@Essexboy696969 You must be really jealous that you can't do any finger flinging moves and all you say is that this particular art work isn't going to do any good in the real work, let me point something out, your YouTube name.. Hmm seems like you fuk other guys in the ass to survive in the real world. sik fuk.
I appreciate your support man, but try not to be so insulting to him :P
He had/has his opinions which I have to accept as being valid, yet he didn't express them in the kindest of ways. We've all got to try not to treat opposition in the same way.
Your comments epitomise what I'd term 'magical masturbators' - a new wave of younger magi that think showing off by juggling with cards is entertainment when, in reality, you would not survive with this shit in the real World.
By the way, what do you consider a 'best selling' DVD? 'Best Selling' to magicians that practice in their bedroom is simple - the annals of conjuring are full of 'magicians' with drawers full of unused crap!
Criticism is not what you've offered me. You'll find plently of criticism on my other videos, but it's constructive. I find this insulting.
I've already given you the reasons why people can survive doing flourishing AND magic. No they're not the same, but no one ever has said they were. In fact, they NEED to be seperate, but there is a misinterpretation which seems to have formed where experienced and older magicians have connected the two.
..two different names for two completely different concepts.
No one will get the same buzz when they see a flourish, compared to say.... two card monte, but they will look at a flourish and see eye candy. It's a different experience, and they two have to be carefully balanced if the performance is to be a good one. Usually people notice me "flicking" my cards around, and then ask to see some magic. I won't flourish during the performance, I try to keep the two seperate so they feel it's....
I'm trying to let you know that we "magical masturbators" as you "criticisingly" put it, actually do think and worry about these aspects every time we practice and perform.
Yes, I've got a draw full of crap too, but I didn't travel to see the Bucks lecture live because it was a poor attempt at a DVD. Thousands of people use their material every day, be it magic or flourishes. I'm picking the most eminent magicians (who flourish too) as an example. :-)
Essexboy, pick up a few of Paul Le Pauls books. He saw it that flourishing is the perfect misdirection for performing a sleight which is harder to cover. For example, this spread pass. Im a performing magician (I.e. i perform at many functions and on the streets) and this has never been caught out.
Also, i use flourishes by Dan and Dave and also Daniel Madison, because people like to see it. I don't know how you percieve the leity, but you are wrong about them.
No thanks I'd rather use material by Ken Brooke, Joe Riding & Paul Gordon. I prefer to entertain my SPECTATORS not MYSELF with powerful, magical ENTERTAINMENT - not juggling or acting 'Bertie Big Bollox' thanks.
As i just explained, spectators like to see it too.
And i hope you are not trying to debunk Paul Le Paul? Because he was one of the greatest entertainers to walk this planet.
I presume you perform table magic yes? Because the only time magic really does look 'magic' is when it is performed in a traditional style. If you are doing that on the streets, you need to get some edge mate.
My style is Psychological Delusion. Flourishing fits this persona very well.
Why bother with finger flinging nonsense - take it from me it will earn you NOTHING in the real World.
If you want to impress with cards, walk into a pub, borrow their dog eared pack and hit them with 3-5 powerful effects (inc. a cpl with a gambling theme - NOT Poker - blackjack or 3 card brag). You will get the reputation as a card handler and earn respect.
Alternatively, keep finger flinging and you will get a reputation as an annoying flash git, a juggler........or most probably both!
Thanks very much for your comment. I'm glad you're looking out for me, I nearly made a wrong turn.....
I DO MAGIC TOO YOU MORON!
Go and search Babycatxd on this very website. You'll find she has made quite a living out of modeling and card manipulation at the same time, literally the same gig in some cases.
This video (and the others named similarly) are showing clips I videoed whilst at Dan and Dave Buck's lecture in London. They have a bestselling DVD called the System, and also 'Trilogy'..
...cont- which focus highly on "finger flinging" and which have earned them a pretty penny. That, my friend, is the real world. They've made it, they're living proof it can be done.
I've never spoken to you in my life before, yet you launch an attack on me and thousands of others who participate in this art without any apparent knowledge of what you are referring to.
I've got no clue who you are either, but I can safely say that I've given more to fellow "finger flingers" via my account -cont
... (be it a meger way of doing so) than you have to your fellow magicians (or even demonstrated your magic and/or finger flinging skills) via the same medium.
Well not many of us had seen the Andthensome stuff before, as it was directly after the release, so that was almost unseen :P.
However, Dan did perform a fantastic looking trick to a small group of us after the lecture, upon request of something not yet seen, and there did seem to be a promise that there was plans for it to be included in something unspecified at an unspecified time :-)
He showed us a trick using Lee Asher's Pulp Friction. He showed me the same thing at Blackpool, and if you remember he messed it up at the end, well, he did the same thing at Blackpool!
By the way, I am the guy with the red bikes on the left of this video :)
