I've lost 4 dogs over the years and cats, its very sad.

One of my cats her name was Stripes, she was my shaddow, i hand raised her as someone dumped her and her sisters in a box.

I was told she had feline leukemia, this was before there was a vaccination for it, I had to have her put to sleep when time came, on my birthday, since 1995 I've not really had a birthday.I held her when they gave the injection.

If I see this video it reminds me of my dog who had cancer, he died on 21st january this year. We had him 14 years and he was the best friend I ever had although it was just a dog.. we bought him when I was a young child, I've grown up together with him, he for sure the best dog I've ever seen in my life. I held him in my arms when he died, just same as you. He looked into my eyes and I knew, this was the moment to say goodbye.. I start crying all the time if I think of that.. I miss him so much

I'm so happy for you. I don't have the money to BUY a new dog right now so I'm stuck missing her. I'm approved at the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, so I'm going to go there on May 2nd, the day after I get my apartment and see if I can't rescue one...I have budgeted, vet bills and food, etc, but I just have to scrounge up the $200 to adopt one. November 30, 2007 at 10:35am. I woke up that morning and she had been breathing funny and then just couldn't get up so around nine I took her to the vet and on the way her gums went white (not enough oxygen getting to the heart) and I knew as soon as I saw that, I wasn't going to be bringing her home...alive. The vet took her in and xrayed her and afterward she had a seizure on the table right in front of me, she never had one before and I started crying because it was scary to see her

like that. Before I knew it she stopped breathing on the table and they had to take her back and put her on oxygen and she started coughing up blood...they said her heart was too big (she had heart problems as a puppy) and indeed the xray showed it was huge.

I went back and held her in my arms -- I could feel the strength in her, she was trying to fight, she wasn't giving in...but after one more coughing fit she looked into my eyes with those big brown eyes as though saying "I have to go mom." and then they glazed over and her heart just stopped.

I haven't been the same since....I miss her everyday, I keep forgetting after so many years of her being my best friend, that she's gone....I almost can't take it anymore at times...

I know, her grave is on the hill in our yard where she use to love to lay for hours a day in the summer and watch over us when we had picnics, I made her a stone headstone that has the collage I made in photoshop (it's in the opening of this video) printed out 11x17, lamanated and cemented onto it so I can sit there with her when I miss her and see her throughout her life.

Yesterday I got married and I was so excited when I got home I forgot again and called for her to come running and she didn't and it really made me cry and I went out to sit with her again...I still haven't gotten another dog. Ya, treasure every moment with them, you never know when they're going to be gone. I had NO idea that Candy was going to die. She was so healthy, so strong....then one morning, I felt it in my gut...I was going to lose her. Took her to the vet and sure enough she died in my arms, I had no idea she had a heart problem, it never showed with the routine checkups, don't know why it just popped up. So ya, please enjoy them, for my sake.
