@vitaboy64 I hope someone posts those two songs and her others as well. She would be considered an Unsung singer. Should have made it big but didn't get the recognition that she truly deserves!
I was in 9th grade...and I got my first little cassette player. Everyday on the bus and subway, In would be boppin my head to Cheryl's tape...omg, GREAT memories coming up in Wash, DC...my hometown...lol
Thanks for sharing your disbeliefs with me....hahahaha. This song kinda drove me insane. I"m a European guy, still this drove me crazy. thanks, anyway.
You are RIGHT reiriopm, she should have been a superstar and I could never understand why she is somewhat forgotten. I have every one of her albums and every time she came out with a new one, I went right out and bought it. I remember in 1979 when her first came out I was all over it!!
There some things I will never understand in this world; but WHY??? isn't Cheryl Lynn a superstar singer because she is the total package qualification for superstardom!!!!!
the finger is there because the cover is of a polaroid (thats her picture coming out of the polaroid camera) and the finger just took the picture - you can see the entire camera easier on the vinyl cover.
OH! lmao I remember my uncle had the record an I was always like WTF who's finger is that an why is it there lmao. but I LOVE that record an this song is my favorite on it.
Dionne warwicks 1983 "how many times can we say goodbye"was also produced by luther vandross. It was panned by critics and it didnt particularly fare well with her fans as far as sales but i LOVE GOT A DATE and I DO IT CAUSE I LIKE IT
I may be mistaken (my memory is not what it once was) but I think they show a tiny part of Cheryl Lynn's Gong show appearance on VH1's "One Hit Wonder" show, though Lynn is far from a one hit wonder.
wow, I love this song, this singer, the Luther Vandross/Marcus Miller production, just everything. To top it off you've even got Luther singer background vocals along with the likes of Tawatha Agee, Brenda White-King, Fonzi Thornton & Michelle Cobbs - Luther's dream team of singers!
yeah, both this LP & Aretha's 'Jump To It' were produced by Luther alongside each other using the same production staff, singers etc... 2 very strong albums indeed that I can't stop playing even to this day!
Luther was a great songwriter and music producer, the R&B Music/dance music of the 80's was just so great. I remember this record my parents used to play it all the time..

Una de las mejores canciones de la época disco grabada en mi casete 39, la voz de Cheryl Lynn luce en toda su madurez y esplendor.

Because of her weight, now just imagine if she had just came out in 2009! It ain't about talent, it's about image, sad but true!!!!!

I love black artist smooth soothing voices! Thats why I don't agree to white people copying there style.

I hate when they call her a one hit wonder, She had plenty but they hardly play anything but " Encore" an " Got to be real"
MrSexxxy20 3 years ago 3
@MrSexxxy20 So true!!!! Lots of great songs. If I hear Encore during an old school mix one more time I'm not sure what I might do!!!!

@Tonia682 Yeah I mean I love Encore but she had soooo many hot ones! Some of which to me were hotter than Encore.
