  • I think that's actually a Mosrite. The Diamond Aria is a Mosrite copy and has a thin rod tremolo arm, this one has a flattened wide bar typical of a Mosrite. One of the owls in Rango plays a Mosrite during the "Let's Ride" sequence.

  • @ElectronicsPeddler HaHa! Its funny you should mention the Rango scene. I actually own a sparkle blue Mosrite. It was part of the 50th Anniversary collection released by Fillmore Mosrite. The light blue one in the video I just bummed from Norihiro.

  • God damn it! Everybody get off the internet! It is so slow right now!

  • WOOWO LOOK AT THAT BLUE MOSRITE!!!!

  • Great video and great playing! Do you know what brand the blue guitar is?

  • @LeadTwelve Its based on the 65 Mosrite guitar. The Ventures used these a lot in their hey day. This is a Japanese knock off, but looks & played great.

  • Great video and great playing! Do you know what brand the blue guitar is?

  • Bro, you held right in there... thanks for posting.... this is why youtube is great. SurfCoasters... check them out... they JAM.

  • @sparky7718 Thanks for checking it out. I'm flattered that so many people have enjoyed this video, because I'm a novice noodler at best. Novice or not, I knew this woulda been a once in a lifetime chance to jam with some Okinawa locals.

  • we were told there was going to be giant squid...

  • awesome video i like the story, well done friend ! 5/5

  • Right On!! Okinawa is a very nice place away from base. The surfers there are nuts surfing in four feet of water, over a razor sharp reef, with sea urchins that will pierce a combat boot!

  • Great Story....Great Guitar...Great Video

  • That was awesome!

It could have been a scene from a movie.

  • Wow! Love the way you tell the story, and you sounded good up there!! Cheers!!

  • oh and I don't surf... ...

  • Hahah, that was amazing!!! I gotta start a surf band, but I live in the UK and it's not so sunny, so it would have to be rainy surf music... ...

  • Nice! That had me grining the whole time. Also, have the same Mosrite shirt.

  • Very nice club and people. Great sound.

  • Cool! I would have done the same thing. Thanks for sharing.

  • Not bad... actually very good, for being rusty. Looks to me like a Yuzo Kayama signiture model Mosrite. All over Japan the Ventures sound remains, its a wonderful thing.

  • I was impressed with his Japanese Mosrite! I have a Japanese Filmoore Mosrite purchased from Ed Roman in Vegas. Not overly impressed with its components, but it sure is pretty!

  • Nice little film....beautiful blue Mosrite too.

  • hey, that was pretty damn cool.

  • Thx, for great video.

I learned the song because of the video.

  • What a great story. Must have been a story you will never forget!

  • Thanks! Good to hear their are others out tthere that still dig the reverb. There are more clips I posted from Okinawa. Check my username "jerky656." Lots of fun stuff!!!

  • that is the coolest thing i've ever seen. what a sick opportunity/experience

  • that is super cool man.... seriously. good on ya

  • cool color mosrite, what type of trem bar is on it? not a bigsby is it?

  • It had a replica Vibramute Tremolo. I say replica cuz the guitar was a knockoff Mosrite. Even for a knockoff, it played like a champ!!!

  • Sweet as thx for the names to chase down for this and some lounge moozik

  • I used to love going into Kadena Air Base. I would get off work and go down to BC street and over to Fukihara's Music store to look for the lastest CD's. (back in 1984 it was a big deal). I think the last time I went there (I was a C5 flt. engineer) was in the summer of 2001. I used to eat at the 4 seasons--Kobe Beef. Never stationed there--just flew in and out on missions coming from West coast. Rock on dude!

  • I love surf music... If you're looking for an original music contest, acidplanet-com is having one. Perfect summer theme for a modern surf classic.

  • Nice Job on the guitar.... What an experience to have!

  • That must have been quite an experience! Would love to visit Japan some day as well!

  • They seem like awesome guys :) keeps surf music alive :)

  • Very cool video!

  • and also like the old cowboy movie sounding stuff too, like some of the stuff calexico has done, oh and lounge sounding music that stuff that sorta sounds like elevator music.

  • I LOVE Calexico. They have a live DVD out now that is great! Pink Martini, Novelle Vague, Mosquitos, Nicola Conte. Check them out for some cool Bossa Nova & Lounge.

  • please tell me some artists that do this music i love it but do not know where to start, any help would be appreciated. i listen to alot of bass driven music such as dubstep grime drum n bass etc etc. but have always liked the sound of this stuff too.

  • Ahhhh, You're looking for some "Surf Guitar!" THe Ventures, Lively Ones, Dick Dale & The Pyramids were all popular surf guitar bands of the 60s. You should check out "Los Straitjackets" too. They're a current band that plays some super surf guitar music. The best thing about it is they do it while wearing Mexican wrestling mask. check em' out on the web.

  • Hey... why don't you try checking some of my clips... or just type BITCH BOYS SURF at you tube, and you might find some nice stuff..

  • eric you are a surf guitar GOD! thanks for giving me a great monday morning!

  • eric king is the coolest man alive
