I finally recognized where the tall woman in red (standing next to Sally Hawkins) is from. Her name is Rebekah Staton, and I first saw her in the TV mini-series Tess of the D'urbervilles (2008) some time ago. She had blond hair then. She played Marion, friend and fellow milkmaid of Tess Durbeyfield (played by Gemma Arterton). I hope to see more of her in the future as well.
I just saw Karina Fernandez's performance in Mike Leigh's most recent film Another Year (2010), and I still can't believe she is the flamenco instructor in this film. She is completely different!!!! I'm so amazed. That's really great acting on her part.
I noticed Mike Leigh uses some of the same actors in several of his films (e.g. Ruth Sheen and Imelda Staunton). Hopefully we will see more of Ms. Fernandez in the near future. Fingers crossed!
Best scene of the movie and so so well acted! You emediately wish for a flamenco teacher like this. Even if u have nothing with flamenco you want to take lessons cause of this teacher!
haha....her friend is the woman from the 80's Carlsberg commercial 'The water from Majorca'. Look it up. I loved that commercial when I was a kid...haha
Of course, a flamenco teacher in a film is not a represantation of people from the south of Spain! Everybody knows it. It's made with a funny point of view. Sally Hawkins: wonderful, amazing in this role, I enjoied this film very much.
This is the best 4 minutes fo the movie. Also the best performance of the year. This actress is superb inth is role. Where was her oscar nomination?????
'excuse me, how many sugar you want in your tea?' hahaha.

It got raving reviews...
I don't get it... nothing happened in it. The girl is unrealistically happy... and just annoying to be honest.
She starts taking driving lessons with a polar opposite miserable git of an instructor.
She finds a boy friend and the driving instructor gets very angry and jealous.
She stops having driving lessons.
The end...
Unfunny dull and annoyingly predictive innuendo dialogue.
Very poor...

Here is Seville we are not like that, i have no accent, at least not like Rosita, and i can't dance Flamenco (actually i don't like it).
Come to Seville, there's a lot of things to do...
