It's not a disability, I prefer to call it a learning enhancement otherwise it makes us sound like there isn't a chance I hell that we can do things like reading and writing. We can, but it just takes a lot longer.

Dyslexia is far more involved than just language based. There's way more to it than that. It's a common misnomer that causes a huge of lack of understanding toward dyslexics.

I know this is quite old but my advice is to not call someone who has dyslexia a "dyslexic". It's not politically correct anymore. The same applies to any other condition such as schizophrenia, for example. Other terms such as mental retardation have been changed for things like intellectual disability which sound better. So, while calling someone a "dyslexic" is technically correct, it's not considered correct anymore. Nice documentary by the way :)

And the visual problems arn't dyslexia that is a seperate problem that can be related to dyslexia but its not dyslexia ;)

I'm dyslexic,i struggled LOTS as a kid, im not too bad now I went thru college and university (im british, college here is like highschool and university is like college).Only way dyslexia can hold you back is if you see yourself as less cause of it. My spelling isnt all that bad as you can see, but I forget everything :@ and mix words up when im writing and speaking. I have the funniest story involveing mixing up the word septum and rectum..... but im running out of comment characters D: GUTTED

Ask some one to look at your eye movements when reading text, if they say your eyes scan right to left you have a right to left orientation preference. I am dyslexia and scan from right to left Da vinci had a preference to read and write from right to left.
