Offensive to who? Surely not to the people who while holding my grandfather as a prisoner of war, carried out medical experiments on him that left him partially paralysed and unable to breathe properly for the rest of his life? If so, I am terribly sorry!
Brilliant as both Sariska and Midday have been during their career's. Before all is said and done, Snow Fairy's achievement's may end up eclipsing both of those great fillies?
I hope we get a chance to see Snow Fairy and Midday face each other again in 2011? Maybe in the Yorkshire Oaks again? Midday proved to be much the best in last year's Yorkshire Oaks. But in fairness, it wasn't until after that race and the St Leger that Snow Fairy came into the best form of her career. When she won this race, then went to Sha Tin and won the Hong Kong Cup. If Snow Fairy had already been in this kind of form at York? Not sure Midday could've beaten her that day? JMO.
Given the level of competition, and the number of G1 winning colt's that Snow Fairy defeated in the Hong Kong Cup. I'd have to say that's been the most impressive win of her career to date, competition wise. Coming into this race, I would've said her performance in the Irish Oaks was her most impressive as far as dominating a field. But this win eclipsed that. This was an incredible effort by Snow Fairy. When Moore ask her to go, she looked like she had been shot out of a cannon. Incredible!!!
@GBeret83 As a February 20, 2011 it looks more and more likely Ed Dunlop will be sending Snow Fairy to Dubai, though the race (World Cup, Sheema Classic or Duty Free) hasn't been decided. If it is the World Cup it would mean a showdown with Buena Vista! Every exciting, but I wish it was the Sheema Classic; I don't know about Snow Fairy, but Buena Vista has never run on synthetic, and the Cup is a little short at 2000m. But if it happens I'm not going to miss it!
@711ATOM, The way Snow Fairy ran the 10f of the Hong Kong Cup, I don't think the distance of the DWC would be a problem for her at all. The big question for Snow Fairy and Buena Vista is surface, IMO. I tend to agree with you. I'd much rather see Snow Fairy and Buena Vista go head to head over 12f on the turf in the Sheema Classic. That's where they'd both be at their best. JMO.
What Snow Fairy accomplished just in her 3yr.old season alone is a career's worth of win's for most G1 level fillies and mares. The Epsom-Irish Oaks double. 2nd to a world class filly in Midday in the Yorkshire Oaks. 4th against the boys in the St Leger. Then she travels to Japan and Hong Kong and pulls off a major G1 double. Winning this race in Japan and the Hong Kong Cup at Sha Tin. Not another horse in the world in any better form than Snow Fairy is right now. IMO.
seems like the Jap cameraman didn't notice that Snow Fairy had taken the lead...

@PrincessPignatelli FYI: The abbreviation of Japanese that you used is generally regarded as offensive (And I am not Japanese).
