So when the left and right sides of the brain are disconnected, the two halves function as though they were two separate people. What does this mean for religion? Which half contains the soul? And if this were to happen to my brain, which half would remain as 'me' ? So many questions here! I don't even know who 'I' am anymore!

This is great...thanks for posting! I cant seem to locate lecture 1 but i may need to look harder. Also, if people like this then i would recommend Dr. Robert Salpolsy's class from the teaching company on neurobiology. I got it on audio cd from from undergrad library.very good stuff.

very helpful as you are presenting additional visual explanations for what he is teaching and this helped me soooo much to understand better. Although this is much more complex than what I am required to learn right now I'm greatful and enjoy learning more! A big thank you!

The video constitutes one of six Brain Mind Introductory Lectures, posted on youtube, each providing an introductory overview of the functional organization of the brain. To reduce confusion, all CT images have been reversed so damage on the left appears on the left, and right sided damage appear on the right. For a detailed presentation I recommend one of the best neuroscience texts of all time: the 2nd edition of Neuropsychiatry, Neuropsychology, Clinical Neuroscience, by Rhawn Joseph, Ph.D.

Kinda sounds like that BIBLICAL VERSE that says the RITE HAND does not know what the LEFT HAND is doing...LOL! However, there was an actual show on the DISCOVERY HEALTH CHANNEL about a man whose rite and left sides of his body were in disharmony. Every time he tried to open a door, for example, with his rite hand, his left hand would reach out and close it!
