thierry Henry, Arsenal and now French Rugby legend

  • What a classy guy and such a wonderful player. Congrats Thierry!!

  • Don't know what Ian Smith is doing anywhere near a rugby field, he is an ex-crickteter. And even as a cricket commentator he is utter rubbish. Am appalled at Sky TV (in NZ) for employing him at all. Jon Preston is a far better aftermatch interviewer. Do us all a favour Ian Smith, give yourself a massive UPPERCUT and never show your stupid face on TV ever again.

  • Ian Smith probably thinks all French black guys look the same just like all Asians in NZ.

  • Comment removed

  • @kiwidan he looks like he was thinking 'What a moron..." oh and about the supposed-allegued-invisible eye gouging of dusautoir, just one thing to say : be ashamed of your horrible tabloid who spread a rumour to discredit the player of the year just because he is FRENCH (no, sorry it's not mccaw). Maybe this is the boobby prize for being robbed in a final of a world cup...

  • PLAYER Of the year 2011 , THIERRY HENRY ;) LEGEND !!!

  • lolololol

  • I can't believe that!!!!! Very sad....but i'm sure the fantastic THIERRY DUSAUTOIR wanted to laugh, such a beautiful man, well deserving of man of the match, and now IRB player of the year!!!!!! xxx

  • Joueur de l'année la classe.

  • I'm here :)

  • hahaha look at thierry eyes when ian smith says thierry henry first time haha

  • Player of the year 2011, Thierry Dusautoir !! Well Done

  • @aNNaWH0 I'd have given it too James Hook.... must have taken real effort to miss all those kicks from infront of the posts.... much credit to the guy he made it look so difficult, that can't have been easy!

  • @aNNaWH0 GTFOH.... he wasnt the player of the year...that was just another consolation prize for the French.. I'd put a Kaino 2011 highlight reel against his any day.....

  • @RealNigerianz GOOD FOR YOU!! -__-

  • french captain thierry dusautoir. nek minnit. well french captain thierry henry

  • haha yeah i heard this too! WAS CRACKUP!

  • Dusautoir was the man!! France were so good too. Congrats to NZ!!

  • Dusautoir should have corrected him haha but he totally deserved man of the match!!!

  • You absolute buffoon Ian Smith. I just hope you had the good grace to apologise in person to Dusautoir after the incident ? (ie not leave it with the cringe-inducing attempt to squirm out of it live on TV)

  • epic fail.

    what a lack of respect....

all credits to dusautoir for not laughing

i'm pretty sure that he was thiniking: "how dum is this guy?)

  • So he DID call him Thierry Henry. I thought i heard wrongly when watching it live. Epic fail!

  • My fucking god Smitty. Really. I mean really! Way to ruin the commentary and the whole occasion with that fuck up

  • @11vinci Yes, the whole occasion was well and truly ruined. Everything: ruined.

  • @musicwithout I'm glad you agree

  • Ian Smith .. so Full of Fail !!! lolz

  • I love how Thierry Dusautoir laugh. :)
