  • Thank you so much! my grandma gave me an old family native beadwork neclace which the thread broke and now ill be able to fix it! It means so much to me! Not only did you show me how to fix it, you also informed me it was made with a loom (which i will have to find) thank you so much again

  • Thanks for helping me i am a begining crafter and this video helped me out alot beacuse i am some times violent with my work :) ty

  • I haven't used my beading loom yet as I tend to be afraid of it. This should help a lot. I will give it a try once I can find it again.

  • how do you end your bracelets after you are done off of the loom

  • This is so helpful. I am learnig how to do beading on a loom. This is a little different then what i am use to. Thank you for sharing this video. Much appreciated.

  • Thanks so much! I'm a veteran jewelery beader and this is my first try at looming- I've crocheted beads before but never loomed. Your tips are great-and I also understand that you should "prepare" the thread by pre-stretching and waxing it right? I was also wondering if there is a way to tapper the ends so that I could use a 1-3 ring clasp? Like graduate the beads as you put them on? I live in Israel and they even use different sized beads like larger crystals on some of the work I've seen. Thx

  • I have just bought my first loom and I am having troubles with how to clasp off the ends, do you have any suggestions? Thank for uploading.

  • do you have to use a certain kind or # thread/beads or needle? i learned to do loom beading in school but i never kept interest but i would like to learn to bead again so i can teach my neices. i would like to see the finish work.

  • Very good video! I am teaching art students to do this and showed it in class. Helped a lot!

  • @mzjonze Hooray!! Glad that it was helpful. :)

  • I also double my end warp threads....provides extra strength for when I attach the finished strip to watch bands, belts, etc. :) I have a real nice hand made loom made by one of my fellow tribal members - big enough for belts etc. To keep my work straight, i get good quality beads and use a popscicle stick or something to line up the end rows. Hope this helps anyone with questions! Oh and I am Choctaw/Omaha in case anyone was wondering.

  • Also, how do you end it???

  • Where did you get the strawberry pincusion?

  • why aren't you going back through the previous row to stabilize your work.?

  • @newbeeder I only go back thru rows at the beginning and end of a piece of beadwork.

  • I haven't beaded until now and I have tried to look at so many videos and books but this one was clear and vivid. U really helped me out on my second try

  • @annfran123 Thank you. :) I hope you enjoy loom beading.

  • I have not loomed beads since I was 7 years old. I'm 41 now and your demo was awesome. I just learned how to peyote stitch. I want to get some Navajo rug design or pattern, Storm Pattern if you have any? thanks

  • how do you get your pattern for the necklaces? do you pre draw them out or just do it from your mind?

  • @pinkamarose The pattern in this video was just a random repeat i improvised. There are bead loom pattern books available from Amazon.com and from Fire Mountain & Gems Website. Your public library may have beading loom pattern books. You can also use cross stitch patterns for beadwork as long as they don't have half or quarter stitches. Hope that helps.

  • nice! :) but i waz just wondering wer can u buy the material to make thiz?

  • GREAT VIDEO! Few Quezstions! #1, looks like you have different sections of the necklace, how do you connnect them? #2, How do you Finish the necklace with a clasp? Thank you for sharing!!

  • i got a question how do you finish it because i have made bracelet but my teacher finish it for me but now I'm out of school and i don't know how .example of what i mean when your done you still have string left and if u cut it in the last part the bead will just all fall i remember i had to time it somewhere but i don't remember were

  • Where can you purchase this bead loom?

  • @DreamFashionTV

I got Mine at AC Moore

  • This video was very helpful - thanks! I'm an absolute beginner at bead weaving (after decades of cross stitch I decided it was time to branch out :), and now I *see* how it's supposed to look... the only thing I wish you had shown is what it looks like when you check your row if you missed a bead on the return pass...

  • @ExecutivePagan I think I showed that on one of my other videos. I will go check and add a reply with the video name.

  • @ExecutivePagan You are correct, that is missing from the videos. Time for another beading video!! :) I also need to show starting and ending the thread while making a larger beading project. Thank you for your comment.

  • @elizabethjunean Thanks, I'll look for it! :)

Do you have a recommendation for a loom that will warp close enough to fit 14/0 seed beads (of which I have a LOT)? I picked up a plastic loom at a yard sale, but after warping it up I see that was pretty obviously intended for a children's craft project, as it looks like it's scaled for pony beads... needless to say it didn't work too well with my seed beads!

  • @ExecutivePagan Yes I do. I have a larger loom that had bent springs. I replaced the springs with beads on beading thread taped across each end of the loom. You just use the beads that you will use for your project, the warp spacing will be perfect. I will use that loom in the video for showing how to see if you missed a bead when looming. Teach two things at once! :)

  • @elizabethjunean hm, I will have to wait for the video to see exactly how that works, I think :)

In the meantime, square stitch was pretty easy to figure out so I'm working my tiny little seed bead project off loom... thanks so much for the replies, and I'm definitely looking forward to the next video!

  • @elizabethjunean FYI, I finished that beading project, wound up doing it in square stitch... slower, but definitely more portable!

  • @ExecutivePagan True! Glad you were able to finish your project.

  • instead of a loom u can also use a piece of poster board to make a home made loom:)

  • @SuperMakeupstar :) Yes you can!! Good tip.

  • Hi, I'm just starting my bead looming hobby.. And was wanting to know different options to end a bracelet or anklet. Like doing something that's adjustable with leather tie or even a clasp with loops. Or any suggestions/advice.. Oh and where do you get your beads? I'm having a hard time finding solids (not iridescent) in all colors..

    Thanks ~T

  • Well I do beading on a loom .....but you don't need a stop bead.....that would be if you are doing a flat peyote stitch.....but hey I guess if it works for you go for it!!!

  • @apacheflower The stop bead is to help beginners control their tension and help start the first row of beads.

  • @elizabethjunean I understand why you do the stop bead but for some that are just learning it may be easier to tie the weaving string to the warp thread ...... just a suggestion since I have been beading since I was young (I learned from my elders) and just thought it would helpful since you don't need a stop bead .... but whatever....whatever works for you!!!

  • I also forgot to mention that I am saying there is just more than one way to do the loom.......and I also learned something as well :0) Had no idea the lil strawberry was used to sharpen needles!!!

  • @apacheflower I thought I had shown how to tie on the thread to start the beading on one of my earlier videos, but I will have to check. I need to make another to show how to end and start the thread while beading. But my near sighted vision has now become more far sighted, making it harder to see after beading. I was told by elders not to bead at night. They were right of course. :)

  • @elizabethjunean Well don't feel bad my eyesight is going to hell in a hand-basket as well.....lol....just wanted to ask do you ever weave your ends before beading and after.......for me it makes it easy to fold the the threads under when sewing on buckskin or do you tape you ends as I have seen some do? Thanks!!!!

  • @apacheflower Yes I weave at both ends and then use tape over that and fold the ends under the work. I have also weaved each end up into the beadwork so there is nothing to fold to the back.

  • I also forgot to mention that I am saying there is just more than one way to do the loom.......and I also learned something as well :0) Had no idea the lil strawberry was used to sharpen needles!!! Thanks!!!

  • @apacheflower The stop bead is also useful for maintaining tension for brick stitch, herringbone stitch and square stitch. Using the stop bead for loom work can help beginners make loom work with no knots and help them place their first row.

  • Hi! I just watched your video on the necklace with the green , gold and white. Thank you for the great closeup. Ususally I'm half blind trying to see what people are doing! Anyway, I have been doing nothing but buying beads, books and now a loom! I;m great at organizing, lol, but feel overwhelmed to start. I first started the peyote stitch by hand, (whew!) and have no idea how to end it and put the clasps on. Now I went out and bought a loom yesterday to further complicate things! Help! lol

  • @margdel1 What type of clasps are you trying to use for the peyote project? How many beads across is your peyote pattern? :)

  • Thanks for responding! I have no idea!!! what I'm doing! lol! I did get two more books in today though! lol! I figured i'd figure that out as I went along! I did do a peyote stitch by hand which came out rather nice but I have no idea what to do to close it off seeing as how I do not have any threads left. I tried sewing on a button, that didn't work. I tried putting on a bunch of beads into a ball, that didn't work. I guess I am doing something wrong!
