  • @zombieeters And the guitarist was an ex. What about that?

  • @Suedeheadlover

    Took her for granted?

  • that drummer used to be her boyfriend...and now, her husband. i salute you.

  • the good old 90s

  • We were 2 guys listening to Britpop in my college. You know what? We felt on top of the world.

  • This woman is liquid sex.

  • The more I listen to this band the more I am convinced they were terribly under-rated. A fantastic band...really.

  • Louise is hot, no doubt but, the beginning of this song.......what a great build up.....nicely done Sleeper :)

  • what was the Sleeper song where they are in the rain please?, I remember Louise stomping in puddles and there were lights in the background.

  • @coldrockdaspot You're probably thinking of "Sale of the Century". She spends most of her time in that video looking awfully moist.

  • @devourerofbabies haha she was gorgeous, loved her style.

  • Louise was a cutie.

  • SLEEPER!!!!! one of the best female fronted britpop bands. ... its half the origin of SLEEPBLUR , along with BLUR , sleepblur :D , there u go folks, for those of u who never knew where sleepblur came from ~

  • "Stop pointing that gun at my dad!"

  • A really cool song...about prostitution. Long term prostitution but still prostitution.

  • Demonstrates clearly that the 90s were British, and it was a decade of sex. Boy, she was HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is what music should be...

  • I love you!!!! Louise, please come back!

  • quanto mi mancateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevorrei sentire canzoni cosi' oggi

  • 90's were the best

  • I lost my virginity to this song-perfect

  • Shame I can't go back and do the same. :(

  • @stevecooganfan hell yeah!

  • Underrated band and Louise Wener was a total complete babe!

  • This is my favourite Sleeper song. Come back, pleaseee

  • Totally agree with ya Frank!

  • Andy Mclure the drummer from sleeper is my drum teacher! Sleeper FTW :)

  • cool!

  • This is my cousin andrew on the drums and his lovely lady louise as the lead singer!!! hehe i'm so excited!! they r fab :-) xxxx

  • hottie

  • i really love this song. i have been looking for a bass tab of the song cause i wanna play this song. but i cannot find it yet.

  • This takes me back! Louise from Sleeper, Sonya from Echobelly, Nina from the Cardigans, Saffron from Republica. All such cute girls from Britpop era!

  • Love this song!

  • Someones been watching Reservoir Dogs...

  • strip this down a little and make the vocals male and its a pulp song

  • i felt that aswell the amirecan bands had less to offer overall would explain why only shite bands have cacked america in the last 30 yeas no shame just utter bats arse taste in music.alot of US bands have not cracked uk either they being stupid over hyped and just plain wrong.Gwen stefani had oly 3 singles relesed over here efore she went solo and beyonce as never realyy had any sucess here unless you count UN

  • cracking tunes and cracking nipples

  • can't believe you got a negative for that comment, it was a well structured observation, correct on both counts, and all in all a good point well put!

  • I agree. God knows how many negatives I'll get for saying: cracking tune, shame about the thr'penny's though: like a pair of aspirin on an ironing board...

  • brit pop fukin ruled. Loads of bands all making different but great music.

  • This takes me back, I loved Sleeper and Louise looked hot, still got their albums...

  • what a great voice!!

  • thought I'd have a listen to sleeper again for the first time in ages. just hope her books are better than the tunes. still, beats the current crop of "indie" shit the new generation of kids have to listen to; but not by much I must say

  • Apparently there was a Sleeper Greatest Hits CD that came out the same week as Garbage's last year.

Does anyone have the Romeo Me video?

  • Someone saw Pulp...

  • reminds me of the old days... still have that sleeper album somewhere....

  • i have all three of her albums

    #fuckin classic

    and her books

    goodnight steve mcqueen

  • well, she did admit it all started as a scam.

  • Sleeper were great! I always meant to buy their album but didn't get round to it. Grrr

  • One of the things I loved about Britpop was that singers didn't feel they had to put on an American accent when they sang. Ah, I love early 90's indie

  • Me too. It reminds me of high school and is so much better than stuff coming out these days. There was a scene back then and bands didn't sell out like they do today. Most of them stayed indie until the end. After 1997 music went way down hill in my opinion.

  • totally agree......

  • Thanks. I feel as if there were so many good British bands in the 90s in contrast to all the grunge band that came out of America. Not that some of them weren't good. I prefer the British groups the best though and I'm American.

  • yeah same here,, love the music from the uk but in saying that at the moment music has not done much for me loved the 70s and 90s,, cant beat some good old rock...nowdays there is way to many girl groups and boy bands out there. miss the band thing where guitar and bass and drums kicks butt....

  • I hear you on that one. I think that there are way too many processed groups today and they do not start organically like they use to. It is really a shame because I think that many kids these days really think that that is the way music is suppose to happen and so there is really no real music scene these days. I still think there is good pop music today, but I really like British music from back in the day.

  • Didn't they make a video for Sale of the Century? I loved this shit in 3rd grade.

  • Great song!

  • This has always been my favorite Sleeper video!

  • hypnotic track.

I especially cherish the pronounciation of parmesan, a very uncommon word in pop songs...

  • Heh "nice guy eddie wedder" :))

  • omg...10 years ago i remember fancing the pants off of louise, after seeing this vid its happening all over again !! she's well fit, bring back the 90's :(

  • louise wener is now an author. try reading ' goodnight steve mcqueen' by her

  • top band, top tune...thanks

  • Wheyy! this is my favourite sleeper song. LOVE IT!

  • Brilliant. Wener was obviously gorgeous - can anyone name any of the three blokes in the band?!?

  • Jon Stewart - guitar

    Diid Osman - bass

    Andy Maclure - drums

Also, please do not use the past tense about Louise. She is still one of the most attractive woman around, and her voice is the icing on the cake!!

Sleeper were one of the most under rated bands around, and that is good, because not everyone has heard of them, their music didn't get killed on radio, especially in Australia.

  • smartarse!

  • I agree, this is the only album i listen to from this era (exept pulp). AND she was so hot !!

  • Ditto! As I watching this, it struck me that LW is very Cockerish in this video...

  • After the dust has settled, I realize now that Sleeper was the best of all the bands to come out of the britpop era. They are the only band that I listen to obsessively, essentially, like food or water. The best and only band that has ever existed since The Smiths! There I said it! As Jon Stewart once said, Louise Wener is the best songwriter to come out of Britain. Damn straight! Thank you Louise, wherever you are!

  • have to agree with you and jon about louise's songwriting. too bad she only wrote for a few years.

  • used to have lots of posters of her.. know excactly where they are :P

  • i used to have a poster of her....dunno where i put it. she's lovely

  • God bless the F.A.W Premier Cup!

  • so hot

  • i think that i have just fallen back in love with louise, great song too

  • Bring back the ninties, I know its a cliche but the indie music was so much better then!

  • Fantastic song - i went to see them at Liverpool Royal Court with my then girlfriend - afterwards she bollocked me for looking at the singer too much! Erm - where am I supposed to look?

  • Simply one Great 90's Song with A Hot Looking Brit Babe, Thanks Dublin75. Great memories.

  • This is probably the most underrated britpop song. Brilliant.

  • you're damn rite

  • I'll never forget this song as long as I live. I recently dusted off The It Girl CD from my closet and was immediately sent back 10 years. I remember M2 (now known as MTV2) here in the U.S. played this video like 3 times a day back in 1996. This is just an amazing song...you can play it on repeat and it will never get old. Thank you so much for posting this video.

  • louise wener was a babe. the US never had indie chicks like her.

  • Sleeper never took off here in the US... why not has always puzzled me. I loved them. Louise Wener's good looks were a double edged sword. She won a lot of young male fans that way, but at the same time I think it unfairly prevented Sleeper from being taken seriously. They are more than "just a pop band." Their music wasn't groundbreaking, but it was exceptionally well composed. Even if it was similar to what a lot of other groups were doing it was still done exceptionally well.

  • Fantastic - Lou looks gorgeous in this vid.

  • Great. Louise Wener...what a woman! In my opinion she has never looked lovelier than in this video. Thanks for posting.

  • What does this have to do with Jon Stewart?

  • I figured some people would be wondering about that. Jon Stewart was the guitarist for Sleeper. It was only after I uploaded the video that I remembered there is another more well known Jon Stewart these days...
