WOW!!!California!Being "immersed" in Spanish will be useful for the rest of your life. God luck to you and God bless your family. Remember, you are the sower od the seeds of faith; it's up to the Holy Spirit to inspire. Never think your words are lost/ineffective. It's about God, not you...and God does things in HIS time! Yeah, I'm excited about learning spanish because it's so widely used... it's not something I plan to just learn for 2 years and forget about. I think what you said is very important for anybody planning on serving a mission... we're just there to relay the message and the Holy Ghost is what's going to inspire and lead them to the truth. For me it's much easier to work for God as opposed to myself, cause I never know what I want.

I'm not even LDS but I admire the Church, LOVED Pres. Hinckley (I still get tears in my eyes when I think of him!!)and the "Saints" are such nice wonderful people. I'm keeping you in my prayers, David (Yes, the Lord listens to "pagans" like me!!!)to keep you safe, strong in your faith and a "fisher of men".Your goodness as a person is apparent(kudos to your loving family) & I hope you'll be unable to count ALL of your blessings!(Remeber to wash all your fruit in clean water when you get there!)

im looking up the place right now and it sounds really cool. its in northern san diego and right by the coast. theres art and music museums there and legoland haha.

Yeah, I was talking on a bluetooth headset to some people so they actually did respond, you just couldn't hear it. The most research I did on the area was going on google maps>street view and looking at the buildings.

lol i laughed when you read it. how exciting though! i know you are on a mission but do you think you'll be able to do some sightseeing as well? i think legoland is over there. i'm kind of glad you aren't going too far away with all the crazy weather going on in the world recently.

Yeah, I'll have a day off (or maybe it's a half-day?) once a week to do stuff like that, as long as it's in my area and it's not against mission rules.
