The diameter of a 5.56 round won't matter when it's traveling at supersonic speed and yawing inside your body. Everyone knows that it's not the round, it's where you put it.

Once again, it doesn't matter if it's a walmart special .223 or a 6.5 Grendel if you get hit in a non-vital area. 5.56 works when you hit a vital area, you can generally carry more of them, and the low recoil allows for quick follow up shots. The objective is to kill, not knock someone down. There is NO need to change from the 5.56 when talking about close to intermediate ranges.

@dragonfire970 The rear sight is not a sight it is a magnifying optic. When shooting at close range it is swung to the right out of the way and the sight is used just by its self. But at longer range it is swung inline with the sight and makes the target look a lot closer. The British use x4 optics and shoot shotgun style at extreme close range but also tech the troops to lift the gun into line with the target as you would when using binoculars. I assume you know how to use binoculars mate. :-)
