I've been trying to learn how to skate again after not skating for almost a decade. I still can't figure out how to do a hockey stop. I can stop but I can't place my skates at the same angle you have in the video. Any tips?.

no! if your starting out check stops then a bit of slip is better for learning because with sharp skates the blades bite more into the ice and without experiance you could end up falling over a lot

Also notice how most of the ice comes from his front leg, this is because most of the weight when stopping comes from the front foot.

That player is a young Jeff Friesen. The rink is the North Rink at Logitech Ice in San Jose, Ca. Its still there, and the building has added 2 more rinks since then. The South Rink is the official rink adjacent to the locker room for the San Jose Sharks. Plenty of away teams use the East rink for practice. GO SHARKS!!

with freshly sharpened skates :P, lol if you want to spray alot, stop really sharp (meaning fast,) angle your skates, and instead of looking where the ice goes keep your head in line with your skates, more goes up. Oh and the faster you go and the faster you stop, the more goes p.
