If the whole of Buckingham Palace was opened up year-round, or rented out perhaps, there would a lot more tourist dollars coming in, apply the same to all the royal palaces and the crown estate and that alone would bring in more that whatever notional amount is brought in by the monarchy. It's true, Charlie does have lots of influence in various fields but not because of anything other than the privileged position he was BORN INTO!
