  • Nice, did you do any other videos?

  • awesome taste in music ( jeff waynes War of the worlds! )

  • i hate how people just try to tell you what your doing "wrong", like their credible sources. lol

  • you have too much sound foam. it would make the sound too dead.

  • love the hardware i used to have a similar set up but as they get less and less used i flogged them off. got a stunning soft synth call Samplelogic Morphestra

P.S. where can we here all you music

  • Nice synth collection! If you ever want to add some new and innovative gear you should check out our StudioBLADE keyboard workstation. Its powered by Windows 7 and will run any windows compatible software/plug-ins. Its like having a synth with a swappable engine. Check out the videos on our channel!

  • Very nice setup!! I luv all ur synths man!

  • The music sounds way too computerized. That makes it sound cold with no heart or warmth.

Plus you spent way too much on gagets that creates that type of music. You could do the same on 1/10th the amount of money.

    Terry

  • @turntaker Yeah, people may think that...But each synth has it's own strength and character...If you just use the instruments/presets in Logic or Cubase...you sound the same as everyone else...

  • @magikroom

Thats true, But don't u have enough with the M3?

  • omfg.....dude...are you freaking rich or something...

  • @utprizzo Far from it...but I've been buying synths for over 20 years, so you end up trading...

  • Why dont you sell all of those and get a korg oasys?

  • synthesizers are the only thing missing from my studio

  • nicest home studio i have seen ur soooo lucky i would love to have stuff like that i cant afford a proper synth but i really need one even if its old lol oh well fair play to u man

  • @ChiiefProductiiionZ Cheers mate...listened to your stuff...really good, stick with it. I do use some software synths, but prefer hardware...that said, Omnisphere and Maschine sound great. Have updated a few bits since the video, with an R3, GAIA and Blofeld and sold my Moog and a few other bits, plus am going over to Logic on Mac soon.

  • @magikroom im also getting a 27inch imac its the way forward :). thankyou for checking out my videos my man. your studio is the best i have seen on youtube big props to you bro

  • @magikroom Ever used Samson, Sennheiser, AKG, Lauten Oceanus, Shure, Electro-Voice, Neumann, Audio-Technica, Audix, Berhinger, Blue Mics, etc?

  • Really nice dude, you should be proud :-)

  • i have a question. you say you dont produce for a living, well you said do that when your not working. And i was wondering what kind of job do you have that lets you afford all of that equipment. And do you just use it for fun or you do projects here and there? Im asking because im not sure what exactly i want to do after senior year. I want to become a music producer but im afraid i wont make a comfortable living. so right now its between music production, and medicine. any help?

  • @beatbox111104 Good question...I gigged for 10 years and got signed in 99, but they were a bunch of Sharks and I decided to put my time into Web Design, while still gigging...this enabled me to get kit and once you have a fair bit, you tend to trade up or down for new bits.

I actually shoot and edit video ads for a national company in the UK and don't blow my dosh on going out, fancy cars, that said, my spending of kit has reduced. If you want to be a Producer, go for it and don't look back.

  • Omg! Awesome dude!

  • @beatbox111104 Cheers...about time I did an update I think!

  • That's the best set-up i've ever seen! Check out my set-up tho (:

  • Lovely setup!

I'd like to hear more of your music ;)

  • damn those tannoy monitors are fecking lovely... do want!!

    very nice setup there :)

  • Nice little studio you have. You have a lot of cool equipment :D

Have you ever composed anything with these synths yet?

  • really cool studio whitch art of musik are you producing

  • Really Cool!

You've a very nice home studio

What's the monitors & model numbers?

Please show what you're using for racks....any effects?

  • damn i am far away from this equipment! just startet about 2 years ago... like your equipment and your music!!!

    great video!

  • @sanguis1989 Thanks, but you should see my Electric Bill each month...lol. Liked your tunes mate!

  • @magikroom haha yeah i think i can imagine ;)

thank you and greetings from germany =)

  • AAA NICE ROLAND V-SYNT!!! NICE

  • one of the best

  • hats off mate. sounds quality to me.

  • have you a mp 3 of this track???

    really great!!!!

  • Nice setup love it... Would love the ns10m you have there lol ....

  • @RAYGproductions Thanks for that...actually, i've just killed my NS10's. I don't use them flat and never have, I connect them up to a Graphic Equaliser, then a hi-fi amp and use them as hi-fi speakers...trouble is, I had a dodgy cable and it fried the tweeters. Got some Wharfedales in reserve and of course the Tannoy's. Has the Yamaha's for 15 years, only blew once before, but can't get original NS10 tweeters...just the studio version...

  • @magikroom I see them on eBay and you are right studio version only.I use Yamaha hs50m and i love them. Some say with the 2 Db Boost in the back they can sound some what to the ns10..Going to see if i could get a set of ns10 for my home studio..

  • You ever use Sonar 8? BTW, the home studio layout is great!

  • @Chicago10281 Tried Sonar, but couldn't get on with it. Been using Cubase since V2 on the Atari 1040..Can't teach a new Dog and all that :-)

  • thanks for the tour mate, your "little" studio is quite impressive, it's great to see this type video, very enjoyable.

  • zajebiste peace

  • That's my dream studio right there!

  • Thanks...The Gear is great, not so much the space I have. I used to have Log Cabin in my back garden 12ft by 10ft which I sound proofed and that was great to work in...now the neighbours complain!

  • LOL, Im just waitiin till I get a complaint about loud music

    nice stuff btw =D

  • every time u said "little" i died a bit inside, id love to have half the gear you do lol

nice mixer btw, i use a behringer as well

  • Cool, people knock Behringer but i've got loads of their stuff and used it in the studio and on stage...it's grreat.

  • Nice little studio mate, better than mine anyway. Drop in and listen to Antiqcool and say hello sometime, cheers.

  • nice my studios my shed lol

  • very little studio ? are you joking ?

  • yeah that's not little

  • DAMN MUSIC SOUNDS GREAT

  • What did that cost you?

  • I must have spent about 30 grand + on this obsession...

  • Same here. And it also gets a bit hot in my studio as well.

Great vid. Looking forward to more. 5*

  • Like the muzik at the end..totally different....at first i was a little puzzled but I was definately feeling it ....great execution with the hip hop field...:D i likeeeyyy!!!!!

  • Great, I mean GREAT studio and axes....when can we see your compositions...have you published some anywhere?

  • is the song at the end intended to sound like the terminator theme?

  • it's not meant too, but can see it now that you pointed it out...just knocked it up for the video...not done anything with it.

  • wow i would kill to have that studio foreal man my studio is smaller n ghetto

  • you aint the only one lol................but we gotta make due with what we got its all bout the music anyway

  • You're completely right...it's all about the music, not really about what you use. I started off with an Atari ST, Roland D10 and an ensoniq sampler with 29 seconds of sample time...all in mono! And created loads of music...i'm more of a collector now.

  • my dream room!!!!

  • Good job mate.

  • lol - hot in here :)

Hello - I really enjoyed seeing your studio setup. Thank you for the wonderful tour.

    Greetings from N.S. Canada

    PC user with Cakewalk Sonar

I was only a little bit dissapointed when I saw you use Cubase - it looked just like Sonar till you said it. :-D

    5/5

  • lol...sorry about Cubase! I've been using it since v2 on the Atari (1989). Just something i know inside out, though I do use Logic at work. Yeah, it does get hot in my little studio...I used to have Log Cabin a few years back that was my studio and that was even hotter! All the best!

  • hey magikroom! its been almost a year and still just the one video?!?!?!?

we have to see those units up close mate!

great setup though, want to hear that moog in all it's glory

  • yeah, will borrow a camera from work next weekend and do an in-depth review...in fact i've recently added a Waldorf Blofeld...what a piece of kit that is!

  • what kind of speakers are those on the stander bar?

  • Radias IS fatter sounding than the Virus, if you know how to program it. :)

  • cool

  • yo nigga i'm so happy u got more than 2 synthz too! i got this studio up in new york and holy shit muh nigga i got 8 synths!

  • hm cool you have lo many men

  • Incredibly elegant :)

  • Love it. YEAAA CUBASE. Umm I don't really understand signal processing could explain it to me? Great studio again

  • Thanks, that could take some time to explain, do you have any specific questions?

  • Like what is a signal processor....the simplified version LOL.

  • Hey is the behringer mixer working well, I'm considering on buying it?

    Nice home setup btw

  • Yeah, it works well, though I did get the Power Supply upgraded as it's a known problem with these mixers...cost me £90, but well worth it!

  • how much is the alesis in GBP?

  • which cubase do you use?

  • I use version 3, but after seeing version 5, i'm going to upgrade.

  • Yeah, the Alesis 8HD!!!

  • wow what a studio

i hope to have something like this someday

Id really appreciate your opinion on the following since youre Synth guru

Could you give me some insight on the differences between the Virus and the Nord 2x rack?

which would you rate better? which 1 would you recommend getting first if I have no other hardware Synth, only Logic.

    Thanks ! happy holidays!

  • Happy Holidays to you too. In answer to your question, I would go for the Virus, but the latest model. If you're used to soft synths and already have a keyboard controller, then go for the Virus Snow. The Nord is good, but limited in many ways. Apart from the Moog, the Virus has been my best buy!

  • Thanks a lot for the insight!

Just wanted to ask you another question,

The new Virus Snow vs. the Virus Polar

The Virus Snow is only 1 DSP as opposed to your 2 DSP engine

the Snow is only 4 multi timbral as opposed to your Polar's 16 Multi Timbral.

I use Logic 8 and I do have a controller like you mentioned, so definitely space wise, i prefer a table top, but could you give me some advice on whether you think "the lack of power" in the Snow would make it deficient?

  • ok, I said the Snow because of it's similar price range to the Nord...but if you can get hold of the Polar, then do. Out of all the virus range, the Polar will keep it's price for longer.

  • so I take it that you prefer hardware synths over softsynths LOL.... Are there any vst instruments that you like? I used to be a big hardware guy but nowadays they softsynths just sound incredible (for realistic sounds I mean, the access to computer memory makes it impossible to get a hardware sampler to perform anywhere near a computer based sample library). What do you use for realistic sounds like piano, drums, etc?

  • do u charge for someone to record in your studio??

  • Wow. Sick studio! I really liked this video because you explained your gear in great detail. I wish you would post more videos. Maybe you could show us how you really make your music or something.

I am really looking forward for more of your videos.

  • That sounded great. I tried cuebase and I liked it. I use pro tools. Have you seen pro tools 8? You should check it out. Its amazing. Take care. Nice video.

  • Yeah...looked at Protools and use Logic at work, but I've used Cubase since v2 on the Atari (1989) and just know it inside out. Glad you liked the Tour...not had much time recently to do anything, but will knock up some tutorials soon...all the best!

  • Nice Gear. Would you mind adding this video to my "Home Recording Studio" Group. Thanks.

  • Yeah, no problem

  • You have great gear on your studio. It would be good for newbies like myself if you could post some tutorials on how to setup all these devices, computer, mixers and keyboards.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks...yeah, will do some soon...anything in particular you want to know?

  • This is my gear:

    1) Nord Lead 2x

    2) Kurzweil 2000

    3) PC (powerful enough)

    4) M-Audio Delta 1010

    5) Edirol UA25

As for the software I use Fruity Loops 8. I would like to use MIDI IN & OUT of both keyboards and some samples as well.

I can do it at this moment but it is kind of messy and very difficult to save the settings for each keyboard on every project.

Any advice for the software? Thanks again.

  • Hiya,

    Very nice setup.

I can see the tech twinkle in your eye, I know it well.

I notice u havent gone down the rack route. if your collection gets any bigger you may have to.

I'm using a korg Trinity V3 as a mother keyboard and everything else is racked up or virtualised. Except for the 16:2 studio master mixer and a couple of midi control surfaces for interaction with the PC Reason 4 rewired to Cubase.

Anyway, good to see someone after my own heart.

    Nice one!!

    NeoN HaZe

  • lol...thanks, a kindred spirit! As for the rack route, i've had a lot of rack gear in the past, but getting keyboard version allows you to just use that bit of gear straight away, no midi, usb etc...more immediate. Just can't get on with software synths...spend too much time trawling sounds instead of writing!...thanks for the message, hope to hear from you again!

  • Can you let us hear what comes out of this amazing set up...

  • Amazing stuff mate, wish i had all that :( hehe

  • how much did you pay for all this

  • I hate to think how much i've paid for it, but for all the synths and other bits i've ever owned, probably near £25,000 i've spent on this obsession!

  • QUITE an impressive collection my friend

  • Nice little setup however I found the Behringer Digi mixer to break down too often. Yamaha has some great digi mixers out which use ADAT.

Nice interface, I was unaware they made ADAT interfaces.

  • You got a nice setup, but I can't understand why you that crappy Behringer digitalmixer. Th AD DA

converters just sucks! Its better to get a Yamaha 01v.

  • You have a point, the Behringer isn't the best, but i've got used to the sound of it. As I use 16 Channels of adat, I don't really have much trouble...but you are right, there are better digital mixers out there.

  • You can upgrade your Moog for free on their website, but you just don't get the built in USB port. It's a little hard to find but it's on the site.

  • Thanks for the heads up on that, had a look and not bothered about the usb as i use a midi interface, but thanks for the info.

  • dope studio

  • nice!

  • nice studio..soo much gear!! i never seen so many keyboards in one room!!!

  • very nice studio man. i wish had one like it.
