I'm a teacher at a secondary school in England, what a great video I'm definitely going to use it as an introduction to disposal of nuclear waste in my ,next lesson Thanks
@xjayrdude haha that's great! I used to have a whole powerpoint to go with it, well actually it was Corel Presentations was what they used back in the day.
How old were you in 2002 in your junior year of High School, my guess is 4 or maybe 5? Looks like you could have done such excellent work at that early age. I assume you've gone on to university by now? Cool :p ♪
@unclepoepoe It was a 10th grade high school project... a dramatization. And it's better than anything you could ever come up with. Google image search "spent uranium pool". You'll see it's pretty accurate.
@polaris911 How do you know that I don't work for SIGGRAPH? HA! Google image search for a spent uranium pool? How about taking a look at an actual one, where they don't add extra green slime, which apparently is associated with radioactiveness.
I'm a teacher at a secondary school in England, what a great video I'm definitely going to use it as an introduction to disposal of nuclear waste in my ,next lesson Thanks
@MrGurra97 those are spent uranium rods left from the reactor. The dead rods are submerged in pools like that because they still produce quite a bit of radiation.
i have made some realy good maps and all but when i go to run them they have ishues compiling i need a tutorial on how to compile and run world craft 3.6 maps...
I used to have the exact same issue. You just need to learn what level of complexity is too much for Worldcraft. That's why in this video, I didn't render anything ingame- it was all done in Worldcraft.
well this is the scenario... I made a box put a player start a crate shotgun and some shells gave it textures and a dynamic light... I was just a test map but i saved it to half life\valve\firstmap.rmf
then ran the map but it just sed that windows cannot find the file specified i made sure that the file was where it needed to be but still it didnt work.... can any one help???
Can you use sdk (Hammer) instead of worldcraft with hl1 I have sdk but im also using the origanal hl1 orange box cd (game of the year edition) but if I can use hammer that would be great.
could anyone explanation to me what nuclear waste is...a short write up kinda help...don't worry i wont take it as my work, i just need research for school.
There should be a sing no smoking guns or guns allowed please wear HEV SUit or clean scientists suits for safety p.s. no angry gordons barneys gmans allowed!
And thats not a waste factory to me its like a nuclear radiation facility 1 shot = R.I.P. black mesa!
torrents dude. but if you do it that way, you won't be able to play on steam. my suggestion is download half life uplink (the demo) which is free, then download worldcraft 3.4 (also free). You won't have all the game resources, but it's a start.
yeh, i only just found it today aswell, to get it u have 2 open the disk folder (my computer) then install WC from there...its easier just to transfer the WC folder from macs though...
I don't get it!? I thought you just put it in a lead box and drop it down a 3,000FT Hole. There a lot more dangerous stuff alreadt down there than a lttle radiation. Like molten Iron and Lava.
It's not a mod. The maps were never even complied because these maps are too complex to be compiled using the HL1 engine. These video clips are taken directly from the Worldcraft 3D preview window.
It says right in the description. The song is from the Need for Speed 2 soundtrack, it's called Gore. I can send it to you if you like, it's hard to find.
No, this was made before Steam existed. I used Hammer for Half Life 1, the stand alone versions of each. Any shots with people are actually composites because in older Hammer versions, models were not visible in the 3D window. So it's kind of an illusion. Some shots were done by importing backdrops into Half Life Model Viewer. I used Snag-It to take video and still screen shots of the 3D window and VidEdit (an ancient video tool) to splice the clips together.

Why are you using HL1 and not Source engine? Your compiler probably put the .bsp file in the wrong location, and therefore the game cannot find it.
