Hey, my fingers hurt whn I press down on the strings. And if I don;t press down hard enough, it sounds weird. What should I do?

Just keep practicing, your fingure tips skin will get thinker or w/e after while and it wont hurt; you want to hold the strings completely down unless the song calls for a mute.

My mom recomended me to use band aids on my fingers so it wot hurt so much when i practice. is that ok?

well.. you could but it would not only be harder to play but your finger tips wont get thicker (skin on your finger tips)

The best solution like i mentioned earlier is to just keep practicing and you will get used to it and it wont hurt at all.

And if you use band aids it will be hard to play convienently.

if you play it ALOT then you can easily get it to thicken in about a week or 2 or somwhere around that catagory.

Dont worry.. fingure tips hurting is commen and alot of ppl have it

you cant see the thickness or anything, it just thickens and doesnt feel any diffrent from your regular fingures w/o thickening... but i suppose you could use some latex gloves and cut off the rest of glove and use the fingure tips...

but i rather have the no pain ever again from a skin thickening that doesnt feel any diffrent then wen my skin was thinner.

but heck if you REALY dont want it then use the latex fingure tips like i sugested because its easier to play with then bandaids.

No, actually, what you should do, is let your finger get thick, so it doesnt, hurt the more you play. It's kind of useless, to use bandaids because it's a lot harder, and you look stupid playing with them. Lol, no ofense. Keep play everyday, for maybe a half hour, or so, and you'll get used to it.

Lo...since my comment about my fingers...My fingers has been thick an i peel them off and im used to the pain now. I play the guitar like everyday. Im much better than a beginner now.

Docamota is talking about callouses... it hurts at first but then your fingers will get used to it. if you baby your fingers by covering them up with stuff when u play then you will have to do it forever. the easiest way is just to deal with it and eventually you wont even feel it anymore.

i kno you have been getting a lot of thank you's but i just wanna thank you for this. i just quit electric guitar because thats more of something i like to listen to, not play. and when i went to acoustic i had to re learn a lot of things. this is the first video that actually does it step by step, literally! do more songs! id love to learn more with ur step by step method xD this is the fastest song ive ever learned. i learned it in only half an hour thanks to ur steps.
