I am an agnostic and i dont believe in 'divinely inspired scripture'. It was all written by humans and has numerous errors-all scriptures have them. No scripture mentions anything beyond what was humanly possible in its respective era. Human aspirations, human fantasies and human fears. No scripture mentions the laws of genetics or even gravity.I like to stress on humanity rather than divinity.

Hinduism is inherently tolerant of other religions and allows that they too could be valid alternative paths to enlightenment. My grandfather even passed away in 2007, and I developed depression and suicidal thoughts after high school experiences led to sinful Internet and bathroom addictions of lust. Findings in Turkmenistan/Central Asia have uncovered the remains of a ceremony very similar to the 'ashvamedha'(that reprehensible, obscene abomination of a 'sacred' ritual). Chariots and presses used for extracting soma-juice have also been found. No such luck with the Harappans.

Science is not absolute, but its rather convincing and rationally persuasive. Science changes because it is not rigid and ossified. It has the ability to change itself from within. I am an agnostic and i dont believe in 'divinely inspired scripture'. It was all written by humans and has numerous errors-all scriptures have them. No scripture mentions anything beyond what was humanly possible in its respective era. Human aspirations, human fantasies and human fears. No scripture mentions the laws of genetics or even gravity.I like to stress on humanity rather than divinity.

What modern science has discovered is truly a miracle. Sitting among your idols and being delusional isn't a miracle. Try studying real science for a change. Lord Swaminarayan never encouraged the caste system or gender bias .. if you would have read his teachings you would know that he disregarded the caste system and stopped the practice of sati / female infanticide. In addition he built temples exclusively for women ... this was unheard of .. Lord Swaminarayan was a reformer who established dharma in a time of great evil ..

Your guy was a man of flesh and bones and lived within the recorded history. So his life is not enshrouded in mystery and hence we dont have to take things on faith. We can judge based on the lavish lifestyle he lived or the army he maintained. His idols are still adorned with silk and gold and the day I see an idol made of hay and river-clay, I shall be content.

@santdasji Pubs, cinemas etc. have a function,they OFFER PEOPLE HOPE AND DIVERSION, much like temples do. So they have an equal right to exist. The Swaminarayan Sampraday may do lots for the needy but i guess it shud give up the whole exuberant facade of a super-religion. How can you adorn your idols with gold and silk when half of the rural women in India suffer from Anemia? Why does the 'Sampraday' not do anything about the slums barely a kilometer away from the Delhi (Akshardham) temple?

He was a normal human being. He tried selling a nice story and well,many people bought into it. His teachings failed to stave off a quarrel over his 'gaddi' among his followers.
