  • Just use fleece easier to clean up... and make ramps at ends of cages not middle kind of space wasting for all around oggp frolicking, and easier cleaning too... you can make it easy from hardware stores sell the coroplast in 2x3 precut 5 sheets for about $50.00 grids at bed bath Wal-Mart etc... Cable ties dollar store or hardware stores they are cheap anyplace the fold down feature well problem solve people it’s not hart to set up a so for the price they want make 2 daily living n summer home

  • @amy1teto1jazzie1 But you DON'T divide it. Which makes it more roomy, not all the guinea pigs will be utilizing all the space at once. While one is sleeping another one could be running laps. A guinea pig cannot run in those store bought cages.

  • Great!! this surely can improve the life of so many animals that have to live in cages... thanks for the tips - - I built a large version for my two rescued chickens who sleep indoors (it is huge, 5 x 5 x 5). The next thing to teach: everyone Adopt, don't buy animals! I worked in a shelter and it was sad, all the abandoned small (and large) animals.... Yes, guinea pigs and rabbits, ferrets, ratties.... so many animals end up abandoned for whatever reason... adopting will save lives! Thanks.

  • Would this cage work for a dwarf rabbit?

  • and he says that cage is designed for six pigs, you divide that into six and each pig will have the same amount of space as the small cage

  • the cage at the start isnt the kind of guineapig cage you get its about a quarter of the size so thats just stupid, its probably actually a hamster cage

  • How much did this cost you?

  • The cages are really expensive!!

  • I really need one of these... but I don't think they sell them in Australia. :(

  • i built a 10 sq feet cage out of ply wood for my pig

  • Can you request this cage to be made to keep my pets separate? As in no ramps?

  • How big is the dimension?????

  • I am actually building a 3 floor guinea pig/ bunny cage right now as I am watching this vid :) first floor is for my 2 guinea pigs and 2 for the bunny. I love this vid :D

  • the person who pressed dislike. watched only the frst minute and was offended by the small cage dident wait to see what was to come

  • "charlie" great name for a guineapig who's been to a choclate factory!

  • wow they look great, but i was wondering what did you use for the big front opening on the top level to make it be able to flip down? im considering building a c&c cage myself :D thanks XD

  • how much does it cost??

  • Comment removed

  • Hey! Charlie! How 'ya doin'? :3

  • How do you keep the middle from sagging or caving in?

  • i meen mazimun

  • i just want to point out that this cage could hold 3 guinea pigs at minimun to keep happy but the bigger the better

  • @MyHaggie go to cand c cages .com

  • Yep - should be fine. Epoxy is just paint.

Also, pigs don't tend to chew on the grids that much - more so on softer things like wood. However, ours (we have 5) do chew on the grids and squeek at us when they want our attention.

  • @BlueStoneCages I spanked my guinea pig for biting and he died. WHY?

  • Guinea pigs don't just eat hay. . They eat pelits from the store.. Thats so much healthier and better for them.. Its like eating noodles everyday.. Instead for pelits (too with the hay) its like eating normal.

  • that cage is to small

  • @sweetpielemonad

That's the beauty of C&C cages - they're scalable. You can build them as large or as small as you wish. In fact C&C cages were invented by Cavyspirit - a guinea pig rescue organization to house large numbers of homeless pigs. So, ya - too small - make it bigger!

    Thanks for the comment,

  • @sweetpielemonad you should keep watching because he shows a bigger C&C cage.

  • @sweetpielemonad your an idiot

  • I have a question, How much would it cost for a ramp, And a ramp only?

  • @MyHaggie If you're interested in a C&C kit, visit our website at BlueStoneCages dotcom and click on a link to one of our online stores.

If you want to build from scratch - search online, cavyspirit is a good place for instructions.

  • how much is the three floor cage is getting two and do not know which cage to get

  • Hey, I was wondering how you got the wheels on the bottom of your cage?

    Thanks!

  • @WinLinOSX

We use casters for office furniture - rated at 75lbs. And we just use cable ties to attach them to the bottom grids.

We also use steel beams to support the cage bottom so it doesn't sag and drag on the floor.

  • would the prices stay the same if paid with uk ?

  • You are a refreshing person to listen to! I work at PetsMart, but I always tell people not to buy these cages for their guinea pigs. I have two pigs myself and I have a C&C cage. I know people look at me like I'm crazy, but I don't care, let them. I would rather have my pigs be happy and healthy and have lots of room then be miserable and scared.

  • @0TraciMarie0 Yah, I agree - I wish we had met someone like you when we got our first pig. The very first cage we bought (years ago) was a small pet store cage - because that's what was being sold - and we didn't know any better. Later we realized just how cramped it was and since then all of our pigs have lived in C&C cages. BlueStoneCommerce

  • @BlueStoneCages i am 14 i might be able to get a job so my cute little pig can have a better cage i am thinking about the 3 story one

  • @hermitcrabstuff34 That's great to hear - good luck. Nothing better than learning how to set a goal and then planning and working to get there. There's no better skill in life to learn. (Enough preaching) I hope you can do it. Email us once in a while on your progress at bluestonecommerce at yahoodotcom.

  • Can ya ship to Ireland? How long will it take?

  • @animalloverxgix We don't ship outside of the US and Canada. All our cages are fairly heavy (steel grids) and are oversize by UPS standards. We've looked into it in the past and shipping to Europe is more than the cost of the cage - usually a lot more...

    BlueStoneCommerce

  • how expensive does it get?

  • @Germ496 Prices vary quite a bit. You can see this cage and others (with prices) at one of the BlueStoneCommerce online stores. Just visit BlueStoneCages dotcom and click on a link to an online store.

  • i would like the 2x3x3 cage for 8 piggies :) i commented to you on your website and recomended you to my piggie friends :) could you leave me a message about this one

  • @twilightlover123able Left a reply to your message on our website. Best way to contact us is email to bluestonecommerce@yahoo dotcom. Thanks!

  • how long will it take to ship?

  • @socalglittermonster We ship by UPS ground because it's the cheapest we have found. Usually takes 1 - 3 days after we receive payment. Depends on how far you are from Michigan.

    Hope that helps...

  • Or you could acutaly go to like target or wallmart and pick up some towles and then gust clean the towles so you can just get a papertowlel and then use that to pick up poop and just throw those towles in the wash quickly and your set

  • It says your store doesnt exist

  • We are out of town. So eBay should show that our store is on vacation for this week. It does exist. You can still go to the FAQ pafe if you need info.

The store will be open for business again Friday Feb 19, 2010.

    Thanks for the question.

  • good cage :o)

  • I'm looking for the CoroPlats sheets and can't find them anywhere. Do you know where I can get them?

  • i have a guine pig and decided to get another(both females) but one is a baby, and we just kept them apart but let them see and smell each other once or twice a day, then when we put them together it was the baby one that was more "in charge"!

  • I recently built a 10 square foot cage with a 2nd level that is 4 square feet. We have had a female Gpig for awhile and recently got a new one that is also female. When we introduced them to each other they were fine and the new one submised to the older outside the cage and they actually snuggled in my lap, but in the cage the new one attacks and the older runs away. They have plenty of food and they both have their own bed area. Is there a solution to this or will they fight forever.

  • Kind of unusual - females usually get along.

New pigs should be introduced to each other on neutral ground. I see you've already done this, but more time on neutral ground may help them get used to each other.

Another suggestion is to put a temp barrier of grids between them in the cage so they can see and smell each other until they get better aquainted.

Otherwise, just try and wait it out if no one is really getting injured or keep them separated on separate levels.

  • If you mean the plastic, the brand name to ask for in the US is Coroplast - short for Corrugated Plastic.

The best place to buy it in small quantities is to call your local sign shop. They sell it in 4 ft x 8 ft sheets.

Call several sign shops. Prices vary a lot (We've encountered $15 - $40 USD per sheet). Some shops will cut it to size for free, others will charge. Shop around. Hope that helps.

  • i can never find the corex... where can i get some and i hope its not too expensive

  • I love your channel! It's helped me so much thank you thank you!

  • Ya, we have five pigs in a very large C&C cage and they love it! Lot's of room to run.

  • i bought one of those cages

(c& c cage) off ebay for about 200$ and my guinea pigs love it! i have two and they run are happy as ever in it. it didn't take them long to get used to the latter either.

  • I am getting a guinea pig soon. Is it alright if i get the FERPLAST 80 CAGE. It is a pet shop cage but it is very big.

    thxs

  • I'm not familiar with that model. Most modern cage-sizing guidelines recommend something close to the following:

One guinea pig: 6-7 sq. ft.

Two guinea pigs: 7.5 sq. ft.

Three guinea pigs: 10.5 sq. ft.

Four guinea pigs: 13 sq. ft.

  • i looooove C&C cages. Years ago before I knew about C&C cages I had THREE piggies in a small pet store cage. When I moved them in the C&C, it was actually easier to clean and they were ten times happier.

It's nice to see people actually selling them because people keep saying they can't find the parts and what not.

    Great job!

  • Thanks,

We were the same way. We built the first cage for our family - not to sell. We had our first pig (Pookie) in a pet store cage and he looked pretty cramped. When we got our next pigs, we went online to look for something better and discovered C&C cages and built one. Our pigs did so well in it that a few years later, we decided to sell them online and help "spread the word". Hopefully we've contributed to a lot of happier and healthier pigs. Thanks again for the supportive comment.

  • do u make rat cages

  • Sorry, no. Just guinea pig cages.
