I think everyone should get civil unions which deal with hospital visitations, and other issues, whether you are gay or straight. As a small child, I never understood why a Gay man didn't just settle down with a nice lesbian. Being older now, I sort of understand why. But like I said before I'm not going to stop you.
I am not trying to say that Gays are incapable of love, nor that the feelings you have for each other are not the same, but not everyone is that way. Even straight people marry for the wrong reasons.
The #1 excuse for Premarital sex is "we loved each other" My parents didn't use that excuse, but still, Attraction for sex is not the same thing as love.
You just said exactly what I said, even though you denied it! And you are still wrong, that type of love CAN truly exist between 2 men or 2 women. Same-sex intimate relations are not wrong, and neither is same-sex love.

As I said before The love between between a man and a woman does not require sex, but at the same time it does not require marriage either. The only thing that True love requires is the equal desire to make each other happy.
Also, with all due respect, I can not see Gay sex as real sex. I have already explained why enough times. Acceptance is not a reason for right or wrong.
Typically, when I try to determine if an action is correct or not I try to imagine what would happen if everyone did it. (ex. Honesty passes. Stealing failed. Etc.)
Just because you can't see gay sex as real sex doesn't mean that it's not real. At some point one has to question your ability to perceive reality. We're at that point.
Reality is, gay love and sexy is just as valid, whether you understand it or not. Reality is, everyone deserves equal civil rights, whether you think so or not.

I don't think the government should have anything to do with marriage at all. I think everyone should get civil unions which deal with hospital visitations, and other issues, whether you are gay or straight. The #1 cause of divorce is that the married couple enjoy the Idea of being married more than the actual relationship or work that is involved to keep a marriage. My parents for example: got married because of me.
