I'm gonna be honest here: 12 Episodes of the original, and I couldn't last after that. God, is it as corny as the 1960's Batman... that's not saying much. Animation is nice and the villain could be bad-ass, but the music can be repetitive, and dialogue can be cheesy.

As for the 2011 Thundercats: what a beast.  Better animation, better acting, better dialogue... everything was better than ever. No offense, but Reboot wins.

@darkraven447 the remake is better. I'm sorry to say. and here are my examples. Stories are more developed and actually generate a sense of genuine sadness, especially with the flower episode. Only thing that really sucks is. There is no killer intro. which the original pretty much set the standard to how badass an intro really can be.

There are plans to make a live action movie of the thundercats.

I have watched both series;This original as a kid.Personally,I like the 80's version better:it's more realistic.The muscles,face expression are better done etc.But you can't beat modern special effect in the new Thunder cats.

@writersblock91289 I never actually saw that episode myself, I only ever saw a couple of VHS cassette tapes my family had way back "in the day", as for time travel, it's possible but it's far more likely the creators of the show simply made a canonical mistake and decided to go with it so they could squeeze a whole episode out of it because let's face it, these 80's cartoons' entire existance were sustained by selling merchandise.

I know there have been mixed responses to the new series, but personally, I love it. I love how the animation is fluid (for an anime show), the characters are relatively three dimensional and fleshed out, the story is a lot clearer, the soundtrack is pretty good and the episodes themselves can be pretty epic. Best of all, Snarf doesn't fucking talk.

This probably spawned many a furry, but I personally never focused to much on their animal aspects. They were more like wild cat-colored people with pointy fingertips and narrow pupils. The early to mid 2000 comic books were satisfying (except for the five issue "Hammerhand's Revenge").

Thundara is a city but who knows it'll develop as a the name of the whole planet in later episodes. It's still good whether prelude or not.
