VNV nation has always been a commentary on the loneliness and brutality of the outside world. "Victory, Not Vengeance." I think they believe there SHOULD be no war, but the only good argument for that is that of War - the reality, the awful thing itself. So when their songs mimic a military/official sound, it's toward that end. This song is about victory, and what it cost, and the doubt and shame that follow with it. It's easy to mix up verses - look up the words to "Tomorrow Never Comes"
VNV nation has no idealogy or politics, shut the fuck up about politics. Enjoy the music, sounds like a bunch of club kids and hipsters arguing about bullshit. That is a good point, but they wouldn't have needed WW2, if they hadn't fucked up WW1 by changing the shiefflen plan (which would have allowed them to win the war)

they fucked themselves over by deciding to take on both the USSR and the west. Coupled with the idiocy of their allies, the Japanese, for taking on the americans, they screwed themselves over. Germany: Awesome at engineering, horrible at war strategies.

this is my favorite song from vnv- not that i dont like ANY of them.... im a big fan, but for the life of me cant find their cds. ive tried all the big chain stores liek walmart, target and fred meyers, with no luck. if anybody knows where to look id b glad to listen ^^

@Yurivskane There's a music store where I live that I got two of their CD's, Judgement and Of Faith, Power and Glory. It's called Greywhale, and it's a pretty nice store. Not sure if it's nationwide though :/.

VNV nation has always been a commentary on the loneliness and brutality of the outside world. "Victory, Not Vengeance." I think they believe there SHOULD be no war, but the only good argument for that is that of War - the reality, the awful thing itself. So when their songs mimic a military/official sound, it's toward that end. This song is about victory, and what it cost, and the doubt and shame that follow with it. It's easy to mix up verses - look up the words to "Tomorrow Never Comes"

Lyrics from their new song, "Art of Conflict" (which I'll post as song as I get the CD). Of course they hate war. Shouldn't everyone? Why would anyone with a sound mind approve of war given how much it costs in human life, social stability, and money?
That's not to say that war can never be justified, but it's never going to be a good thing.

i think he means that everybody should hate war, but it is still necessary. War is a terrible thing, we all know that. If it ever came to it, i would fight for what i believe in, and i'd like to think most people would.
