and everything anybody has ever learned in school is always right then huh? even that crap about columbus? even that crap about cleopatra being egyptian? even that crap about english being the original language of america? hmmm...i am imagainining either you are a teacher or are shagging one.
@hersheyshayer I learned the same thing and personally I always found it to be more Dada than surrealist. The objects moving and taking on a life of their own is something that shows up in a lot of Dada work such as Entr'acte. Also, it lacks the dream like quality of works like Un Chien Andalou and The Seashell and the Clergyman.
"Vormittagsspuk (Ghosts before breakfast) becoming one of the first surrealist films. The characters are everyday objects incited to incongruous juxtapositions and demented sequences of actions by a revolt against routine."
dada films are good, i think better than the graphic art... i don't really like graphic dadaism but films are a such surrealistic... interesting

Ahead of its time? I'd say it is the perfect product of its time, reflecting the aesthetic trends of the 1920s avant-garde.

I have always envied the surrealist movement, they must have had so much fun making these, well, surreal clips bursting with creativity.

I think the sound track works so well. You have a true understanding of surrealism.

Dada was absorbed by the surrealism movement by the time this film was made.
