  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE!! REST IN PIECE BROTHER.....

  • There are a whole bunch of people in the rock and roll hall of fame that are not worthy of standing in this guys shadow. Well at least the Small Faces have been nominated for 2012 induction.

  • it's a safe bet to say that about 100 of the views of this video belong to me. lol. Even though I have them downloaded, i can't help but to find myself watching them over and over again on youtube. I truly love Steve Marriott's talent. Too bad he died 4 months before I got stationed in London, because I sure as s---t would have wen to see him play. RIP my man.

  • O grande Marriott deu o seu melhor ate ao fim. Foste sempre grande entre os grandes irmao. RIP

  • steve marriots vocal style was lifted by plant

  • I THINK GIBSON SUBCONSCIOUSLY HAD STEVE MARIOTT IN MIND WHEN THEY DESIGNED THE 335. IT FITS HIS STYLE AND PHYSIQUE, AND THE TONE OF THOSE PICKUPS IS A PERFECT COMPLIMENT TO HIS PLAYING ABILITIES, WHICH ARE NONPAREIL. THANK YOU STEVE FOR GRACING US WITH YOUR TALENT. SORRY LIFE TREATED YOU SO UNKINDLY.

  • Superb stuff rock on Steve!!!!

  • This video should be sent to EVERY so called white English blues man. So much better than Rory Gallagher, and rips Clapton to pieces.

  • This is amazing. Popular view says that by Packet of Three Marroitt was finished, a shadow of former self. Erm look at the guitar work, the voice is still there. Wish I had gone to see him.

  • @Drdebaser The voice isn't close to what it was in the sixties.

  • @Inspector711 DON'T TALK CRAP !

  • @Inspector711 mmmm...your right. It, like a fine wine, just got better and better... Another great talent taken from us much too soon.... He will always be remembered for what he was.. a great singer.. a great guitarist ... a great frontman ...one of the very best. Miss You Steve. ..

  • Steve was fantastic!!!!!

  • I spent 5 weekends folling Sreve Marriot around in the mid 80's, i was 17 then had a chat with him too outside the half moon pub in putney in london he gave me an autograph, he was wearing a snorkel jacket and was tiny, what a gentleman.

  • I think this was about the best guitar work I ever heard Steve do.

  • WTF! THIS SHIT WAS AWESOME!

  • happy birthday steve! 20 years gone but the afterglow remains as bright as ever!

  • Marriott...one of the BEST ever...just as good as any Beatle

  • @mickey62056 better than any beatle.

  • @mickey62056

Don't compare ...........Just enjoy these "once in a million " artists.

  • Brilliant

  • A Masterpiece. Love it.

  • This is a real masterpiece - can't stop listening....

  • **UK! me he is brilliant I have never listened to this guy after 42 years of being on this planet.....I am ashamed. Call myself a guitarist. I am now going to take myself outside and kick my own arse. I am happy that I hopefully have at least another 40 years or so left to listen to the guy. Hate his dungarees. That's only because children's TV presenters or farmers can pull that look off. Imagine Hendrix in them? You can't can you. Maybe I am just jealous because I look a pillock in them!

  • Steve Marriot, Peter Green, east London must be on some weird Mississippi blues ley line.

The thing is with both these artists is, that they not only played it but lived it, and you can't fake that.

  • His guitar playing is incredible... so expressive, so fluid. And that voice... whew! Finding this footage is so sweet.

  • Ladies & Gentlemen: STEVE MARRIOTT.

  • Now that is just about as good as it gets for me, we all knew he could sing, but that guitar is well, ... you know what I mean. I'm reading the book about him, its hard. He kept having to blow it up (sucess) and you feel its hard. Then you dip back into the days when it should have sounded like the last lap. Stuff me its as good as it ever was. He never stopped, he know matter what could still reach into the bag and pull one out

    As ever, love the noise.

    Spud Custard

  • Back in the day anybody that knew anything about r&r knew this cat was 1 of the BADDEST MO FO's on the planet-- all props to SRV but this guy would cut his head!!!

  • I was at this gig the man was the best miss him bloody awsome Jim leverton also great bass player and had a great voice to.Steve rest in peace man. Thanks for what you have done and left a true soul man.

  • classic music, a legend of small faces and humble pie. why is music like this rarely heard, why is there all this rubbish on the radio apparently called "Music" R.I.P Steve Marriot... and it would be nice if I could "get on" with my neighbours.

  • If this don't give you chills, YOU ARE FKNG DEAD!

  • Than you, thank you, thank you!!! Marriott was the best.

  • You Brits took the blues and perfected it like the Japanese did to the automobile. (Clapton, Gallagher(Irish) etc. Good for you!

  • @Pennyrudeone Dont forget Peter Green of early Fleetwood Mac. Yeah we did didnt we!!!

  • Dogs bollocks!!!

  • It is a DAMN shame that Stevie Marriott and Humble Pie aren`t in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Stevie was THE Heart and Soul of The Small Faces and Humble Pie when he was with them. Can`t nobody today hold a candle to Steves vocal talent. Got to see Humble Pie twice. Thanks for having these videos of Steve Marriott here on you tube. You bring back a lot of great memories.

  • as a Chicago blues enthusiats - and guitarist. I thought Humble Pie was mostly an R&B band with great elements!

This is the beauty of Youtube! Steve Marriott is a monster guitarist! like Framptons lyricism but this guy kills it !!

  • I think the only pleasure steve still had in life was peforming live. the industry had ripped him off for years and he had lost the woman he loved, his first wife Jenny

  • love it cheers for this nice one the man a legend

  • He was a real nice guy and such a fantastic talent, my heart breaks

  • all the good ones are gone

  • I don't care what anyone thinks, technically, artistically, or whatever.

This song and playing makes me feel GOOD and HAPPY. Isn't that what it's all about? Glen

  • can u believe he called himself a has-been at the end of this track,

if he only knew how much he was loved

  • @theKAVRIN Absolutely right. Not a has-been at all through my eyes. Listening to Steve, makes me feel like some of these posers out there now are has-beens.

  • ++++++++++++++++++++++++++

  • KILLER! thanks, brings back the good old days...

  • Watched them at a small hotel called La Mon in Northern Ireland. We sat in the coffee shop talking to Stevie before the gig. Still have the the pics. Yes, bring back the good old days.

  • he was one of a kind very real and honest. he had a sense of humor and mischief that disarmed everyone. the year I spent working with him was incredible he was had such talent . he fit right into our group and instanlty was one of us. we helped him put Humble Pie back on the road . his unbelieveable energy made everyday soar . gawd we miss him.

  • @db95018 Who are you? What group did he fir right into/

  • Thanks! Great Jam.

    RIP Steve.

    Best Regards -Thomas

  • thanksBlooze, voice stll good as ever, guitar just continued progressing,so makes loss harder, have you heard "just a Phonecallaway" last song he wrote?"

  • I've never heard Stevie play like that before. He wasn't the greatest lead guitarist, but, he was inspired that night :)

  • A voice like his, and he can play like that too! What a superb talent. Miss you Steve.

  • top drawer blues! why did he need frampton if could play like this? you can hear where joe bonamassa gets his inspiration from.

  • probably thee most underated of all

  • Ditto Mike. I knew he was a great guitar player, but didn't realise the high standard of his dirty blues playing! Great tune

  • Always admired Mr Marriott in his days in the SF and Humble pie. Seeing this I was amazed what a damn fine blues player he was....one of the best I've heard in a long time

  • I am an old hippie, I remember seeing humble pie many times in the 70's, i still have the live album, what great memories.

  • remember steve playing this at the princess charlotte in leicester whilst smoking a jazz woodbine , great night the dt's backed him , fookin awesome

  • Steve's got Buddy Guy - style overalls on! Great playing and a wicked singer. I can't believe this video doesn't have more views. Awesome!

  • nice what a great loss and a great guitarist and singer Steve Marriott r.i.p
