Why don't you consider it a "real" form of playing? Pianos are played by striking strings with little hammers. Fingers or hammers - what's the difference? I consider tapping to be yet another creative way to play the guitar.

i agree with you there!! but yet it seems as though a lot of people don't like being creative and aren't open to new things... everything we have right now, every instrument was started by some free spirit playing an instrument differently so yeah i agree completely with you there man... The sound is awful and the tune is a boring ragtimeish spoof. Bits and pieces of the entertainer and other famous bits are all over the place. I imagine this took a lot of practice. Next time try to get some feel for it, not just memorize the technical parts.

You can't discredit a such clear demonstration of skill.  His feel is fine and his unique arrangement is creative. You judge musicians on the wrong stuff. I bet you would prefer a midi arrangement that's perfect and sounds like a robot playing!

I believe you have no clue about ragtime go and educate yourself by listening to the entertainer and while you are at it the weepingwhillow is a nice one along with Pineapple rag and to get away from Scott Joplin try the Broadway rag .
