If you want to compare resumes, I have over 25 years of experience with hundreds of different nitro engines and have tuned engines for many drivers in numerous national and IFMAR World Championship events. It's safe to say you have a VERY long way to go before you learn what I've forgotten. Bottom line, you NEVER tune based on the amount of smoke coming from the exhaust. The engine in ths video is running PERFECTLY. Idles down, no lean bogging, no hesitation, no loading up... perfect.
How is it running so far? The car is running too lean, not a line of smoke at all, maybe just a light mist but thats it. You must at least see smoke after accelerating and be a few seconds on idle, and when going WOT the engine must spurt a cloud of smoke for a brief second...
psiturbo, you don't know what you're talking about. The engine is running perfectly with no hesitation on the bottom end, no loss of speed on the top end, no change in idle speed... Smoke is the worst way to gauge how an engine is running. Some fuels have lubricants that don't smoke, while some create an excess of smoke. Any tuning expert will tell you that you tune it to run at peak performance. Looking for smoke is something that they tell noobs.
LOL, ok whatever, you are telling me that have had Revo 3.3, Nitro Mini, two sportwerks Mayhem, two PRP XR8 (both versions). You must always always see some smoke, its not magic smoke to make it look realistic, is lubricants, you are retarded. I have tuned from the infamous OFNA FORCE .25, .26, NovaRossi .12, Wasp and Axial .28, O.S. RG and VZ-R, whatever dude. Its your engine. NO smoke tuning, you have no smoke, LOL.
I'm trying to find an Inferno GT rolling chassis right now, so I can build a fast one. I allready converted a Kyosho Inferno Truggy to brushless (50mph+) now I want to do one of these street cars, hope to get close to the 100mph mark... Wanna go fast? lose the gas! Electric holds EVERY speed record : )
When they are runnin right, they have seen speeds of upto 70mph +, However as it has been said, it is recommended you find a very large open space to get the full potential out of it
Only thing changed are the tires. Everything else is stock. There are faster 1/8 nitros out there, but you better have some wide open roads to take advantage of anything faster than this.
The pull start is really cool. No starter boxes to mess with. The carburetor is really finicky, though. Particularly with a body on. A little frustrating for the novice.
a little? how about a lot. i ve been doing this for 8 years and nothing compares to a gxr28 break-in, please could you send the settings on your hsn,lsn and idle, my gxr28 is a mess and i d appreciate a starting point to set mine up like that. thanks
Man, this is only my second nitro and it is giving me so much grief. That's why Kyosho has it in this video. I can get it to run well enough if I lean it out, big time. It gets super hot, and doesn't run at all with the Subaru body in place (butchered with cooling holes). It's been sitting there for almost a year now. I think the settings I used were 2 1/2 out on the HSN, .050" in from flush on the LSN, with a pretty high idle (wants to take off).
Kyosho is the best you can buy, unless of course you own something else, in which case you know you can only be second best and then you post stupid commments like a few of the above to justify your decision to get some inferior product.
Gosto muito do som do carro... eu ando atras dum carro destes a muito tempo mas ainda nao encontrei...Mas ainda ando a procura... Mas como é a capa deste carro...fizeste alguma alteraçao a este carro?
Well I'm thinking of buying one of these and I didn't find it boring at all. Thanks for putting this up so I could get a look at the Inferno GT in action! Cheers!

man this is running too perfect to be a nitro :) is it fuel injected?

NO smoke???!!!!! bad for the engine"!!!!! and the 1st gear is to short :)
antte18 2 years ago
See wcocod's reply below. Smoke is a poor gauge for tuning a nitro motor.
sammyxp 2 years ago
Poor gauge? Maybe poor but definitely an indication as to whats going on. Your definitely running lean on your LSN.
Nim718Ny 2 years ago
Tell that to Steve Pond. Because that's who is driving it in these vids.
sammyxp 2 years ago
@sammyxp It all depends on the mix of castor oil and engine temp.. doesn't sound lean to me but what do I know?
PsychoLegoMan 1 year ago
@sammyxp yeah but without smoke its def. too lean !! has to be atleast some smoke !!
chaddythepimp1973 1 year ago
whats the top speed of this ?
ciarancdc 3 years ago
They had it clocked in the mid 40's. With some gearing changes, it is well over 50mph. If you've got the space!

Can you now run the car with its body? What changes/adjustments did you make?
thanks
zildjanlang 4 years ago
Still can't make this motor run with that body on. Just keeps stalling.

When I commented I dont have my IGT yet, You could be over heating(body holes,High nitro fuel,or rubbing parts).Hope this helps.

With taller gearing, I believe they've had these up to 50mph or so.

Hey, um is your inferno gt stock or did you buy some parts?
I mean 43mph is pretty fast!!
Its the best bang for the buck!
