  • Just incredible to a film of Arsenal from 100 yrs ago

  • Did You Know That They Beat Paris XI 26-1

And Paris XI 's Hodge Scored a Goal Because The Arsenal Let Him Score!and This Match Was Held on Plumstead on Dec. 25,1904

  • @Jbieberlover06

true. The funny thing is Hodge was an Arsenal player but played for Paris because they were a man short!

  • Woolish aresenal? What the hell is that? Why aren't they called that today then?

  • Because we moved away from Woolwich.

  • Why?

  • The club very nearly went bankrupt a couple of times, one of the main problems being the terrible transport links. These also hampered the club as being the only team south of Birmingham in the League there was a lot of hard travelling to away games. Highbury was minutes from central London and it's transport links.

  • the two real english teams

  • GOOD OLD ARSENAL.

  • Hi Sue. Quite right about the keeper - he played 18 league games that season (including the first 15). Apparently he was an Army man who played for the Fusiliers as well, and was a musician in the Royal Artillery Band.

  • Was very happy to see this video. I think the Arsenal goalie may be an ancestor of mine my great great uncle George Burdett

  • Hi Sue, the Arsenal goalie was my grandfather George Charles Burdett. I know little about his family but think he may have had two brothers. He died in 1929 when my dad was 14. Barry Burdett
