The neckline has a facing (as shown). Once that was sewn in, I flipped the shirt right-side-out and top stitched really close to the edge of the neckline to keep it flat.
Very good presentation. I also found this type of fabric reallllly shrinks. I would like to see how you attached the added belt in detail. Great idea. Good job! Cheryl in FL
Wow! Thats amazing! Do you think you could post a step by step video on how to follow a pattern? I suck at that! You are obviously very talented so I hope you will be able to post a video like that!
Thanks alot, I really want to get good at sewing, I got a Kennmore sewing machine for my 13th birthday! i love it! I can make the basics, bags, pillows, clothes for stuffed animals, ect. I hope to get alot better. Thanks for the great video!

That was really great..I have the same pattern. Can you make a video about attaching sleeves? That's the part that gives me the greatest problem. Thanx
I love the shirt, but you should change the name of this video to "How to cut out a shirt from a pattern" I was expecting you to actually sew it and show us how.
I bought the pattern at our local Hancock Fabrics store - it's Vogue 7743. I added ties to it at the side seams - those aren't part of the original pattern, and left off the bottom part of the sleeve (the "bell" part) and lengthened the upper sleeve to make it more like a 3/4 sleeve. Hope this helps!
Sorry about that! I will make the next videos much more detailed. I trimmed the edges to about 3/8" and used a simple zig-zag stitch to finish off the edges.
Really good:]

You should pre-wash that kind of crinkled cotton before you sew it. It eliminates shrinkage.
ZuluRose 3 years ago 3
Absolutely. This fabric was prewashed and lightly pressed before cutting it out.

Oh - yes I know your pain. I too struggled for many years with sleeves. I'll add it to my to-do list! Thanks for the suggestion!

Wow, what a great job! I'm inspired to try to make a shirt, but I don't have a lot of sewing experience...
Are there patterns for beginners as well? Any Ideas on how I can make my own patterns and clothing?
Any response would be appreciated! Here or send me a personal mail to my Youtube.
