Hey, what's up everybody... I'm here because all of you guys are Pearl Jam fans, and because, if you can deal with a little bit of 'spam', I'm here to promote my new band Overshadowed. We just got done recording our demo, it's on our channel, and we'd love if anyone could simply check the songs, leave a comment, or anything of the sort. We'd really appreciate it!
FYI, I came HERE because we love and respect Pearl Jam, and are hoping for whatever respect you guys might have leftover...
Great version. It's from when they opened for Kiss back in 93 at the pyramids in Giza...Or maybe from one of the Tibetan Freedom Concerts in 97. Yeah that's it, TFC 97
RIP Brett Kane. I found this song in your jeep in the cd player. You died five years ago today. I play this song on the anniversary of your death and on your birthday. I played this song when I spread your ashes. I played this song in your garage as I packed up your belongings. I played this song as I cried on the floor going thru all your things. I played this song to my son when he was born; a son you never got to meet but who bares your name. I miss you my brother, my friend
This is the absolute best version of this song. My favorite song ever. Even though the video doesn't match, I love this version. Whenever they play it live, they never use the same lyrics.
@Tuxedo360 Yeah, it's pretty clear in the audio that Mike McCready is switching between the neck and bridge pickups, which his acoustic in the video doesn't have. Among other clues.
this is from tibetan freedom concert and is eddie vedder and mike mccready. i checked amazon, and this version of the song is the one off tibetan freedom concert. i used the amazon previews.
Downloaded this version of the song awhile ago. The absolute BEST version of it available. The lyrics are significantly different, but it's the amazing guitar that makes it one of Pearl Jam's best recordings. If anyone can tell me where/when this was recorded, I'd appreciate it.
His voice, knowledge, texts, music and the most of all consignment of his production couses, that Eddie is the one of true music stars and of my favorite vocalists.
hey you, has anybody tried to tab this different version of yellow ledbetter? I just gave my very best to get the "extras" and particulary the solo, but didnt really get it right. can someone help me out? I am searching for them since years.
and of course: this is the very very best version of yellow ledbetter i have ever heard!
This is the Audio from the Tibetan Freedom Concert recorded in 1997 in the USA. It is just Eddie Vedder and Mike McCready. At the same concert a blistering version of "Don't Look Back In Anger" by a solo Noel Gallagher. I think this concert was videoed - there is certainly some footage on a bonus cd rom with the main cd. I don't think this version could ever be bettered.
this is the best audio by far of ledbetter, one of the best songs ever in my book. if a video existed or was posted of actual performance that would be very cool. the vocals are key
Know what sucks? The fact that the video has nothing to do with this particular audio cut. First off, there isn't even a bass line, but we see a bass player in the video. Second, it's not acoustic - the guitarist is playing a clean stratocaster. Third, it doesn't appear that whoever edited it made any attempt to even try to audio-video sync it. D-
06/08/97 - Downing Stadium: Randall's Island, New York (Tibetan Freedom Concert)
set: Corduroy, Yellow Ledbetter, Rockin' in the Free World (Ed and Mike only, acoustic)
Long Road (Ed and Mike with Michael Stipe and Mike Mills)notes: Ed and Mike open up the second day of the Tibetan Freedom Concert, much to everyone's surprise, with acoustic versions of 'Corduroy,' 'Yellow Ledbetter' and an unusual, slow version of 'RitFW,' with modified lyrics.
this footage was actually taken from the bridge benefit concert OCT/96...after the set Neil Young came out and sang a couple songs with PJ...I paid $150 to be on the floor that night...
Anybody have or know if there is video of the 1997 Tibetan Freedom concert? Eddie and Mike came out on Sunday morning to play a surprise set that also included Corduroy. Wonder if it exists, would love to see it.
ok the video and the sound dont match... so close your eyes and enjoy it

This song is the perfect example that you don't need to use the same words to give the same message. Beautiful :D.
