Videos like this chase potential players away by not showing what makes the game so special. People who know the game hate reading comments claiming it's a Mario clone, but the video does nothing to show otherwise.

I know the first few levels have a lot of Mario references, but it doesn't detract from the gameplay like it does in this clip. If we want indie titles to be more successful, we can't let videos like this be the introduction to the game.

I personally stopped listening to people once I heard it was a puzzle game in which you could reverse time and with various gimmicks. I didn't want it (or any of the world gimmicks) spoiled, and I wouldn't have videos spoil it for people who haven't played it either. This is adequate when accompanied by word of mouth.

This game is no mario remake, as other people have said, the gameplay and puzzle solving revolves around time manipulation, you can effect time in different ways in the various worlds. Genius game, beautiful graphics, very nice music.. a pleasure to play. AND its an indie title.

Well, a video looks boring, but it is fault of video author, not the game. The main feature in Braid is time manipulation, which wasn't present on the video. Game itself is fascinating, and it is definietly not a mario remake. Game is more about thinking than jumping in the right second, and the puzzles are really enjoyable. And, in the end - it is just beautiful, with great music. One of best games I have played lately.

Mario starting as far back as 1981 and had you rescuing a girl from a giant ape in Donkey Kong and thereafter by the mid 80's had you rescuing her from Castle, so that is a good 24 years if you base it on the NES Mario and a good 29 years from his original inception. A game called Ghosts n' Goblins had you rescuing a princess from an evil prick as well as she was whisked off to his castle in 1985, so would you say he stole the idea from that as well? .. The game plays hardly anything like Mario

What's AMAZING about this game, that some neanderthals don't understand, is that for all intents and purposes, other than obtaining the rights to the music, ONE GUY made the WHOLE GAME.

I downloaded the Demo after seeing the reviews thinking "wtf is wrong with people?" and was completely blown away.

The Demo is on Live for zero dinero, and I highly reckomend it.
