This is absolutely my favorite part of this movie! I liked how they told the story w/ just the editing & the music; no words........brilliant. Desmond Harrington aka Quinn on Dexter was the devil in this & an a**hole in Dexter (@ times).

Since it a greater sin to murder an innocent child, the evil crewmen were compelled to do her in behind closed doors. Note that a few people tried to help her.

The evidence indicates that the young girl was not assaulted, but hanged to death while they held her arms. Note the modest outfit is still perfectly in place after 40 years. Why would the villains waste time with a little child when they needed to secure the ship and gold? If assault was their goal, then they had much better "targets" on the ship. There is an unpublished draft of a novel version of the story that tells what happened to Katie when she was hanged. Sad : (
