I must admit when I hear an American (Neil Diamond) sing it, it just sounds cheesy, but when sung by somebody outside "Gods's chosen country" I can appreciate the song rather than the xenophobic sentiment; thank you - enjoyed it.

Most of us are not too keen on our own tones, and that's probably because we live with them all our lives. I learned to believe that It's not important what you think of your own voice. It's what other people think, that matters. Your voice will always feel like your own voice. Even if you become a great singer. The main point is to really enjoy it :)

That competition originated from over here in the U.K. and was called "Pop Idol". We have a similar show now called "X-Factor". I've never considered entering those competitions, though I've won a few local talent contests over the years. I just really enjoy singing :)

1. what kind of set up you have to record the music? I like to get a setup for recording.

2. how do you get recent ratings enabled?

Thank you. The ratings are probably in your account settings somewhere. The only good bit of equipment I've got is a decent microphone. The rest is just computer and soundcard. Though when I record. I record (Stereo mix). It means the music gets recorded directly. I'll probably put more details in a mail for you.
