@LeMiasaa I was given a female green cheek conure because she would have had no socializtion at home. Her owner worked very long hours so she passed her on to me. Of course she bites. But she is very very bright. She is not taught anything but learns by herself. She loves to dance and watch conures on the pc dance. I am 76 and at home most of the day so she has lots of company. I have 4 cockatiels, 3 finches and Snoop my conure. They all started as fosters..

what u got there is a Sunday conure. its a mix of a sun and Jenday conure. but dont scoff at it because its a mutt! this is more beautiful than either purebred birds! i also have a Sunday but it has a bit more yellow on its back/neck/wings. prices range from $200-500. i believe purebred suns cost the most for reasons unknown. its like how a mitsubishi 3000gt is worth more than a dodge stealth....ITS THE SAME CAR!

I'm pretty sure that this isn't a sun conure, but a JENDAY Conure. And a young one at that, given all the green on him/her. When I got my Bodi (A true sun conure) He was only a couple months old. Granted the breeder kept him till he was weened of course, but when I did get to bring him home, he was still covered in green. BUT there was alot of yellow and orange showing through.

I think it's a sun, a lot of the green should turn into orange.

Even for a baby Sun that is a lot of green feathering. I personally think you have a Jenday which are great birds too! Eiather way you have a beautiful conure :) Have fun with your new friend. They're a handful but well worth it.

Sun Conure prices vary, but seem to be around $500 for a hand fed baby. A little more or less. Rescues are free.

With all due respect, I just saw several sun conures that look JUST like this one at PerSmart for $350 each. If you paid $700, I'm afraid you 'got taken'. Adorable bird though. Good luck with it.

USD vs AUS... If bought for $700 AUS that'd be $583 USD. A lot easier to import conures, native to South America, into the US than it is into Australia (now illegal in both countries), hence the higher price. Scarlet, you should compare prices of Rose Breasted Too's and Blue & Gold Macaws in both countries!

i spoke to a breeder i know he breeds hawk, wedge tail eagles, macaws, black cockatoos all high price birds and sayed that depending on hte breed of the Sun Conures the price is up and down

Yes i paid AU$700 for mine. But many cheeper birds do not have good heathy blood lines, Also what do you feed yours, mine is on a pelleted formulae with dried fruit and nuts. She also gets fresh fruit and veg

they really just look green when there a baby when i took that we only had it for a little while its got a lot more yellow and green then the other colors

yer thanks some mornings when my GF gets up the bird starts squawking its get really annoying at times.

but a nice bird i use to have the actual conure that was the bright yellow and the orange but i died of old age we had it for such a long time it was even talking it started to mimic some songs off the radio :)

Looks like a Jenday conure as they have green backs with a yellow front. They sometimes get confused with Sun Conures!

It's a baby. They are incredibly green when they are babies and only acquire their beautiful colors starting around 5 or 6 months of age...

This could be a sun conure depending on how old it is. Sun conures look identical to jenday conures until the sun go through there first 1-2 major molts where the yellow back feathers grow through more....gorgeous bird. I get mine tomorrow :D
