My my, another hostile KMBA Obamabot. Why am I not surprised. ~Yawn~ Donna Brazile needs to resign, flat out and all the other idiots who came up with so many lame rules in the DNC - HRC would be accepting the nomination this week if it wasn't for the inaccurate process of calculating delegates. Mute point, Obama (change) + Biden (way old insider from the hill) = cancels out any hope of a democratic victory. So vent your anger towards old postings all you want, we all know Obama is toast.
She only says she'll resign if the process is shut down. I don't know much about Donna so I'll ask: is she a lawyer? Because the key is what she defined as 1. "process" ( she'd say the primaries) and 2. "shut down" (she'd say letting every primary be counted except Michigan and Florida until BO changed his mind these last few weeks). Either way, good luck getting rid of her.
I think the DNC need to let the people to decide who should be the nominee of the party and not some fucking idiot superdelegate. What we need is to have a winner take all,so we don't have this kind of fucking mess next time around.
When you give power to black people they misuse it for race purposes. Black revenge. Black/White war is coming when Obama loses. I got two word for Donna. "Fuck You". The white people gave you opportunities and you turn it into race crap.
I remember her saying that if the Super Delegates went against the will of the people that she would quit the Democratic Party. Well...since Hillary got more votes than any candidate in primary history, we are waiting on Donna's resignation...and she can take Dean and Pelosi with her.
Yeah & they can take Richardson's sorry arse too. They are all headed for falling in the big black of treachery and deceit. In fact, I hope the Clinton's really ARE keeping a list of power hungry officials who sold them out for 20 pcs of silver. What goes around, comes around! Donna Brazile, Sharpton, and their ilk claimed neutrality/uncommitted throughout the primary process. Liars.
COME ON DONNA JUST SAY THAT YOU ALWAYS SUPPORTER OBAMA INSTEAD OF LYING AND SAYING THAT YOU ARE UNDECIDED. GET A LIFE..YOU DIVIDED THE PARTY VOTING AGAINST HILLARY.FL AND MI SHOULD COUNT FULL VOTES.
Hypocrisy! Black Card BS thrown out all the time! FkTHAT! It's Hillary or NO ONE! GOT that Obama trolls!??! No Hillary Clinton Voter is going to vote for your racist, sexist, plagiarist jerk pig! No more Hype! No more BS! No More kool-aid, mind emotion fear exploitation and emotional manipulation by your bambi! This is bigger that You, it's about Our Country too! So no more Barack! NOT NOW NOT EVER! Hillary or NO ONE! Yes this is bigger than You, it's about Our Country! So there!
I'm so sick of it! The black card , your a racist for having a mind and a pair of eyes these days! How about we take back equality for all! I'm done with racism if they're done with sexism! I at least have integrity, Barack and his Mafia does NOT!
So, you'd rather suffer for another 4 to 8years under a continuation of Bush politics just to make an invalid point? That's mature. Real mature. Sign me up. I may forelose on my home and walk 40 miles to work everyday because I can't afford gas prices and place my kids into questionable schools but dammit I'll show Obama who's boss!!!!!
Yeah, I would rather plug my nose & vote for McCain than a wannabe "1st African American Pres" who will get us all killed from terror attacks & has proven faulty judgement on anything important! I'll take my chances with McCain if it can't be Hillary! By the way, it will be interesting to see the reaction of the Obama loving media/supporters on election day when they see Hillary supporters meant what they said! They will see we all either voted for McCain or stayed home! told ya so!
Personally at this point I could give a shit who you or any other white-only-voter votes for. It is statistically impossible for Obama to have even made it this far. So anything in his favor beyond this point is a mere bonus. As far as Obama getting us killed, Bush has gotten and is getting thousands of soldiers killed over LIE! Not terrorism. There's good judment for ya. Mcain wishes to follow the same path for 100 years. There's good judgment for ya.
You are right - Bush did get our people killed and I despise him more than you could know - the SOB. And you assume I am white because I'm not voting for Obama? That's pretty racist. I would never vote Obama because of his racist associations, his lack of judgement and complete lack of experience. He wants power for whatever reason (as yet unknown) & will do ANYTHING to get it. Don't care how people vote, huh? Then STFU!
Hey Rainy...I haven't been here in a while but I thought it was worth it to come back just to invite you not only to STFU but as an added bonus you can KMBA! Good day.
I'm going to vote for Obama. I voted for Hilary in the primary but I think this is bad for the process. "A brokered convention would be bad for either party." H. Dean. I think this is a bad precedent and it's going to hurt the Democrats in the future.
you young dumb and full of cumm. stupid ass bitch.I am married with 4 kids and in love with my husband. who are you sleeping with, you inbred ,lesbian white trailer trash downsyndrome baby? FUCK YU
You must be the one carpet munching sense you are so homophobic and bought it up first. you are worried about who she is sleeping with , rather than the price of gas, food, and affordable health care. VOTE DUMB BITCH,
hahaha go stick your fat dildo in your mouth cunt... ur gay hubby and retarded kids are just as fucked up as u are, u ugly bitch, shit for brains, dumb whore.. ahhahahahaha.. stupid cunt
Each superdelegate's vote is the equivalent of 10,000 votes. SDs have no place in a process (voting = counting hands) to get to what the majority of voters prefer. It's not about "Which policy do you think has the best chance of winning?". If winning was what the founding fathers intended as the purpose for voting, imagine what would be the law because people voted on what they thought OTHER people wanted and would vote for. Look at any poll which made you go, "Huh? More want what?"
hahaha nice party, you guys are going to screw this up, super delagates are not elected, sounds like some sort of fascism, nice, hillary for furer, you guys are begging to loose this race
Amazing. How in the hell can voters be happy with this process? This is a train wreck. The democratic party is going to be lucky to exist at all after this mess.
So Saddam Hussein's intelligence agency secretly financed a trip to Iraq for three liberal Democrats: Jim McDermott of Washington, David Bonior of Michigan and Mike Thompson of California. Perhaps, like Hillary, they will also make up a story about landing under sniper fire.
There's a big problem with the "popular vote" crap. The total that Hellray is counting on doesn't include Iowa, Nevada, Washington & Maine. Hellray only won Nevada and lost the other three. Future president Obama will have an even larger lead in the "popular vote" total when these states are included. Don't believe Hellray's bull. It's time for change. Let's stop the Bush/Clinton criminal junta that has occupied the executive branch since 1981.
The democratic party is anything but democratic - Super delegates- hypocrites! If you are a party of the people then let the people choose - whomever they choose - Hilary or Obama - who ever has the most votes should be the canidates - and you have to include Michigan and Florida!
I may not be a democrat, but I do admire Donna Brazille.
You couldnt pay me to vote for a republican and of all the former clinton people on CNN (james carville, paul begala and Donna)Donna seems to be the only one to put the peoples interests above party establishment interests.
In the Democrate party voters don't get to choose the 848 delegates that are called superdelegates and comprise a whopping 40% of the delegates needed to get the Presidential nomination. Who are the superdelegates? They are the unelected big-wigs of the party. People like Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Democrate National Committee. The Republican party doesn't have superdelegates members.
This was very informative. I wasn't exactly clear on what a superdelegate was, and now knowing their specific role I definitely agree with their existence for the primaries. Say I just got cable and don't have a car nor a bus pass to go to a rally, and I vote for Obama because he looks better than Hilary and her slaphappy appearance. I don't think my vote should carry as much weight because I am not as informed and/or knowledgeable about each candidates political capabilites. That said, Obama 08
If it is hard to decide with a democratic process, BE CREATIVE; use a lucky non-bias process 50/50 chance, FLIP A QUARTER. Who will be head, who will be tail???
I would like to know what you think about this issue; is the Democratic Party really SUPER DEMOCRATIC like the word in its name "DEMOCRATIC" implied???
The Republican Party uses both primary and caucus. The Democratic Party does not use primary; it uses caucus; now will use Super Delegates. It sounds like the Republican Party is MORE DEMOCRATIC than the Democratic Party itself!!! JUDGE THE MEANING BY ITS PROCESS.
Please learn the process before shooting your mouth off. Caucus and primaries varies state by state WITHIN the seperate parties...not by party alone. Jeezzz, a little knowledge is such a dangerous thing. Listen to talk radio much?
Not just talking about process,i am comparing process of both parties;we all want a real democracy.Let me give you some examples if you have not been doing the listening and comparisons.Let's talk about law and justice and civil right:the current Republican Party only fired 8 or 9 attorneys vs the previous Democratic Party fired 93 attorneys;in Waco Texas over 70 Americans died including children,do we hear any congressional hearing??? Reno still did a good job.Now even Bin Laddin pledges the D.
Wow, you have a real nack for skipping around topics and pulling out facts that paint a picture you want to be true; Democratics are evil.
You said, "The Democratic Party does not use primary" You are wrong. Why is that? Are you more interested in being accurate or in your world view being proven true by only absorbing info that fits into it?
Your new topics? Investigate them yourself. I don't have the time to correct every half-truth Rush and Oreilly have polluted your brain with.
Do you really understand about real democracy & justice? If the Democratic Party has primary & does not count the outcome, what do you think? Does it use primary? If you said yes, you have been brain washed! If you do not hear what you are missing, please tune to Rush & Oreilly as you mentioned, they might get more valuable info to broaden your knowledge. Let me tell you that a lot of conservative democrats are leaving the party after learning the discussion about DEMOCRACY.
I didn't switch topics, why do you keep jumping around? You made a claim and than followed that up with a conclusion. Your claim was flat out false.
I did not comment once about my opinion on the primary process in either party which I have many faults with.
You were wrong, you can't admit it. We are not talking wrong on an opinion, we are talking FACTUALLY wrong. Is this how you handle it in your real life whenever you are wrong?
And FYI, the Democratic Party does use primaries and count them in many states. Why do you insist on talking about subjects you clearly know nothing about?
Both the state and national party has it's preverbial head up its arse but you make statements that show you won't know either way because you don't actually know the system that you have no problem shooting your mouth off about.
"Better to remain silent and be thought the fool then...."
Tell Americans if you think using superdelegates is democratic. Tell Americans in which states the Democratic Party counts the primary results. And this is America,do you know what it means? DEMOCRACY & FREEDOM & JUSTICE. Americans need a government by the people AND for the people. Americans have freedom including in speech and expression. Americans need to organize and can not shut their mouths; only the fools will do under the oppressions and then the democracy, freedom, and justice will die.
Don't even know what you are babbling about anymore. You clearly don't know how to stay on topic. Maybe a 9/11 reference is needed somewhere in your rant.
The whole discussion is right there ^^^ for your review. Admit you were wrong, admit you changed topic when you were confronted for being wrong, admit your brain knows way less then your mouth.
Admit you don't even understand the nomination process, fair or not, you only know what talk radio tells you to know.
Let me stick to my topic: please tell me and everybody who want to know what states that you know that the Democratic Party uses the results of the primary and where you learn it from. Do you think that using the Super Delegates by the Democratic Party is democratic ???
"The Republican Party uses both primary and caucus. The Democratic Party does not use primary; it uses caucus;"
This is false, untrue, fiction, the opposite of reality, etc.
You want to concede this and move on, fine. You want to just move on, its not happening. Discussing anything with someonw who can't admit their own mistakes is pointless.
Surprisingly you will find me in agreement on super delegates but until you get your facts straight we are at a standstill.
Will need Howard Dean to explain and inform the general public about the selection process and changes that have happened because even some democrats do not know about these stuffs and scratch their heads too. In some state(s), I hear that they use caucus and primary which comes next is not counted; what a waste! Thanks that we learn something we do not know.
When is the US going to have real elections instead of "SELECTIONS"?
The superdelegate system and electoral college winner-take-all fiasco are fraudulent, anti-democratic, eltist tools to leave 'we the people' out of the equation in deciding on the future course and fate of our nation...
Donna Brazil's defense of the Super Delegate is difficult to accept in this day and age. I accept she is waiting to see how all the "regular people" vote, but than what is the purpose--the measure was introduced by the dems as an elitist measure, no argument can make it otherwise, it should be abolished in the future. Having said that, it is still a far more democratic process for picking a nominee than exists in my country, Canada.
Who the hell decide superdelegate is a good idea. I bet you they didn't even let people vote wheather to approve or disapprove of the superdelegate system. I have no doubt people will vote against it. This is an unconstitutional system because it strips the people right from getting their voice heard. So the fact that they implement it without the people consent is a CRIME!! Because after all, didn't the Constitution say the president should b elected by the people???
Superdelegate's were created in 1984 by Walter Mondale when he was afraid that Gary Hart was going to beat him. Just and established way to cheat or buy the votes to make you the winner. Kinda like what hc is doing or at least trying to do.
Hi, I am not American but just have to say this. The constitution says that the president will be elected by the people. But it did not says that the nominated candidate have to be elected by the people.
Many of the superdelegates who could well decide the Democratic presidential nominee have already been plied with campaign contributions by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton
Maybe SDs should get their one vote that we all get as citizens only? Why should SDs' have any ability to nullify any other citizens' votes? That's not a democracy.
Maybe SDs should get their one vote that we all get as citizens only? Why should SDs' have any ability to nullify any other citizens' votes? That's not a democracy.
Because they have an expertise that it is impossible for the average American to have. I don't mind it at all. Sure it's two votes, but I believe they will do what is ultimately right for the party. You don't agree, oh well. They know this game better than you, and better than me!
#1 - You think SD Jason Rae, 21 years old, who has never voted in an election before (still in school, doesn't have a job or pay taxes, doesn't have a wife, kids, mortgage) has more "expertise than the average American"?
#2 - That's not democracy. One person, one vote only.
The only possible benefit that I can see to the concept of superdelegates is in the off-chance that the two candidates are tied or nearly tied for the delegate count, but one candidate has a clear majority of the popular vote. In this instance, I could see where the superdelegates could solve the problem by voting for the candidate that won in their particular state. In other words, they could be the "tie-breakers" in this instance.
First of all, the superdelegates system was not created just last week to favor Hilary. It's been part of the democratic system since the 80's. I don't agree with this system either but what if both Barack and Hilary end up with less than the required minimum of delegates to win? At this point, that is exactly what will probably happen. If all the superdelegates vote as they should and not be persuaded by Barack, Hilary or momentum, then it could work and I don't think that would be a scam.
They need to vote as their voters did. This is a Democracy. Ignoring the people's voice is the kind of bad politics we are trying to get rid of. Hilliary is saying screw the american ppl. She is dividing the party and could care less about what the ppl think. This is what her 35 years of experience has taught her. She said it is not about how many states you win, it is all about the delegates. This is another dirty trick to keep ppl from voting. Don't fall for her dirty tricks.
tabber we may be a republic but we are ALSO a democracy. Isn't that what we are trying to spread all across the world no matter who we have to kill if they refuse? This is the point private political parties should be reformed with rules that INCLUDE the ppl. This is the kind of establishment that needs to CHANGE!
We're not ALSO a democracy, that's an impossibility. If we were a democracy we wouldn't be having a discussion on the election of public officials because the people would make policy decisions directly, which, to the contrary of any windbag populist is never a good idea. The founders knew this and thus set up a republican form of government. But don't take my word for it, read Federalist 10. If the people don't feel that private political parties are reflective of their views VOTE INDEPENDENT.
a more direct democracy would be A-OK with me. We would all have to educate each other then, and everyone would damn sure care about the education and welfare of the least among us.
Most voters today couldn't tell you the detailed positions of any candidate on any issue. The idea that the American people would be more responsible and "educate each other" in their voting on policy issues is ridiculous. Most people support Obama because he's pro-hope. They couldn't tell you exactly what he stands for. The same goes for conservative supporters of McCain.
I'm sure you've done extensive objective research and surveys to back up your fatalistic assumptions. I'm sure your opinion has nothing whatsoever to do with your inborn and environmentally-conditioned proclivities toward disparaging hope and ridiculing the intelligence of "most people".
We the People are our only hope.
I support Obama and I am damn well brimming with pertinent facts and reasons why. I think you are projecting your bias with little evidence to show.
The idea that the American people, who rank consistently at the bottom of all the industrialized nations in the world on aptitude tests, are going to take it upon themselves to become educated on the issues when the elect buffoons like Carter, Bush 1, Bush 2, or any of the present candidates, is simply silly. These are people who are spoon fed their ideas by the likes of Bill O'Reilly and Keith Olbermann. Quit being so quixotic.
I seriously just clicked back and saw you responded, so I'm seriously not sitting here clicking the refresh button lol.
I guess my point that while Americans are not genetically less intelligent, they are, due to a number of factors, lazy and I don't see how giving them more power can possibly change that. It's akin to sitting an alcoholic in a bar and giving them free access to the liquor. I'm not saying authoritarianism is an acceptable alternative, I just don't see there being any solution.
Again, I bet we agree that a truly benevolent dictator would be dreamy. but I will bet on the dawning (& viral) (self-)awareness of the people before I would bet on the wisdom, benevolence, or freedom from corruption of power in the hands of the few. I'm basically as cynical as you, I think (lol) but I am trying to reform. I'm aiming for cautious optimism, or an enlightened cynicism, if you like.
She is correct, it IS about the delegates not the states. That's why there is that magic number of 12 hundred something delegates that you must win to take the nomination of your party. Having more states under your belt just means bragging rights, that's all and if you only win a lot of states but little insignificant ones, it still doesn't mean much. She didn't make up these rules buddy so I don't know what tricks you're talking about.
They need 2025 delegates to win the nomination. If this is not reached by either or if it is to close to call then they will call in the SD.(Or if hc doesn't receive the votes she wants)
2 votes!!! and I guess each is worth 10,000 ordinary votes?! Correct me if Im wrong here but how can one person worth 20,000 ordinary vote in a democratic nation? Very Bizzare. This needs to be fixed. People, please search in google for
"democrats for democracy petition"
and sign your petition against this shameful undemocratic scam.
louis Even though i believe that the Superdelegates are bs in behalf of Donna, she is an activist and from Louisiana and also a member of the senate in Washington DC. This gives her two votes. As you can see from the primaries in both states she will vote for the will of her ppl. She is one of the few that understand what that power means
If the super delegates override the regular delegate's decision, I am done with the democratic party, especially after a bunch of judicial cronies decided the 2000 election.
Whats all this bull about Super delegates? I have a feeling that something is brewing in washington to hijack this election with "super delegates" even if Obama wins most votes and pledge delegates. Super delegates my ass! Do we really need them to decide our future? Does this means our votes dont count? Is our democracy being stolen away from us? And we preach democracy and call our society democratic? This is Making me getting really angry here.
imagine a black man who wins the popular vote but denied nomination by those called superdelegates or the party gatekeepers. what kind of message will this send to the world? will the lady President be a credible champion of democracy in the world? I cannot imagine the Democratic Party will act so foolishly and in total contradiction with its name. if Clinton does not get the popular majority but still nominated with the help of the party insiders, this will trigger a party revolution.
I am puzzled as to how one person in a democratic process has more rights than everyone else ? Does that smack of some sort of Junta process or the communist way of manipulateing there power for themselves while the people pay for there greed.
orgonite placed every where by a few good people does the job,it transforms negative energy to positive energy,it works on all evil things, make it place it,its up to you..
Two votes!!!! One of which counts for roughly 10,000 normal people votes. It's bad enough that elected officials have this kind of authority because it lends itself to deals, favors, bribes, etc., but Donna Brazil for instance was appointed a super delegate bureaucratically. Did you hear her mention who gave her that power? That's right, the Clinton Machine. Now, she sounds very committed to letting voters decide, but can you imagine how much pressure is on her from the Clintons?
Here's the trick "and they do not have to answer to or even consider what you want" Well, neither does anyone else. "We" don't have to give two hoots who these people are. Just cause they're on TV? Who cares. No one has to answer to them or even consider what they want!
If all people were as sincere as Donna Brazil seems to be, then there would be no problem, but any system of elitism ("super" delegates), I fear, will be abused.
damn right i dont want to see that bitch in spandex!!!

Then STFU!

Future president Obama will have an even larger lead in the "popular vote" total when these states are included. Don't believe Hellray's bull. It's time for change.
KamikazeKoscki 3 years ago

Who will be head, who will be tail???
nocatnowaco 3 years ago
I would like to know what you think about this issue; is the Democratic Party really SUPER DEMOCRATIC like the word in its name "DEMOCRATIC" implied???
nocatnowaco 3 years ago
The Republican Party uses both primary and caucus. The Democratic Party does not use primary; it uses caucus; now will use Super Delegates. It sounds like the Republican Party is MORE DEMOCRATIC than the Democratic Party itself!!! JUDGE THE MEANING BY ITS PROCESS.
nocatnowaco 3 years ago
Please learn the process before shooting your mouth off. Caucus and primaries varies state by state WITHIN the seperate parties...not by party alone. Jeezzz, a little knowledge is such a dangerous thing. Listen to talk radio much?
Hopeful71 3 years ago
Not just talking about process,i am comparing process of both parties;we all want a real democracy.Let me give you some examples if you have not been doing the listening and comparisons.Let's talk about law and justice and civil right:the current Republican Party only fired 8 or 9 attorneys vs the previous Democratic Party fired 93 attorneys;in Waco Texas over 70 Americans died including children,do we hear any congressional hearing??? Reno still did a good job.Now even Bin Laddin pledges the D.
nocatnowaco 3 years ago
Wow, you have a real nack for skipping around topics and pulling out facts that paint a picture you want to be true; Democratics are evil.
You said, "The Democratic Party does not use primary" You are wrong. Why is that? Are you more interested in being accurate or in your world view being proven true by only absorbing info that fits into it?
Your new topics? Investigate them yourself. I don't have the time to correct every half-truth Rush and Oreilly have polluted your brain with.
Hopeful71 3 years ago
Do you really understand about real democracy & justice? If the Democratic Party has primary & does not count the outcome, what do you think? Does it use primary? If you said yes, you have been brain washed! If you do not hear what you are missing, please tune to Rush & Oreilly as you mentioned, they might get more valuable info to broaden your knowledge. Let me tell you that a lot of conservative democrats are leaving the party after learning the discussion about DEMOCRACY.
nocatnowaco 3 years ago
I didn't switch topics, why do you keep jumping around? You made a claim and than followed that up with a conclusion. Your claim was flat out false.
I did not comment once about my opinion on the primary process in either party which I have many faults with.
You were wrong, you can't admit it. We are not talking wrong on an opinion, we are talking FACTUALLY wrong. Is this how you handle it in your real life whenever you are wrong?
Hopeful71 3 years ago
And FYI, the Democratic Party does use primaries and count them in many states. Why do you insist on talking about subjects you clearly know nothing about?
Both the state and national party has it's preverbial head up its arse but you make statements that show you won't know either way because you don't actually know the system that you have no problem shooting your mouth off about.
"Better to remain silent and be thought the fool then...."
Hopeful71 3 years ago
Tell Americans if you think using superdelegates is democratic. Tell Americans in which states the Democratic Party counts the primary results. And this is America,do you know what it means? DEMOCRACY & FREEDOM & JUSTICE. Americans need a government by the people AND for the people. Americans have freedom including in speech and expression. Americans need to organize and can not shut their mouths; only the fools will do under the oppressions and then the democracy, freedom, and justice will die.
nocatnowaco 3 years ago
Don't even know what you are babbling about anymore. You clearly don't know how to stay on topic. Maybe a 9/11 reference is needed somewhere in your rant.
The whole discussion is right there ^^^ for your review. Admit you were wrong, admit you changed topic when you were confronted for being wrong, admit your brain knows way less then your mouth.
Admit you don't even understand the nomination process, fair or not, you only know what talk radio tells you to know.
Hopeful71 3 years ago
Let me stick to my topic: please tell me and everybody who want to know what states that you know that the Democratic Party uses the results of the primary and where you learn it from. Do you think that using the Super Delegates by the Democratic Party is democratic ???
nocatnowaco 3 years ago
"The Republican Party uses both primary and caucus. The Democratic Party does not use primary; it uses caucus;"
This is false, untrue, fiction, the opposite of reality, etc.
You want to concede this and move on, fine. You want to just move on, its not happening. Discussing anything with someonw who can't admit their own mistakes is pointless.
Surprisingly you will find me in agreement on super delegates but until you get your facts straight we are at a standstill.
Hopeful71 3 years ago
Will need Howard Dean to explain and inform the general public about the selection process and changes that have happened because even some democrats do not know about these stuffs and scratch their heads too. In some state(s), I hear that they use caucus and primary which comes next is not counted; what a waste! Thanks that we learn something we do not know.

When is the US going to have real elections instead of "SELECTIONS"?
The superdelegate system and electoral college winner-take-all fiasco are fraudulent, anti-democratic, eltist tools to leave 'we the people' out of the equation in deciding on the future course and fate of our nation...
aragee 4 years ago
Donna Brazil's defense of the Super Delegate is difficult to accept in this day and age. I accept she is waiting to see how all the "regular people" vote, but than what is the purpose--the measure was introduced by the dems as an elitist measure, no argument can make it otherwise, it should be abolished in the future. Having said that, it is still a far more democratic process for picking a nominee than exists in my country, Canada.
devo196047 4 years ago
Who the hell decide superdelegate is a good idea. I bet you they didn't even let people vote wheather to approve or disapprove of the superdelegate system. I have no doubt people will vote against it. This is an unconstitutional system because it strips the people right from getting their voice heard. So the fact that they implement it without the people consent is a CRIME!! Because after all, didn't the Constitution say the president should b elected by the people???
reptilexcq 4 years ago
Superdelegate's were created in 1984 by Walter Mondale when he was afraid that Gary Hart was going to beat him. Just and established way to cheat or buy the votes to make you the winner. Kinda like what hc is doing or at least trying to do.

Because they have an expertise that it is impossible for the average American to have. I don't mind it at all. Sure it's two votes, but I believe they will do what is ultimately right for the party. You don't agree, oh well. They know this game better than you, and better than me!
muzikalguy19 3 years ago
#1 - You think SD Jason Rae, 21 years old, who has never voted in an election before (still in school, doesn't have a job or pay taxes, doesn't have a wife, kids, mortgage) has more "expertise than the average American"?
#2 - That's not democracy. One person, one vote only.
Mannyfrom 3 years ago
The only possible benefit that I can see to the concept of superdelegates is in the off-chance that the two candidates are tied or nearly tied for the delegate count, but one candidate has a clear majority of the popular vote. In this instance, I could see where the superdelegates could solve the problem by voting for the candidate that won in their particular state. In other words, they could be the "tie-breakers" in this instance.
windsun74 4 years ago
First of all, the superdelegates system was not created just last week to favor Hilary. It's been part of the democratic system since the 80's. I don't agree with this system either but what if both Barack and Hilary end up with less than the required minimum of delegates to win? At this point, that is exactly what will probably happen. If all the superdelegates vote as they should and not be persuaded by Barack, Hilary or momentum, then it could work and I don't think that would be a scam.
doetim 4 years ago
They need to vote as their voters did. This is a Democracy. Ignoring the people's voice is the kind of bad politics we are trying to get rid of. Hilliary is saying screw the american ppl. She is dividing the party and could care less about what the ppl think. This is what her 35 years of experience has taught her. She said it is not about how many states you win, it is all about the delegates. This is another dirty trick to keep ppl from voting. Don't fall for her dirty tricks.

The U.S. is a republic not a democracy, and these are private political parties. They have nothing to do with the structure of the government.
tabber87 4 years ago
tabber we may be a republic but we are ALSO a democracy. Isn't that what we are trying to spread all across the world no matter who we have to kill if they refuse? This is the point private political parties should be reformed with rules that INCLUDE the ppl. This is the kind of establishment that needs to CHANGE!
Dennyc52 4 years ago
We're not ALSO a democracy, that's an impossibility. If we were a democracy we wouldn't be having a discussion on the election of public officials because the people would make policy decisions directly, which, to the contrary of any windbag populist is never a good idea. The founders knew this and thus set up a republican form of government. But don't take my word for it, read Federalist 10. If the people don't feel that private political parties are reflective of their views VOTE INDEPENDENT.
tabber87 4 years ago
a more direct democracy would be A-OK with me. We would all have to educate each other then, and everyone would damn sure care about the education and welfare of the least among us.
baronmorris 3 years ago
Most voters today couldn't tell you the detailed positions of any candidate on any issue. The idea that the American people would be more responsible and "educate each other" in their voting on policy issues is ridiculous. Most people support Obama because he's pro-hope. They couldn't tell you exactly what he stands for. The same goes for conservative supporters of McCain.
tabber87 3 years ago
I'm sure you've done extensive objective research and surveys to back up your fatalistic assumptions. I'm sure your opinion has nothing whatsoever to do with your inborn and environmentally-conditioned proclivities toward disparaging hope and ridiculing the intelligence of "most people".
We the People are our only hope.
I support Obama and I am damn well brimming with pertinent facts and reasons why. I think you are projecting your bias with little evidence to show.

baronmorris 3 years ago
How do you explain the 2004 election?
The idea that the American people, who rank consistently at the bottom of all the industrialized nations in the world on aptitude tests, are going to take it upon themselves to become educated on the issues when the elect buffoons like Carter, Bush 1, Bush 2, or any of the present candidates, is simply silly. These are people who are spoon fed their ideas by the likes of Bill O'Reilly and Keith Olbermann. Quit being so quixotic.
tabber87 3 years ago
the spoon-feeding and spoon-eating-from is what needs to change. Americans are not genetically less intelligent.
I'm sure we both agree that the best solution is for Americans to GET SMART and GET INVOLVED. not abdicate civic responsibilities.
but yeah, the last few elections in particular suggest that pragmatism is on your side.
Peace.
baronmorris 3 years ago
I seriously just clicked back and saw you responded, so I'm seriously not sitting here clicking the refresh button lol.
I guess my point that while Americans are not genetically less intelligent, they are, due to a number of factors, lazy and I don't see how giving them more power can possibly change that. It's akin to sitting an alcoholic in a bar and giving them free access to the liquor. I'm not saying authoritarianism is an acceptable alternative, I just don't see there being any solution.
tabber87 3 years ago
Again, I bet we agree that a truly benevolent dictator would be dreamy. but I will bet on the dawning (& viral) (self-)awareness of the people before I would bet on the wisdom, benevolence, or freedom from corruption of power in the hands of the few. I'm basically as cynical as you, I think (lol) but I am trying to reform. I'm aiming for cautious optimism, or an enlightened cynicism, if you like.
ever-onward, ever-upwards.
enthusiasm always runs the risk of being deluded.
