It does, inderictly though, more PSI = more power = more strain on tranny.

But it really doesn't make sense to only ask how he made the trans sustain the high PSI, as there are many other things that make the car more powerful.

@Killer91109 well my bad or not being more specific I just wanted to know how to bullet proof a tranny so it can sustain atleast turbo thats built to make 280 hp because I have an 08 lancer es 5 speed manual so just wanted to know what I can do so I can be running 280 hp with no problems I know I need an cold air intake, intercooler, tranny cooler, and A performance exhaust, headers, performance chip etc. only thing is stopping me is the tranny to sustain all the psi build up and strain.

@swat305GINO You should be fine up to around 350AWHP and 300AWTQ. Make sure you get dyno-tuned by a professional, that is THE most important thing!

@swat305GINO I'm a little more familiar with Subarus than I am with Mitsus, but I know that a WRX tranny around those numbers SHOULD last as long as the car lasts. Mind you, that's only if you don't drive like an asshat.

The longevity of the transmission depends on how you drive. Try to avoid launches and VERY hard shifting if you want it to last, any power level can break it by doing the above, but more power will help to break it.

Around those numbers, just be careful and no launches!
