i saw pat metheny and the pmg at the blaisdell concert hall in honolulu in the late 1970's. their sound captured and continues to capture my soul and imagination. "spring ain't here" is such a beautiful and addictive song. pmg's music takes me to places that are so pleasurable. aloha from hawaii. MPDR, thanks for posting all these pmg vienna vids.

Pat's live chops and improv sensibilities on the solos were in absolute top form around this time (late 80's - early 90's) - case in point right here. This off-the-cuff solo could be a stand in for what's on the record, equally beautiful.

The solo is depending always of his phisical/mental status, and the place, a tour is not an easy thing, long and long steps of all, food, money, etc, etc, i know ted Kurland or David Sholemnson were took over that, Im Agree the best solos are from 1985 and goin up,
