There are times when I wish Katherine had stopped being afraid of her strength and had actually taken the field against Henry. He would have deserved it and the minute Mary began to be mistreated, should have been the beginning of the end of her tolerance. The entire British nation would have risen with her, I'm sure of it.

She loved being queen. She was a religious Zealot. She talked Henry into brutally opposing Martin Luther Reform. She and gave Thomas More the right to kill Lutherans. And she spoke up to help Thomas More when he killed William Tyndale for translating the Bible into English because he wanted common people to be able to read it for themselves. Of corse Thomas More did not want that, He wanted the common people to need the clergy to read the Bible(and interpret it) for them.

The only true and rightful Queen out of Henrys wives, the one who knew and loved him best, the only one who was born and raised to *be* Queen and who stepped into the Kings shoes as regent to defend England against Scotland while Henry was away in France. The only true and rightful Queen out of Henrys wives, the one who knew and loved him best, the only one who was born and raised to *be* Queen and who stepped into the Kings shoes as regent to defend England against Scotland while Henry was away in France. With the support she had, she might have been able to take Henry down for everything he had (Ala Catherine The Great!) but she didn't for the sake of peace, and because she still loved him.

Queen K kicked ass in her day. She stood up against King Henry for herself and her daughter and she did it oh so regally. She could have easily brought hell to England,but she chose not to. The English people loved her even more for it. Even now she is regarded as a right and true Queen,which is exactly what she was. The symbols of Queenship hang over her grave now and she was truly an admirable woman.

I know it totally would have been, half of europe invading england? a queen fighting for he rdaughters rights to the throne? consequences for henry and anne? history would never have been the same (and probably a lot more interesting!) i mean katheirne could have raised hell for henery but she didnt - for england and for henry!

Great Video! Its suits Katherine of Aragon perfectly. My favourite scene in all Henry movies is Katherines speech at the legatine trial to Henry. Although I too am usually on team Boleyn, Katherine is my next fave Queen and she really was an Amazing Woman

I know people will bash me for saying this, dont get me wrong katherine is my favorite wife, and in second place is anne, because although anne did make catheirne suffer she was a strong woman too!!
and catheirne and anne have many parallels, both fought for their daughter, both hanged strong by their faith, and when their faith abadon them they stayed strong, stubborn and never gave up for their DAUGHTER!!
so both women you have to admire, they were strong.

yes katherine Parr was also a strog and decicive woman, she also like Katherine of Aragon acted as regent during Henrys last attck on King Francis of France, she managed to rehabilitate both mary and Elizabeth in Henrys eyes. in fact there are strong possiblities that Katherine Parr was named after Katherine of Aragon as Katherine Parrs mother was a lady in waiting to the Queen and Parr was made a ward of the Queen katherine of Aragon was also at her christaning possibly xxxx
