  • Ron Paul 2012! He wants to stop this! And people call his foreign policy crazy, yet he listens to the sociologists and CIA when they talk of blowback.

  • So goddamn true, STOP THE AMERICAN CHRISTIAN FASCISM!

  • "The Wave" 2012?

  • 2:48 Andre Johnson! lol

  • What a twat. Someone in that class should troll the fuck out of him.

  • Here is a classic Zionist blaming problems on Muslims and Christians, a if you even hinted at the Jews being behind the wars in the Middle East you would be a racist.

  • Yes, it did. The problem is, even if it is taught in schools and colleges across the U.S., it is not likely to empower the American public to actually affect U.S. foreign policy. I hope this man and the like keeps his job. Which he probably will, as oil and other multinational corporations are beyond and above the public, nation, mankind for that matter - mere mortals. For more, watch Michael Parenti or John Pilger.

  • wow!! thanks to sam and for posting...this is such a big middle finger to that shiznoz. it gives me hope.

  • this professor is retarted

  • @TheSiggyMan6 it's retarded....... not retarted.

  • Te international zionism is who are behind the wars of the middle east as h was behind the french revolution, ww1 and ww2.

  • Obama is musulman not christian.

  • @barbarotico have you everr heard it outta his mouth?

  • @barbarotico uumm nope...false haha get yo shit straight bro

  • thank you Dr. Sam Richards! those students looked so clueless

  • There was a study that showed that a large chunk of white people (more accurately, privileged people) have a problem with empathizing outside their race. Their mirror neurons just don't light up when they watch brown people. That means they just don't register them as real people with personalities.

The study was done in the US so the study showed that mainly whites were like this. If it were done in other countries the result would be the same for other racial majorities.

  • He's not saying that these are the reasons that the US is in these places, you morons. He is saying to look at it from their perspective and what they may believe from the sound bytes and evidence that he provides. .

  • weak

  • The American public has been slowly dumbed down for decades through:

Chemicals (Fluoride, Aspertame, Thimerosal), The mass media, The government and the education system.

Most Americans are not told the truth about the world or themselves.

Vote this up if "you understand".

    Peace

    See my faves

  • While the points made may seem obvious, the news in this country make it obvious that many, many people have not taken the 45 seconds required to look at our actions from the perspective of someone else, how terrifying and enraging our actions may be, and how all the people who joined the military after 9/11 aren't so different from the insurgents. When we're scared, the last thing we want to feel in addition to that fear is helplessness and sometimes fighting is the only way to not feel that.

  • what an outspoken douche, and stop trying to be cool with these dipshit college-hippie know it all videos. I'm just trying to use stumble-upon to break through my insomnia...

  • biased opinion is all i can say wheres the evidence there is mroe then one reason to go to war and he is makign a bigger deal or the religous aspect then is reality

  • And yeah is there anywhere I can get a version of the full lecture?

  • Hey burnettejacob - maybe it would be worth worrying about our own country first before we rack up another trillion dollars in war deficit. for a bunch of bull.

    just sayin.

  • @rhelbren All I can say is...Oh brother.

  • @rhelbren You have missed every video of value on you tube.

See my faves to see what I mean.

  • @rhelbren Do you have amnesia? Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. We invaded Iraq a decade before 9/11. How do you explain that?

  • @rhelbren ok well i mean look at what happend before 9/11 remember the fires in the oil fields and dessert storm. Stay out of the East.

  • DOES SOMEONE KNOW HOW OR WHERE CAN I GET THE COMPLETE LECTURE....THANKS

  • They let this guy teach?Apparently its cool to dominate a society through fear, torture, and denigration. Why should we come help? Why should we turn these nations into productive societies, such as every other country the U.S. military has kept a military presence? The United States and her allies should invade any country that treats their people like Bin Laden and Hussein did.In 10 to 20 years both will be productive democratic societies.Next up - Iran

  • @BurnetteJacob What an amazingly ignorant statement. In case you are unaware, Osama Bin Laden was not the ruler of Afghanistan and therefore had nothing to do with the way the people there were treated. And you think the US military should invade every country where the people are treated badly? I hope you'll sign up personally, and also be willing to pay most of your income in the future to pay for this endless war. The US has NO business invading any country that does not directly attack it.

  • @BurnetteJacob Welcome to America, where people live off fear and hype. It's what we live for. This is just against the general American opinion, but it's following the exact same type of thing we hear all the time

  • i understand...

  • Quick Note:

America is a Republic, not a democracy. We use democratic processes to elect officials who actually do the governing them selves with little to no input from the people, and are then only accountable by their next election bid.

A Democracy is when the people vote on all, or atleast most, important actions taken by the state.

Republicanism, Nationalism, and Capitalism have combined to create fascism. That is a corporate centric system ruled by a single party; In this case The Rich.

  • ***MINDBLOWING***

    merp

  • Judging from the stupid looks on the audiences faces this was the first time they had considered such thoughts, and kudos for the teacher for doing that. Of course we would all join and fight. How many pounds of rice do you think it takes to equal the negativity of 1 of your family member's being gunned down by the US or US proxy.

  • Justin Beeber

  • @n3rdyr0cker I was really into it. your comment made me laugh. . . so out of place :)

  • Can I find the full lecture somewhere??

  • and last thing about ''do we care'' issue today as i see,all world must cry with Europeans & USA etc. when they lost their citizen but especially until 11 September please check which countries were supporting every kind of sepetarists, extremists their native countries, funniest one today when Mexican Security Forces fightin aganist drug dealers West based NGOs appear in Mexica and try to cover drug dealers cause ''human rights''

  • I must say watch Errol Morriss film The Fog of War,Robert McNamara already givin answers to about this issues and i am not sure many American citizen know about this issues cause only yesterday when an American TV givin news about Egypt they confuse place of Egypt with Iraq and they were speakin about beein neighbour with Iran and Syria will effect this demonstrations (Real Egypt have no border with Syria or Iran)

  • @DeliBasAli Oh also i am Muslim and proud with my religion another fact when America join in Iraq,Afghanistan their officals had no idea about tribes,Shiias or Sunnis etc. today in Afghanistan (we can say same for Iraq) i must add about tribes mostly they have their own rules and if killing someone from this tribe(imagine with ''mistake'' ones) same thing about declaring war to all of tribe, another fact when insurgents offer 100 dollar to who fight current government offer 10 dollar or sth.

  • I wonder how much editing it took to cut out the student's laughter. Or for that matter, their crying for realizing they're paying ridiculous amounts of money to hear a professor state the obvious in a dramatic fashion.

  • Maybe it should be taught. American civilians are wildly detached to the concept of violent conflict.

  • Zionist lies demonizing Christains.

    Google Israel did 9/11

    iamthewitness. c o m

  • @buddyis12 oh just give up, you guys have been blaming everything on the Jews. At least switch up your scape goats once in a while.

  • What a load of conspiracy shit, People do stupid things like make pointless wars. These things are not always grand plans of death and misery.

  • @EEBLESUCKS he wasn't saying the blood for oil stuff as a conspiracy thing, he was saying it from the perspective of the arab muslims... that's what he said at the beginning. He was telling the students what they believe and letting them understand the choices arab muslims make to fight us.

  • @un0RRS

Dude my bad i saw the first twenty seconds and thought this was one of those conspiracy things. I see his point now that he is simply trying to understand the terrorist/freedom fighter and introduce some theory called Ethnocentrism. MY BAD.

  • there are only 2 sides, the haves and the have nots.As long as the common people are killing each other, the elitists will continue to profit from our ignorance and misery.racism religion and the monetary structure of the elitist bankers are quite simply tools used to heard people around. we should all be demanding a better education system for all of mankind.

  • @fahedmahmoud Well actually the 'americans' are sure after oil but it's not that simple. The soldiers are mostly thinking they are not after oil. The personell too. The population of america don't want to be after oil at least.

The taking of oil is an action that emerges with no planning or central conspiracy to do so, just different people making similar logical moves for their business interests. The reason for this syncronized effort is not conspiracy but that people are guided by profit.

  • @stiaa04 first of all if I have used the term American I really meant governments not people and No No, the US government went to war in Iraq for oil and nothing else, and I think that the current events the middle east say a lot about the US and others' foreign policy. the fact that Obama waited for 8 days to stand by the millions of people protesting in Egypt also says a lot. all what am saying is do not do to others what you won't do to yourself if you know what I mean.peace

  • @fahedmahmoud It is something that american government should have predicted and made laws to prevent to be fair before they invaded. Just like they should have had an exit strategy after saddam dissapeard. Its all bad planning and stupidity imo.

  • @stiaa04 I think you still missing the point they should have not invaded in the first place they have no right to do what they did and still doing, The issue is the American people should also have a level of responsibility towards what their governments do and so do all countries advertising themselves as democratic, the governments are elected by their people and the people's well is manifested in their governments. we all know that the latter is not always true but it raises question?

  • @fahedmahmoud I agree they shouldn't have invaded, attacking terrorist camps would been enough. The american people took responsibillity and protested war, but too few people. That might be the fault of the media who tauted TV pichures of mobs burning american flags, it might be the fault of the people in those countries invaded for burning the flags in the first place, if that was a dominant thinking (Cause it looked that way to those hesitating to protest the war.) Or the fault of religion.

  • @fahedmahmoud Yeah I would say you are at a point, however, U.S is a democracy that people supposedly vote, and make decisions. however, Capitalism takes a role as well, and Capitalism and democracy can not work with each other, only can have one, or the other. So knowing the greedy fat ass's in government Capitalism overrules democracy, and the people or pawns just believe they have a vote or say, but they are merely pawns or tools to the major players. I think everything everywhereismostlyshit

  • @johnbennet I totally agree with you John, it is unfortunate that many people do not see it this way, many assume that elections mean democracy while it can also mean elected dictatorship.

  • i understand.. but i also undrstand you should back your country.

if this was the other way round, mulslim invaders it would of been taken down

  • I was wondering why I always felt the need to invade the Middle East on a conquest for oil, and now I know! It's because I'm a Christian! Thanks for the clarification, Prof.

  • @iAutodidact maybe if you guys didn't try to destroy and steal everything you see then everyone wouldn't think this about you...

  • @sprjcube That right there is called a sweeping generalization. It's a logical fallacy. Try your argument again.

  • This is what you learn in college that you have to pay for?!!

  • @vuxanov Presumably they introduce the concept of ethnocentriciy and something more advancedin the course. It's actually neccesary since many people seem unable to imagine themselves in another persons shoes.

  • Really? Did someone JUST discover that the most basic concept in sociology applies to US - Islamic relations too? Gee golly whiz

  • @mad27 Since these are seemingly new students obviously they should be introduced to the most basic concept first right?

And it is easier to feel if you dramatize it and make people imagine it vividly than to just dryly observe it.

  • I was born here, therefore It is the greatest country/state/county/city/town/hood in the world.

I was born here, therefore I am ___ religion.

  • Let's follow a policy of non-interventionism. If you mess with our homeland, we'll destroy you, but we'll leave you alone otherwise, and hopefully trade and share cultures.

  • @torchiest Like in WWII? Though we (British) greatly appreciate your late arrival due to your non-interventionalism, it would have been nice earlier on.. I guess you were kinda like a Closer pitcher in baseball, play the last innings, say you won the game! Btw I love the USA so :)

  • This is why academia is bull professors just LOVE to try and be dramatic and act like they're enlightening everyone.

  • ELOHEL! paranoia

  • obamas a christian?

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

    no.

  • Oh my god... Reality... How surprising! Okay, actually not really, it was really obvious before the enthusiastic presentation, unless you have no clue what's going on in the world.

  • Nobody who wants to kill people is true Christian

  • @lfmGODUF exactly.

  • Did that need to be explained??

  • @kokohack12 Haha yeah I was thinking the same thing. It was like:

    "Blatantly obvious statement"

    Cue shock music

    "blatantly obvious point"

Cut to bewildered and enlightened faces.

I don't know, maybe this stuff does have to be taught. If reasonably intelligent people were the norm this world wouldn't be as fucked as it is. So yeah... teach this I guess. Try teaching it in kindergarten maybe, and leave college to higher stuff, just a suggestion.

  • @Aprilshowersss

Exactly what I was thinking. You don't have to be a sociologist to understand that bombing people under the mantle of 'a mission from god' really pisses them off.

  • @Aprilshowersss

yeah but this isn't the whole lecture, it's just a "trailer" for the whole lecture, which is probably available in full length... goes deeper than that.

  • @kokohack12 Sadly for too many we do.

  • @kokohack12 Obviously it does need to be explained. Look at the majority of Americans who are for the war because they "keep killing us" and think we "must defend Israel" because the Palestinians protecting their land are "terrorists". It's kind of ironic....are we the terrorists?

  • oh shit, i cant believe it was that obvious

  • If only we could all view the world with a sociologist's or anthropologist's perspective.
