  • look a little closer you can hear the cam at exactly 4500 or 0:06

  • @jarrad8616

That was just when he accelerated harder. You can hear VTEC engage just after 5000rpm

  • @ndogg360 no quit being stupid. 4500 no if ands or buts

  • @jarrad8616

maybe you should read what the uploader of the video, and owner of the car, said before you act like a retard mate. Vtec didnt kick in at 4500. Thats when he accelerated. If you had a decent set of ears, you would hear vtec kick in just after 5k.

  • @ndogg360 nah bro you stupid you can hear the vtec cam at 4500 just like any honda

  • @jarrad8616 how does a cam sound like

  • @jarrad8616 how does a cam sound like

  • @jarrad8616 how does a cam sound like

  • @jarrad8616 how does a cam sound like

  • Yeah deff revving slow at the beginning. Mines stock and it revs just like his at the end.

  • You can tell you have a lightweight flywheel.. revs quick.

  • so the flywheel and clutch make a difference heh :) im htinkin of doing same! great car man! 5 stars!

  • EVERYONE NOTICE THAT WHITE NUMBERS ARE MPH AND ORANGE KMH!!

  • You guys do know he's not full throttle at the beggining right.

  • stock upgrades?

  • I was hoping to a see a modded one. If it's modded...well..then I'm sorry.

  • I aint gonna lie. That was pretty fast

  • i know this might be on some ones post but i cant find it and have a hard time so take it easy on me.. i have a jdm h22a and recently blew a b20 turbo dc integra doors off.. the catch is my timing was off like 180 degrees off when i smashed the b20 turbo and now im piston rings are ****ed and pistons are cracked bad.. the only pistons i could get a hold of were h22a1 so where would i be at now with h22a1 pistons?? and what would my 1/4 time be in a 93 dx eg

  • What's a pull? lol.

  • i domt know why ppl are hating saying your slow. you did a slow rolling start. it doesnt say he was drag racing. with all the stuff he has on there of course he can do it in 6.5 sec. dumb asses

  • nice accel, stock? My 07 surburban will pull away from this car at start... but the car will catch up QUICK once it gets speed :(. 0-60 7ish seconds.

The V-Tec kicking in just makes me want to drive a decent maintined Honda to tell you the truth. Light, modest power for weight, and pretty good handling for a low low price!

  • umm to all the idiots talking about powershifting. shut up. this guy probably actually cares about the car and doesnt want to do any damage to it.

  • powershift that bitch!!! lol jk jk

  • that was slow 8 seconds 0-60

  • yo can anyone tell me wat gen and wat year to get a prelude i wantbut i just cant pick so if u do message me back

  • dont newer hondas have rpm limiter that whenever you hit redline it automatically stop engine spining untill shift into next gear?

i just noticed it in my 03 ep3 when i was racing with miata, of couse I SMOKE THAT LOOSE GOCART lol

  • does your vtec kick in at 4500?

  • @Haakonson55

no thats just when I began to accelerate

  • @HndPrldSH 5500

  • @Haakonson55

In H22 vtec kick over 5k rpm, that what you hear at 4,5 is IAB

  • @Haakonson55 stock vtec kicks in around 6 k unfortunately

  • @xnixsin you dont know what your talking about vtec kicks at 4500

  • Comment removed

  • @jarrad8616 yes I would have no idea considering I own 3 Preludes. That may be what the brochure says but if you watch the video it doesn't kck in until around 5k, and that depends on the amount of throttle.

  • How you keep your gauge cluster so damn clean?!

  • I wonder if all 5th gen Prelude owners have realized this:

That font for the numbers on the tach and speedometer is TIGHT!

  • Preludes are so sexy

  • Dude, where'd you get that gauge cluster?

  • @sweetlikeADAM You can pop the rings out and spray them yourself

  • Not a big Honda fan, but I do like Preludes. VTECs are crazy, but I hate ricers that talk about it every 5 seconds and they don't even know what it stands for but they say the phrase because that's all they know.

  • i have a jdm h22a1.. it came from japan or america??

  • @pgo05 JDM stands for Japanese domestic market. So take a guess ;)

  • @FLINGDOF lol i know but a rhumor says that jdm stole the engine in canada and sell them in other countries..

  • @pgo05 Interesting, did not know that. Don't really know anything on the subject :) thanks for the input.

  • Well if you watch he didnt even get on it tell ike 5k so it wasnt 0-60

  • still lighter than pretty much every domestic car tho. and four cylinders hangin with mustang gt's, if not beating them, i would say is pretty impressive.

  • 5th gen are basiaclly tanks

  • @jerryscherry really? how do you explain the award it won for best handling car under $30k? tanks my ass

  • Tanks as in weight maybe 3,000+ lbs aint nothing to be proud about

  • weird.. a stock base prelude would get around 6 ~ 6.5 secs, but the vid your SH shows around 7.8~8secs.. did you have a passenger on board while filming this or is it cause of the atts.

    Nice film quality.

  • @shawnster44 I didnt do a 0-60 run there. stock base could do 7 secs maybe high 6 if this person really knew how to shift but definitely not 6.

  • no launch and not full throttle untill 4.5k defo wasnt a run

  • If anything the sh would be slower. the only difference between the base and sh is atts which serves no purpose in a straight line and just adds 80 pounds to the car

  • @HndPrldSH In the Motor Week test of the Prelude Type SH, they managed a "swift" 0-60 time of 6.5 sec. (professional driver, of course).

  • @shawnster44 he didn't full throttle until about 20mph

  • @shawnster44 he didnt floor it right off the bat.. this isnt accurate. he began flooring it after 20mph../ 4500rpm.

  • @shawnster44 SH is heavier and has the same motor so its technically a very little bit slower

  • @shawnster44 a passenger wouldn't make much of a difference

  • @wallen2k9 ehh 200 pounds can make a difference

  • 2954 in the base prelude. the atts system adds like 100 pounds, so i think you would probably be better off with a base model and then throwing an aftermarket LSD in.

  • @HndPrldSH

finally, a realistic prelude owner. I feel the same way about the weight of my old prelude. too hefty, but still a fun car.

  • @HndPrldSH lmao

  • @Kevin01SH when was this?! must be before 2003 because last time i checked it was the srt4

  • @vtownHduece it was in 1997, im sure if they still made the prelude it would still be among the leaders

  • @Kevin01SH no way... srt4's kill preludes and its also a 4 door

  • @vtownHduece yeah but its turbo'd ...turbo a prelude...and the srt4 is done for

  • @coandcaiv ya but thats not from the factory... a 2003 stock srt would kill the newest prelude...

  • @vtownHduece yeah, im just saying though...if you do to the prelude what is done t\o the srt4....the srt4 would see honda tail lights lol....

  • @vtownHduece Big difference between a SRT-4 vs. a Prelude.

  • @anime891 no shit

  • @vtownHduece No shit? Then why compare it and say the SRT-4 will murder the Prelude? When in fact, there's such a big difference between the cars. They're not in the same league obviously.

  • @Kevin01SH , h22 ludes are quick as fuck defo under 7 seconds

  • nice mod with the silver paint color for the rings.... I did mine as well since it's so easy to do...

  • how????!?!?!?!?!??!?

  • he probably bought the prelude to have a prelude. not sum swapped piece of shit.

  • nice lude..does the flywheel make a noticable difference?.im gettin a 5th gen in spring so im researching now.

  • slow

  • hes shifting at redline almost every time, how the hell is he granny shifting? idiot

  • Don't mind him... He's just retarded. LOL. He probably has an automatic with tap shift thinking he's a fast shifter cuz he can tap the shifter forward faster than this guy can shift with a manual gearbox.

  • Man, this is the Honda and VTI VTEC :) more RPM si ok, motor have FUN ! He shifting at 8000 rpm, its not more for this motor :)

  • @donnyinlakai561 LOL! granny shifting isn how high you rev your engine... its how fast you shift from gear to gear.. you sir are the "idiot" in this situation.

  • @donnyinlakai561 granny shifting has to do more with the speed that you shift not the RPM that you shift at

  • @donnyinlakai561 let the lil kid go away he just said that since he saw the movie lol

  • @donnyinlakai561 lol you have to remember everyone bases everything off fast and the furious

  • @donnyinlakai561 whats granny shifting?

  • @eddp777 shifting normal. "not double clutching when you should." haha

  • @krumpinSamoan so if he's not shifting normally, how is he shifting?

  • @eddp777 i said he is shifting normal. granny shifting is shifting normal. the quote was a quote from fast and furious but i guess you didnt get it.

  • @krumpinSamoan no yea i got it!

  • @eddp777 hahaha good

  • @donnyinlakai561 some people want their syncros to last

  • '09... transmission still works

    '10... transmission still works

Upshifting is upshifting. It doesn't make a difference whether you thrash your tranny or not.

  • 8 seconds.....cool....check out mine !

    SR20 Tomei powered

  • Pretty quick pull for a prelude-

  • i pity those that dont have a supercharger or a turbo on their lude yet.

    DO IT

then laugh at others when u pass them

  • You pity people who can't put a $6,000 dollar turbo/ss install into their 6,000 dollar prelude?

  • hahahah for real,,,sorry i'm still in school making 9 dollars an hour landscaping.

  • Word.

  • lmao haha na but u can get some turbo cheaper like around 1-2grand but people aint got that kinda money these days lol if u want trubo i suggest u start with a 240sx sr20det make sure u buy it with a engine swap ( sr20det ) there pretty fast u can wath my vid but yeah lol

  • Not everyone has 6g's to flop bro.

  • is the driveability compromised much with that flywheel in that prelude

  • Comment removed

  • hey i was wondering which exact ACT clutch and Flywheel did you purchase? hows street driving as well?

  • wtff...my preludes 1st gear doesnt pull that slow..dont think he was flooring it in the beginning..i think he floored it when he got lose to vtec hahha

  • close to vtec lmao my bad...wtf is lose to vtec haha

  • vtec goes bruuuuummmmmm!

  • 7-8 sec? lol slow

  • look with your eyes...when he start he not pull the gaz ...LOLL.. he can do 6

  • i tihnk my friend has down syndrome he said his cousins 2001 celica gt went 0-60 in like 6 seconds and its only got air intake intercooler and some suspension shit..

  • no it didnt

  • what ECU do you have cuz it kicked in at 4300 rpms? .........man, cant wait til i get my H22......i got the H22 but i dont know if i should put it in the F22 block.

  • slow as shit

  • ever since i swap to a h22a jdm it wont let me do more than 6400 rpms, i used to do more than that, does anyone KNOW?

  • Did u swap the ECU as well? If u didn't then that's your problem. Or just try some after market ECU tuning such as Hondata.

  • it looks exactly like the same pull i have...

    99sh..

    word son

  • That shit was mean.

    Very nice!

    5*

  • The V tech Kicks tha 1st gear good job

  • vtech is a phone company, its vtec for varialbe valve timing and lift electronic control

  • haha i love tellin people that

the best is when they put stickers with it on their cars mmajor dumb asses

  • wow

    good video quality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    and vtec is cool too

  • GJ staying in Vtec

  • Those gauges look great !

  • they really do wow

  • aLl hondas sound alike for some reason.!

  • Well all toyotas sound alike too....(all kidding aside).

  • kenapa lambat pakai tali pinggang kaledar

  • Nice job staying in VTEC shift after shift.

  • Amazing quality video... Dude put a cold air intake and do a 5 Minute test drive video!!!!!!!! If u do Make sure u msg me and let me know!

  • shut the fuck up you faggot

  • clean gauges :]]

  • right and wrong.

H22a4 yes. Its 195 auto, and something like 199 horsepower, but thats bhp, not whp. The bhp on a 210 whp car is probably 230. Usually about 10% loss due to transfer of power from motor to wheels.

  • what he said

  • you're also right and wrong:

97-98 preludes come with 195bhp stock on manual set up and 190bhp auto. 99-01 gains 5 horses.

The chrome gauge rings come stock for 99-01 ludes.

  • You wouldn't happen to belong to prelude forums ... like PO, PP, or PZ would you? I belong to PZ and PP myself

  • nope. he painted them himself. the rings aren't stock brother.

  • Im into PP but mostly joined just to buy stuff lol. how do you like PZ?

  • PZ is pretty cool. PP has more information, and more big builds, but PZ all around has a nicer atmosphere. PreludeZone will always be my home. You should look into it.

  • will do man thanks for the info. do you have the same user name there?

  • no my user name is Smok3y. Shoot me a PM when you sign up. You can find me all over the forums, or just check the members list.

  • the high contrast makes my eyes burn lol

  • not exactly, the chrome gauges are not stock, there is a write up on how to DIY, i did mine white since i own a 2000 prelude, and mine came stock black

  • right n wrong u can lose up 2 25% of the power in a fwd car

  • In a FWD car yes, but there is roughly a 15% loss in preludes. 190 to 165 ... I'm not convertin to decimals and percents and shit. you do the math.

  • 25% is rare.. usually 15% is average.

  • I think usual in fwd with a manual is 10-15 and rwd is 20-25

  • nice guages

  • hey guys i have a question, what is the difference between a h22a1 and a h22a4? can some1 reply? and also what does it mean by

    'BB6'

    thanks

  • BB6 is the chassis code for a US model 97-01 Prelude. A H22a1 is in a 92-96 (BB4) Prelude and only has 190hp and a H22a4 has 195hp.

  • but dont some preludes come with 220 hp stock?

  • yeah the Prelude Type-S comes with 220hp. They where never sold in the US.

  • so the prelude type-s what kind of h22a is it? and where were these ones sold?

  • h22a red top.

  • did you let off at 70?

  • yeah, I'm making a new video soon. Starting at 0 and going higher

  • I figured. I've ridden in a couple and third gear seems to be the best

  • where did you get the silver trim for your speedometer?

  • I painted the stock bezels

  • they should have made the prelude a rwd car, but still its a great car to modify and tune

  • very nice, clean shifting, smooth car and good driver.

  • OK i dont wnana sound stupid so dont talk shit to mee. but i have a automatic prelude and want to know when im just driving around if it should be in D3 or D4 cause it confuses the fuck out of me. =(.

  • (I don't have a Prelude, but I think this applies to all autos.) D4 will get you better fuel economy. It uses all four gears; D3 limits the transmission to the first three gears. When cruising, shift from D3 to D4 and you'll see the revs drop, which will save fuel. I not sure why you'd ever need to use D3, unless you want to try to shift manually.

  • ohh ok. thankyou.

  • p

    r

    n

    d4

    d3

    2

its like this right... in "2" it starts in second and oly gose that far but up to 8 grand in d3 it starts in 1st but only to 5300 rpm untill it gose to 3rd gear then it will go to 8000 grand in d4 its the same as d3 but in 4th it will go to 8000 rpm so if u wont the opeak power in ur car do this start in d3 untill it shifts then go to 2 untill u wont to shift the n go to d3 intill u wont to shift then 4 as a final gear BUT DONT BLOW UR MOTOR!

  • i remember hearing a rumor that HASport is working on motor mounts for the 97+ ludes so they can fit K24s in them. Dont know if that's true or not, given the hood clearance would be very very tight...

still a decent car by standards

  • too bad he bought it like that.. try building your own and then talk you fucking loser with the pos lude that weighs 5000 tons.. i have smoked a lude just like this in my old stock integra.. this isnt shit..

  • haha, i doubt that. your integra doesn't know what torque is.

  • hahaha. definitely giving a thumbs up for this comment.

  • You can't time 0-60 here because he doesn't even start from 0.

  • 0-60 in 7 seconds ain't bad!

  • that was actualy 8 sec he starts on 2 sec of the video and reaches 60mph at 10 of the video do the math. ITS stock speed from 0-60

  • 8 seconds indeed. My stock LS did that no problem, even before I learned how to shift at the proper times.

  • This was a not a 0-60 run it was supposed to be 20 to 100 but I had to quit early. before 20 mph I was making a 90 degree turn onto the road and barely gave it any gas. Stock 0-60 for a Prelude is 7.2 secs

  • not bad

  • you did about 20-70 in 6, which is very good.

  • it looks so clean.

  • Awsome lude
