  • when you flicked it on the nose the dog was like wtf just hit me

  • lambonspit, stop making training videos.

  • Shes so cute

  • "One time I forgot to say "Eat" and he was sitting outside here for a little while" I said Awwwwwwww out loud. That is sad but adorable because he was so obedient.

  • these two homos are confusing the SHIT outta him "lets throw a piece of food to see how fast he runs" what a Fucking Dumbass!

  • Sam? you watch to much I am legend jks if I had one I would call it sam aswell

  • you sir have watched a lot of dog whisperer

  • Flicking the dog on the nose for discipline v.s. Having an aggressive GSD that isn't obedient at all.

Yes I know there are other "nicer" methods but this one is fine. Like the guy on the video said, you have to be harsh with GSD's or they WON'T LISTEN TO YOU. Yes it depends on the dog but most likely they won't listen to you.

  • @BJTHEWOLF Of course, no dog would listen to you if it's NOT INTERESTED in the training session. And it will be disobedient for sure because of flicking its nose. Learn more about dog training.

  • I obviously know allot more than you. Douchebag......... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, how old are you? From your insult, I recon about 14. the nose is the most sensitive sense a dog has. The first sense they use is the nose, followed by the eyes, then the ears. Try asking an SPCA officer if it's good, or do they know nothing either. There are so many people like you who teach bad habbit. I know I don't know it all, but I have been training dog for about 15 years and I'm still learning.

  • Absolutely NOTHING wrong with flicking a big dog on the nose. He didn't say smack, hit, punch, he said flick. It gets their attention like flicking your kids ear.

  • I feel sad for the unfortunate German Shepherds that come under your ridiculous training methods. It MIGHT work as a tool to get the dog to do what you want, but it's doing nothing for the dogs self esteem and respect.

  • ill flick your ass.

  • this dog is highly trained and it's more than 12 mths old.thumbs up if you agree

  • @Lazarcar100

why do you think he's more than 12 months? he's the same size as my German shepherd and he's has just turned 9 months!

  • I train gsd's and they r really good with positive reinforcement, but this is not cruelty. Just give a stern no once they a good praise but idk why everyones so angry.

  • So many of you are so ignorant... Animal abuse is: not feeding a dog and kicking it and leaving it outside on a CHAIN .. These people are doing Perfect with their dog.. I have a female gsd and I BITE HER ON THE NECK when she does something wrong.. And I'm against animal abuse you freaks you want a dangerous dog then don't do anything about it if you want a good dog, discipline it.

  • i was like is that a boy or gurl then he went down with the camera and i was like ummm yep thats definently a boy

  • P.S I am a professional dog handler and have my own company. So I know what to do. Go read some books on K9 training before attempting any training.

2 great books to read are: the dogs mind and Dialogues with dogs. Both are by Bruce Fogle

  • Twats. NEVER flick a dog on the nose. A dogs nose is their no1 tools. Also never tell a dog off after the event, only when they are doing something wrong. You should also use eye contact and a firm growling voice. I'd love to see Sam bite a hole in your finger next time you flick him on the nose.

  • @SteveBaker1970 you dont know jack shit you know it all douchebag

  • Oh you are doing it wrong.

  • Never flick a GSD on the nose! Golden rule

  • He noise what to do? wtf

  • ah his lovely

  • He is only a baby. Well trained, well treated.

  • He is a monster! Lovely dog

  • scientest learned that with german shepherds that positive reinforcement works better than negitive if you flick your dog on the nose eventually you will piss him off and he will snap because of how smart the gsd is, to tell them off just leave them in a place by them selves with no toys for a little while then try again later

  • actually, you should have a firm voice and also have eye contact with your dog to show your pack leader!

  • german or american bloodline

  • my german sheperd is around 21-25 and hes 3 months how many pounds do u tthink german sheperd are supposed to be at a year?

  • Very nice dog, good looking .... mine is 4months so far starting police training in 6-8months. Police don't use the reward system? You have great results using it though..

  • you've got no idea, do you?

  • beauitfuil dog

  • Mines like 7 months and not even close to that dogs bigness

  • bastard dog and an equally bastard master....

  • the process your missing here is a release command, slacker

  • flick it on th nose.??/ why... only to a cat i flick it on the nost and mayby kick it so hard it wont brathe for 2 minutes.. whywud u flick a german sheaprd

  • i love my german shepard, all i trained her to do was shake and sit and go to the bathroom out side. she really did everything else we wanted on her own. she figured out how to open our gate sometime ago but she never wants to escape, she only opens it if she thinks your in the front yard, just wants to play ball. shepards are amazing dogs.

  • No.....I don't think you ought to be causing any physical harm when you tell a dog off...

  • Woww I wish my gs was like that

  • Once they do somthing right you give them the reward and a pat on the head :o helps even more

  • i yoused to have a shillow sheberd named sam but he died at 12 years old back in 2008 from inteston cancer

  • I love my labrador!!!

  • I have a german shepherd puppy.. just got it yesterday :)... his ears are already sticking up so i call it my miniature german shepherd :P.. hes so cute.. his names Max... nothing beats a german shepherd.. there the best :)

  • @dms5805

doesn't mean they wont go down again lolz gsd puppy ears are unpredictably:)) until after the teething process:))

  • @SUSANB2K9 lols I know right... and I love how the German Shepherd looks of course!.. because their ears stick up, they have a beautiful tail, and the right body.. plus they are much bigger dogs :)!.. to me. they are the perfect dogs.. so loyal and trustworthy. They look like wolves. I'm gonna teach mine to be protective of me and my family from other strangers. I can't wait till he grows up

  • this i know sounds very odd but it works. to get the hair off the dogs use a shop vac that turns into a blower . it does not need to be a leaf blower it can just be the shop vac with the hose in the outgoing air. then blow the hair off the dogs. dont blow it in the dogs ears . the dogs love this and you will not belive how much hair come off weeks of brushing every day are done with the vac in 10 minutes

  • I'm thinking of getting a german shepherd and I dont kno if it will get along with my lab dog. Will it and what age should the puppy be when I get it I'm thinking of training it

  • best dog breed ever

  • 0:47 sammy looks like WTF IS THAT?!?!...OH, A DOGGY TREAT NOM NOM NOM

  • my shepherd just passed away a month ago.... its awful she was like family.... im 25 years old and i cried like a little kid

  • Awesome dog

  • if u dont flick the dog on the nose or anything else then it wont learn not to do that any more it would just keep on doing it

  • awesome dog btw!!

  • flicking your dog in the nose;is like kicking you in the nuts when you dont obey.think about it before you are cruel to an animal.

  • My german shepherd is 8 months old and he weighs 39kg (he's not overweighed) and is height is 67cm, but he as the biggest of he's sibblings so I guess it makes sense and his father was very big too.

  • how did u teach him to understand EAT?

  • nice dog you have there mate, whats type is he?

  • whats the weight?

  • didnt sam die in i am legend :S

  • @davidh936 yeah he was a good dog

  • @davidh936 Yes and I'm gonna cry:( Sammmmmm.

  • how did u train him like that? my dog is trained but if he sees food he runs for it

  • The dog looks depressed and miserable..... It makes me very sad when I look at him.

  • @Jakalattack50

i agree, he looks mindless. some commands are essential for owning a dog, but it's unnecessary when they live their entire life by command. give him some freedom.

  • It* needs discipline lol

  • They are training him fine, the dog looks healthy and happy, he has total confidence, a flick on the nose is not damaging, it just is irritating to the dog and reinforcing that it has done something bad, you guys are probs the same ones which say kids should not get slapped on the bum at all not even softly lol. You need discipline, in the wild wolves would attack the one which has done something wrong... Thats a lot harsher than a flick.

  • If you guys read the puppy training article on the Eukanuba website, it also says to flick puppies in the nose. Obviously the technique can be justified. I suppose it would be similar to spanking your children... (flicking the nose of a dog. Not spanking the dog, of course)

  • u heartless mofo

  • I mean im against animal abuse but flicking on the nose is just training, people! It doesn't harm the dog and is effective. It doesn't hurt, I learned that in dog obediance class. Sometimes you need to do it.

  • My whole family wants a German shepherd but we live in a duplex with a 77 years old women and she doesn't want any pet but when we move to a new place we're buying a puppy the first day.

  • You state hell obvious things. Of course a sheopherd is going to mault. TGhey dont mault that bad. You must not groom him if he maults alotr

  • I want to flick you on the nose.

  • @dto2013 Let me wack you w a bat for being a moron....there nothing wrong w how this guy trains his dog..look how obedient he is.....ffs. Just like kids , if you dont make some discomfort for discipline then they would turn out moralless and a low life kid w no values....

  • @dto2013 ikr who flicks a dog that is trained to kill?

  • flick your dog on the nose? the most sensitive/important part of your dog.. i think you may need to go back and get some lessons..

  • @mcnulty518 what does flick the nose do? anyway just wondering cause im getting on for my birthday

  • @mcnulty518 tis called discapline

  • @mcnulty518 he does? looks to me like hes done a awesome job w this dog fucking idiot and the 20 idiots that thumbed u up!

  • @mcnulty518 Dont think he hurts him -.-

  • OHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE IS SO CUTTTEE....MY AUNT ALSO HAS THAT.....BUT THE COLOR OF YR DOG IS VERY NICEE......UUUUIIIIEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

    THANKS,

    LAKSHYA

  • @Lupercio93 male

  • Your floor is extremely dirty your dog is not only eating the treat but also licking the dirt off the ground.

  • @DBZstephawn fmales german shepherds do and there more loal

  • Comment removed

  • were u bought the german sherper

  • I absolutely love German Shepherds, and Sam's a very beauitful dog! :-) I agree with you, there's nothing wrong with a slight flick on the nose as a correction method. It's certainly not cruelty! If you're not harsh especially with breeds like the GSD, then they'll easily become dominant, and difficult to train. You're doing the right thing :)

  • is it a single fur or double..?plz rply

  • and why you teaching him this shit??? like a robot i dont like it just let god be dog pls

  • i have 2 GDS one is female 6years old brilliant fully trained not a bother on her. the other fella we just got last week he is only 7months old he is great regard sitting coming staying etc but my only concern is he keeps trying to mount my female and her patience is wearing thin he will back off abit when he sees that she is getting angry but still keeps at her every available option would geting him neutred calm him down from that? any1 know?

  • THE DOG YAWN!!!! LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • That german sheperd is awesome! I love how when the video starts he just sitting there so seriously like no 1 is talking or looking at him he's just satring! :) hahah! Again, AWESOME!!

  • best breed ever

  • @lambonspit can you train a GSD at 3 months please reply

  • @Scoobydoo3050 Of course you can. I started extensive training with mine at 2 months. Some things you will need/should wait until they are older for because you can't use a prong collar or an e-collar on a little pup.

  • he is so pretty

  • WOW!! That dog was only 8-9 months old.it looks so big i can't imagine how big it will be when it's fully grown. German Shepherd's do grow to be pretty big dogs.

  • I love German Shepherd they are the best :) i day i will have one of them

  • @jub1174 they a re great!!! u mean ONE day u will have one? and not i day? lol i always wanted on, finally i got one, so glad

  • je deteste the dogs !!!!

  • Nice dog man. I have a girl one, we adopted her though. She was walking around the streets and we felt sorry for her so we fed her(outside our fence though). We left our house for a while and when we came back she opened or gate and came inside our fence lol. I was so glad when the vet said that she was full blooded German Shepard and that she was under a year and a half

  • you have a great yard for raising a dog

  • beautifuil boy

  • That is a very Beautiful German Shepherd i have a 14wk old gsd , i love him. Have fun man.

  • fail with the sitting thing, but most dogs would get up for the food, he was probably thinking you wanted him to get up

  • well ur dog is way far obident ,v have been training him with police commander trainers but he nevr got trained he will never wait paitently for food he give a f***k about SIT,STAND,GO ,DOWN ,STAY just listens to my mom n bro, even i shaked hands with him after he after he was 1 yr old ,i was real scared, that was one day n today is one where sometimes i feel i will live without any1 in this world but not without him !!i love him too much :)gonna spend good time with him once im back to ma place

  • WOW !HE IS VERY SAME TO MY DOG ,I HAVE A GERMAN SHEPHERD AND HIS NAME IS NASH!well as u said v need to be harsh with them ,but u actually cannot ,He had torn my textbooks & the next day i had ma exams,my mom was angry @ him but u knw wat i was crying not becoz my text books were torn becoz she kept him hungry for the lunch n i secretly gave him 3 eggs to compensate! I got married and now he is @ ma place with ma parents and moved another country.Missing him badly, desperately waitng to go back!

  • nice video and a great dog

  • he is such a beatyfull dog . mine is just like him.

  • You are such a good trainer.. my 5 months old GSD just won't listen to me.. He reponds to 'sit', 'come' and 'eat'.. probably coz I taught these commands to him 2 months back. But now he just doesn't cooperate. It's getting really hard to get him to pay attention. I try to be as polite as possible, coz when I be strict, he ignores me.. And when i try to reward him all his concentration is diverted to the treat and the ways in which he can get it without having to do as i say.. help me please. :(

  • very pretty shepherd i raise and train these beautiefull animals :")

  • very pretty shepherd i raise and train these beautiefull animals :")

  • why is the one dude constantly repeating everything? I think I heard him say "stay" 5 times! The dog gets it perfectly well if you say it just ones too... + dogs get confused if you say it so much, because it tells them you're insecure...

Just positive advise though.... the rest looks good :)

  • @Queen1677 thats right

  • Very bad training , you frustrated the dog to much. when you train a dog you must be very relax 2 mintutes is enough when he know the commands then you do something else etc,etc German shepher are very smart dogs they learn very quick

  • really nice dog, well trained, nice video man, and good luck with her(:

  • the dog is paying attention to the treats

  • sick dog, sick video, sick music.

  • Every time you said "Stay" it always remind about Mr. Bean at Dog Contest. =]

  • You obviously don't know how to train if you have to flick his nose when he misbehaves nice dog got 3 of them

  • i love him can u post more vids of him please i really like sam

  • It takes more than just saying sit, down, and eat for them to know it. This isn't a training video this is more like a showing video.

  • My German Shepherd's name is Sam too! They are the most loyal dogs in the world

  • My jack was was beyond this at 12 weeks!

  • Dont worry every1 is a dog expert on youtube...

  • 0:48 i thought he bited your fingers !

  • OMG HE IS SOOOOOO CUTE :X:X:X

  • my half german shepherd half labrador is still 2 months old! i cant wait for him to grow up into an adult! when did you start training sam?

  • Additionally, you have an 8-month old puppy that looks miserable (no surprise there). And the one thing that I want my GSD to know, without doubt, without any slightest apprehension, is that when he's near me it is a good thing. My dog comes to me like a bullet, and enjoys it when I grasp him. I'm not against corrections but yours are ill-timed and poorly applied.

  • @mstrhck how is this dog unhappy? If you have watched any other of the videos you would see that his dog always runs up to him and wags his tail.... 'Additionally', what is wrong with this training? Sam seems perfectly trained for home and normal purposes!!!

  • Not impossible to kindasorta train a dog using your system...but you're working against yourselves with things like 'telling off' and 'flicking'. Those things are ridiculous, actually. Proper training is 3 stages. 1) teach the dog the command, and that the command is fun 2) teach the dog the command means the same thing in different circumstances and is still fun 3) teach the dog he has to do the command and it's still fun when he does it. Takes longer but results in a happier dog and owner.

  • love the ending music r.i.p mj

  • u're an aussie and u have a german shepherd. it's not really patriotic

  • I've had a few shepherds too and you know that mess up the side he caused, that's just boredom.

Mine starting digging to china when he was bored and I just ran him everyday and tired him out. Sam is nice, makes me want to get another one.

  • He's nice.

  • I'm not much of a dog lover but that's so cute!!

  • I'm pretty sure when you train a Shepherd you change your voice to a more violent tone, and DO flick or hit them on the nose! That's what I do to my Golden Retriever...

Well, at least all of the people in my neighbourhood who are dog owners here in Australia do that...

  • my gsd name is also sam

  • how did you guys get him to behave so well i have a german shepherd and he is a year old and does not listen..

  • @lambonspit HOWZ SAM NOW???

  • beaufiul dog

  • beautiful dog, but sorry thats not the right way to "correct" a german shepherd, what does their mother do when the pup has done wrong, she will bite the back of their neck give them a stern "shake" and put them off to the side, you should never do anything as in hitting or flipping them in the face. and you should never EVER call them to you and then punish them. thats prob one of the worst things you could ever do to a dog.

  • hey is this sam from i am legend? :)

  • my dog just 3 month .still young.does it early to train it?my whole shoes have been gone by his bite lol

  • i have one ♥ her name is "micha" she was in the Gendarmerie and my Uncle is a officer there so he gave it to me i have since i was little (about 5-6 years ago) .. she's the best dog ever ♥♥ with shes very kind . . but very Aggressive with other ppl . . specialy when it comes to me involed in it (fight or just laud talk)

  • Why would anyone want a pitbull when there are German Shepards?

  • Good puppy ^ u ^ ♥ Love how he's trained! I believe big pups like him need to be properly trained like that. Great video!

  • i thought she died from those creatures in i am legend???

  • i love big dog it so cute??????????????????

  • aw!

  • your supposed to use affection, not treats or flicking the dog in the nose, that sounds more like abuse to me

  • Aww it's so cute, but what the fuck is up the flicking the dog on the nose? -_- isn't that like abusing the dog, you don't train like that. -_-

  • cute dog dude u sell jajaja

  • never have liked being so controlling with a dog and food. These dogs want to please, it's their nature. Making him wait for an ok to eat is silly. Food motivation may work but seems too controlling. Giving praise to wanted behavior works well for my GSD. When he does something I don't like I give him a dirty look, point at him and lower my voice. Sometimes I think these dogs are smarter than us.

  • Nice accent!

  • i enjoy the video gud job.I have a 4-month german mix puppy how much food should ,I give her?when ,we put her out side ,she poops every time in like 1-3mins n eats it .I caught her n,I told her about, it, she still does it.please can u, give some ideas how to stop this behavior .

    /

  • You should not correct a 9 months old dog by tapping on his noise. It destroys his self-esteem. What you should do with dogs under 1 year old is not to give them the chance to do anything wrong and praise them for all the right things they do. (you hardly praise him when he listened to you in this video.)

  • lol i love the video!=D i have a german shepard he just turned 1 years old on january 15

  • beautiful bog dog .. @ the month i own a dame -8 yrs old..

  • Beautiful dog! He looks like a clone of my dog Jake.

  • Gorgeous gorgeous dog - gotta agree though mate dogs dont need scolding after they are naughty save it for when you catch them in the act if you do you should not need to smack em - loved the birthday vid as well - Sam so clever opening the door x

  • Why are you flicking your dog on the nose?

  • great dog! youve got an awesome backyard.. id keep a couple dogs if i had that

  • life found a way

  • @TheGSDfanatic BAHAHA!! Now you are getting even more outrageous! Sensitive noses/sensitive to smells does not mean that their noses hurt easily, in this context it means that they can pick up faint smells from far distances and track them! Clearly you don't know the different meanings of words coz ur brain is so far up ur arse. Hmm children are smacked lightly when they do something wrong, we did the same to Sam and he learnt...no cruelty AT ALL. oh and btw...ur blocked! Have a nice day idiot!

  • @lambonspit

Hey mate. Any guides/reading/videos/tips that you can suggest on how I can train my 8 week old GSD?

    Thank you.

  • @yakooza Mate, ask someone who knows how to train dogs properly. Flicking a dog on the nose disqualifies this clown.
