    way back.

    really great song.

  • one of the best songs ever and I’m not his biggest fan

  • Music has changed. Wholesome songs with simple riffs that stick are rare. Hiphop blows.

  • Oh man. Sophomore year in high school. Thanks for posting.

  • i wish i could sing like rod!.......and sam cooke.

  • Even though Rod has a strange un-beautiful voice--If you listen carefully, it is always in tune!

  • Rod was a guy who never had a beautiful voice...but made his voice work perfectly and therefore made outstanding music

  • what clown hit the dislike, theres all ways 1

  • @icecreamman540 Maybe he had Parkinson's and hit it accidentally?

It's the only explanation I can think of

  • @otisshinigami Rod had thoart cancer and survived!

  • Rod Stewart is the king of mellow music and that's why he is one of my favourites

  • uh..where is the part about the slit eye lady?

  • @pbrick6301 wrong song kiddo

  • @pbrick6301 That's "Every Picture Tells A Story".

  • Brings back so many memories.

  • wey love this xxx

  • when music had a meaning!

  • this is off the soundtrack to my life

  • Rod at His best

  • I always considered this as 'the other Maggie May song'. I like the mood of these songs and this particular era of Rod Stewart. I should mention that I actually heard "You Wear It Well" played on our local Classic Country AM station not too long ago - kind of odd, but somehow it fit right in.

  • @MisterEvasion I can definitely see that. I like this one more than Maggie, but they are both great and there are definitely similarities there.

  • What a truly great song.

  • I got dizzy running in circles around a mall listening to this

  • Total Brilliance

  • As perfect as the day I first heard it...I was 9 years old, I think...

  • Great pop song.. :)

  • One of my favs. Love the Rodster.

  • Rod is as Timeless as this song and Faces

  • thanks man, just frikin brill.

  • Listen to what you want, we all grow up with our favourites, all music rocks, all music is great so listen to what you all want, to heck with ones who condemn what you like or hate...just do it and ignore the others. Period.

  • I wear it well.

  • the fact that its from a classic artist and its a piece of real music unlike all the crap out nower days all those american rappers are fucken fags imo. all they do is sing about is either pointless crap or the same shit all the time or tryna big note themselves... its gay ayy. theres nothing old school like the old school ayy. good work rod

  • Tbh i'm 14 and people think it's strange i listen to this sorta stuff... why?

  • @TheGuitarman2102 Tbh I'm 453 years old and no one gives a fuck about how old you are. As for the "people", call them douche bags and kick em in the balls.

  • @klapp08 Shut up, douche bag. Nobody cares what you think.

  • @TheGuitarman2102. LoL! I'm 31 and people think I'm strange for liking 70s/80s music such as this classic. Who cares?? Most people listen to what their friends like or what is 'cool'... Don't feel strange for having taste my friend.

  • The drumming is part of what makes this good.

I think I'd like this if it were brand new, but add the memories to the song as it is in itself and you've got something that makes you feel that sort of feels-good sadness.

  • It is a Classic, unlike todays Rap crap, todaysRap Crap doesn't get close to this.

  • Im a hard house and trance fan. and yet i recognise the brilliance of this music. its good for old shit.

  • They don't make songs like this anymore. Once in a while you here a modern song that sounds good, but most of the songs today are just missing something. Maybe its talent?

  • I have loved this song forever.

  • Take note of the bass riff. It really doesn't get much better than that. A top notch song from the greatest music era. Thanks for posting it!

  • @ThatSojourner You're right. I love the bass and guitar in this song. I know ron wood played guitar for the faces, but who played bass?

  • you wear it well, I like it when you dont wear it at all

  • EAT DA POO POO!!!

  • So when the sun goes low and you're home all alone, think of me and try not to laugh...

  • Rod Stewart is truly one of the greatest singer/songwriter/performers there has ever been and will ever be. I saw him live in 1978 and remember thinking... "I bet people will be listening to this guy years and years from now".

  • @ronmay13 damn right. long live rock!!!

  • That's talent!!!!!

  • he just fathered another child.. Viagra?

  • @kieleed48 might not

  • @kieleed48 i hope thats not the name of the child haha

  • they just dont make music like this anymore...

  • Awesome song.

  • Bad drumming my ass thats what make his recordings so great sounds like their playing out in your garage

  • loveee this song!

  • PAPASITO SAOOO... TE AMO!! S

  • Terrible drumming in this song.

  • @GothicGroucho What's wrong with it? I'm not flaming you, I'm genuinely curious. It seems like a very straight forward 4/4 beat--is it off-beat or something?

  • @fatasterisk if you want to be picky you would say lack of improvising, imagination, a rather dull sound, a 60s-style. not terrible though

  • @GothicGroucho

Those of us from the 60's-70's era still enjoy hearing the analog drumming that we grew up with. The rawness in this song is what makes it special.

  • There was some damn good music made back in '72!

  • Great song.

    Nothing beats stuff like this.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • "I feel it without trying..."

  • i love this song rod stewart is so hot.

  • "I feel it without even trying..."

  • Rock was a mack Dad.

I gotta say, when I was younger I thought Rod was a joke. But when I heard his rock stuff with Faces I was blown away. Just beautiful, soulful music that speaks to the heart. Love the Violin.

  • If only he kept recording these bluesy-soulful songs with The Faces.....

  • oh yes.............

  • Maggie May gets most airplay but I prefer You Wear It Well. He also had a gift for covering other artists' songs and making them sound like his own. I am thinking of Tim Hardin's Reason to Believe and The Supremes' You Keep Me Hanging On' which are very different styles but both work really well.

  • I remember dancing to this at the Montrose Club in Houston. Dancers from the theatre district would show up & show off - they were great. Everyone would stomp on the wooden floor to this song while they danced.

  • This and "Maggie May" were Rod's finest.

  • one of my fav artists

  • Great song! I can forgive him for the crap he puts out now.

  • Vintage Mr. Stewart! The most recognizable voice in rock n roll history. PEACE

  • " I still remember those basment parties, your bothers katate" LOL..what classic unique wondeful lyrics. I remember practicing ( or something like it) my karate when i was a kid in front of my older sister and her boyfriend..rings true for me. great Tune Rod. you are the man !

  • @seany722 Those are cool lyrics, all my life I thought it said "your brother's ferrari" ....lol

  • FANTASTIC TUNE!!!! :-)

  • Reminds me of when I was in high school. Was my favorite song when it was released. I listen to it again and again, just to go back to a great time in my life. It was Rod at his best.

  • i wish music was still like this

  • amen to that.

  • timeless classic

  • FINALLY A REAL RECORDING!!!!! THANX

  • Todays musics has got nothing on this timeless classic!!!

  • @Yardbird68

I think every person of a certain age has said that, since the dawn of time!

  • @MrCeej9999 age or generation has nothing to do with it, there r song by from various artists from 30's - 2000's ( or even classical like Bach etc. ) that I like better than Rod, this includes this song. But of a truth "for me".....I would prefer to listen to this song over any group of today. On the other hand, I would prefer to listen to other songs from various times and generations over this song.

  • @Yardbird68 - I agree, the creativity and soul that old music seems to fall on deaf ears with the children of today. Music definitely reflects the philosophy of ' the heart " -like listening to some of John Lennon's lyrics, or ELP's Synthesizer work, or Jimmy Page's uke told a story- like folk tales around a campfire that gave respect to the old souls wafting above since time eternal. The new kids WANT their new BMW's , want a ho girlfriend, want that - with no respect to the past- it's sad

  • @yipeokia1 I can't completely agree here. I have tons of friends whose kids LOVE the music their parents and I grew up with. I have also seen lots of comments here on YOUTUBE from young people lamenting the fact that today's music does not measure up to "classic rock" and music of that era. I think what you are seeing is more attributable to the corporatization of the music industry that started back in the late 70's ulitmately killing "Album Rock" and much of quality radio at the same time.

  • @jchofler3 - I have to agree somewhat with you; I think that " the corporate guys who once asked the question- " Which one is pink " are the same lazy -assed folks who killed Detriot. They are now scrambling to try and bend the curve back to interest in musical creativity with shows like " American Idol ", etc. Kids, however should'nt just play music to become millionaires, they should play because it's fun, and creative, and cool, and it's something positive to do. It also takes practice.

  • @yipeokia1 Agreed - "Kids, however should'nt just play music to become millionaires, they should play because it's fun, and creative, and cool, and it's something positive to do." Someone once said the reason you should go into business is because you enjoy the business itself, then you will make money at it. If you are just doing it for the sake of money, don't bother. A lesson the vast majority of MBA's have yet to learn, much to the detriment of us all!

  • Love it.

  • Love this song!!
