  • Hi, I'm a pro sax player who has just taken up concertina, I've found your videos very helpful in getting started, nicely graded to get people playing straight away and you explain things very well for anyone with no knowledge of music, thanks.

  • Martyn, I agree with the fellow commenter..you are a cool dude! I leaned quite few tricks with your concertina lesson this week. Very helpful!

    thanks,

  • Hmmmmmm.......talking to yourself eh? Well done thank you....!

    LOL

  • Lovely music ......but I'm off to specksavers.!!

Well done and thank you for sending me the link

I get my concertina this week..!!

(but where do I get my 'alter-ego' from now?) He heh!

  • Very tricky photography!! I can see the separation line, but the REAL giveaway is the lack of a mirrored back image to one of you.........lol.

    Nicely done!! (Cheers!!)

  • Thanks lol ... but there was only one reflection visible to the camera! I'm better at it now too ... have a look at Stool of Repentance Collaboration Duet in my channel somewhere :)

  • WOW!! The sound went out on my computer about three months ago and I thought I was doing alright on my concertina lessons. Finally got the sound back and wow, do I have some catching up to do. What a pleaseant surprise to find this vid. Please keep up on the lessons. You insperration has helped my playing A LOT. I can not express my gratitude for your lessons. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • Many thanks for the kind comments ... glad you're finding the videos useful :)

  • Thank you Matrynytram!

  • Martyn you are sooo cool! Loved the twin effect and your playing was awesome too! Excellent & 5 stars from us!

  • Lol ... I actually had trouble hearing the guitar part whilst playing the concertina as it was playing on my laptop and it was too quiet ... so my timing could have been a lot better. But it was a fun half hour :)

  • what program did you use to create the 'twin' effect?

  • This was just an exercise whilst learning to use Final Cut Express ... a video editing program from Apple. It can also be done using QuickTime Pro. It's basically 2 videos syncronised to play back together in the same player window.

  • You must be the same Nytram who sold me a Jones' concertina a few years ago. What a smashing tune, very nicely done, and your 'new' concertina sounds really good. Is that one for sale?

    Best wishes,

    Colin.

  • Hi there! Hope you're getting on well with it. Sorry but the Wheatstone I'm playing here will never be for sale! Thanks for the kind comments ... Martyn ( Nytram )

  • This must be the result of all those noble efforts to explain freeviewing stereography.

    You pass the audition.

  • It's goodbye from him ...... nice idea, and very good execution, Martyn.

Now the really clever one would be the two of you playing the same concertina!

  • No, if Nytram and Martyn both played the same concertina it'd give the game away :)
