I personally prefer the non-conservative method on T2, I've had bad experience with shoe going off and nearly fell (effect of clipless pedals). the other intersting part is dragging the bike to the mount, the shoes could get out, so u need to think about the pedal position when dismounting on T2.
awesome!!! how do you put your shoes on while biking??im so afraid im not gonna finisg my first one..... any last minute advice??Last week I saw a new movie, “Discover the Gift”, which talks about being true to yourself and do whatever you do best giving 100% all the time. I loved it! facebook. com/discoverthegift
thx sooo much m training for my tri i have all of the swimming biking and running down path. this video help alot i shaved SOOOO much time off. usally i would be sitting on the groung putting on my shoes but im soo glad this video is out for the public to seeeeee!!!!!!
Long distance swimmers don't wear a wetsuit...it should be the same in triathlon...I know they put blubber on their skin and it would be difficult to take off before the bike part in triathlon. I guess it's faster to take off the wetsuit..lol:) But it's a bit easier to swim with a wetsuit, it makes you float.
great video, really helpeed me with my transition. just two things with the swim to bike transition, my goggles never stay in the sleeve always fall out and two i find it so much easier to take the wetsuit off when your still wet.
@JD Ironman triathletes say "I can," because if u want it bad enough you will do what it takes to get it. If u want to do any distance triathlon you will make the sacrafice all triathletes have to make it happen. No matter what shape you're in, you can do it!
Not a bad video but I disagree with the big ring comment. Sure your chain runs the risk of coming off if your bike is bouncing in transition BUT if you have it on the big ring it is harder to get started, especially for beginners. What you'll end up with is a bunch of beginners barely moving because their in the big ring all trying to put their shoes on while on the bike, off balance and going 5 mph. Unless there are craters in Transition small ring with shoes on in Transition for beginners.
You sound like you know what you are talking about!! how many tri's have you been in??? Which event is your favorite? I would love to try one, but I feel that I could never get into good enough shape!!!!
Great tips, especially for a beginner like me. However, before mounting or dismounting with shoes on bike, make sure that the straps on your bike shoes open AWAY from the drive train. Mine open towards the drive train. Not sure if that precludes the option of shoes on bike mounts/dismounts but when I tried it on the trainer, it didn't sound good. It seems like the right shoe straps could get caught in the gears. Tri-specific shoes correct this. Wish I knew before I bought them.
he's well patronising! i don't start with my shoes on the bike, i clip in in the mounting area, doesn't really seem to slow me down compared to guys who do..
excellent tips. i've watched this video several times before my tri and then practiced it many times. my transitions now are very quick. thank you, you are very informative

Brilliant.

the flying squirrel? Um that's just your regular mount for cross. Most of this is common sense and I don't even do tri's.
