  • thanks jon. is there a good spider chat room?

  • arachnophiles

  • hey ive had my goliath blondi for 8 months she has not ate in 3 months. her abdomen is darkaning and she rarely moves. is this bad or will she molt soon, who knows can u help!, ive held her lots she is about 6-7" and very friendly. what should i do. the humidity is at 80% so i think thats fine. pls reply

  • I wouldn't count on your T.blondi being a friendly species. They're bite causes mechanical damage.

It looks like your specimen is about to molt soon. You should not offer it food until it week after its done so. You have to crank up the humidity or else it will not survive. T.blondi have chronic molting problems and they can't molt out if there's not enough humidity or if they high calcium diet.

85% is the dry season, so you need about 85-90% when its going to molt. I put a humidifer near

  • to ensure a good molting

  • wow, ok thanks for the rely. she keeps laying in the same spot for days not moving barely at all. how long till she molts u think?

  • hey john my cobalt has been running around the tank lately which she never does have any idea y

  • i have a pet funnel web im to scared to go near it i caught it with a few of my friends have you got any tips on how to care for one or sunthing like that i dont wonna get bit and die lol pls help me sorry for the essay

  • no idea, because I never owned one or would own such dangerous spiders.

My guess would be to put it in a 2.5 gallon enclosure with substrate and hide. But for your safety I would suggest to release it.

  • tht t.blondi eats like hell

  • I'm sorry to hear about your G. rosea, poor little grumpy bug:(

I have had adult tarantulas for many years and have recently bought 10 different spiderlings. I have read so much and watched many videos, but was wondering if you would be willing to post a video on spiderling care. Forgive my request if you've already done this. I have watched many of your videos and have not found one on this subject. What do you think?

  • Actually one is coming up. I made the video today, I just have to take time to sit down, edit it and put it all together.

  • That will be a good vid

  • do u have any videos of ur cobalt blue? plz

  • yes, I do have some, but not very many. She hides all the time so I can't get a decent video of her. Her latest video was tarantula feeding video 13

  • your spiders creep me out!but its cool how they eat the cricket

  • can you film your 16-year-old female rose hair eating?

  • wish I could, but she unfortunately passed away due to old age, I'd just seen you just commented on the vid

  • i've heard the H. Gigas can swim. is that true?

  • yes, they can

  • Hey jon, very cool vid. Thanks for sharing:)

  • my pleasure

  • great video Jon I just loved it awsome verity of T's man oh I forgot to ask you when you get you shipment of T's from Alex your are you going to do an unboxing video cause that would be really cool if you did man

  • I'd do an unpacking video but now there's a big possibility that Alex will refund money, because one of my youtuber friends just backstabbed me and told Alex I said mean things behind my back, of course which isn't true

  • So you might not get that shipment Jon?

  • Awesome vid, thanks for fulfilling my request. Your boehmei is quite nervous and I saw that upside triangle, I'm still having hope that my new girl is a baumgarteni but we'll see. Dude ur blondi was like all over the place, I wouldn't stick my finger in there, great vid bro.

  • Ya, she's the most nervous one. My other brachys are quite calm

  • haha T.Gigas tried to make a break for it!

ddnt she try to run away once b4?

    im feeding mine tonight.

ill c if i can make a vid

i c that you have acquired a camera man hehe

  • nah, its the first time she tried to.

Sweet! Yup, its hard holding crickets, a flashlight and a camera with both hands

  • nice bro !!!

  • thanks

  • Cool:)

  • Thanks

  • Welcome and pretty colored spiders I might add.

  • Ya, I love choosing the most colored :)

  • Awesome:)

  • ha the H. gigas was like "Leave me alone! I'm not a fatty, no matter how many crix i eat at one time!" lol

oh btw, i think my B. vagans i =s in premolt, it hasnt eaten in 12 days and i have offered it food ever since wednesday. Im not sure, however because its not getting dark in color yet. Its a little sling...about 1"

  • lol :)

Ya, slings of B.vagans wont show any color until they're about 1.5-2 inches, which will probably be its next molt. Congrats on the premolt, hope it you get a nice successful one :)

  • hopefully, i have always wanted to see a live molt...its like watching paint dry, right?

  • when it initially lies on its back, ya... but once its starts, it doesnt take that long

  • sweet...if it hasnt eaten in 12 days, roughly how much longer would you say till it flips on its back? also, vagans slings dont turn dark before a molt?

  • cant really say, make within 1-2 weeks.

Oh, I meant post molt that they'll grow their color.

  • oh ok thanks...he is a mean little guy though...i will hold him eventually lol maybe after the molt and he hardens up so he isnt as small and fast. I have held my albiceps twice...i have no clue why but i have a feeling the vagans is male and albiceps is female....watch them both be male now that i said that lol

  • Ya, vagans are one of the meaner ones, I wouldn't trust holding my female

  • odd my vagans is very docile, then again it's still a 3" baby, smaller than yours. It can barely take down a large cricket, and I can I hold it anytime I want to.

  • thats good, it always depends on the individual tarantula

  • awesome feeding vid man 5 stars

  • Thanks man, man that T.gigas scared the hell out of me :)
